  1. Most important part of the news:

There was a report that stated Immanuel Quickley was looking for an extension worth around $25 million per season. For what it’s worth, there was never any demand made in negotiations to reach a certain number.
The Knicks and Quickley’s side never got over the hurdle of the structure of a potential deal, per SNY sources. One offer made to Quickley was not fully guaranteed, giving the Knicks a team option in the contract, per SNY sources. There were no incentives included in the talks, per SNY sources.
Quickley, of course, will be a restricted free agent in the 2024 offseason. At that point, the Knicks will be able to match any offer sheet Quickley signs with another team.

I generally like Begley but this was kind of an annoying report. He says the Knicks have had talks on players but won’t say who the players are?

    I’d take DeRozan.

    Short contract….

Addresses our front court scoring / depth issue…

Would not cost us a lot…..

The dude can still score in droves and not everyone on the team needs to be a 3pt shooter….

Allows RJ to move to the 2…

I bet Grimes, Evan, Deuce, and a 1st RP could do it. The guy is 34..Chicago ain’t getting a lot back for him

yeah this is the right move though right? both great players but they aren’t the fit.

the knicks are gonna be at least mentioned in probably every trade rumor for the next few months until (if and when) something comes through. i’m for it though—i feel like when the right trade happens it’ll be sorta obvious

I’d consider Demar. Open up the mid range game and I view RJ as a player w a similar style as DeMar/Jimmy, so he could provide mentorship

I still think for this year, the best bet for the team is Bojan. He matches up perfectly with what we’re missing against the bigger lineups of Bucks/Celtics
