Perk: The Lakers turned on a ‘championship mindset’ + Spurs MISUSING Wembanyama? 😮 | NBA Countdown

Kendrick Perkins, Richard Jefferson and Chiney Ogwumike join Malika Andrews on NBA Countdown to describe what they saw from LeBron James, Austin Reaves and Anthony Davis in the Los Angeles Lakers’ In-Season Tournament victory over Kevin Duran and the Phoenix Suns before questioning Victor Wembanyama’s utilization by Gregg Popovich and the San Antonio Spurs.

  1. Great take from Perk and RJ. ESPN is already trying to tell Victor how to feel about his team. Why would he “feel some type of way about this process”? There is literally no other process when you’re rebuilding a franchise around a prospect. That’s it right there.

  2. Championship mindset? Who else has a ring except Lebron & AD. I know you ain’t talking about Cam Reddish, ballin like a talented scrub in the league.

  3. "Lakers championship mindset" or actually Phoenix was just easy pickings, and Kevin DurAINT I mean Durant is seen as a bus riding opportunistic weakling and so LeBron James had to take advantage and run roughshod over them

  4. predictions now when they lose in the final to the bucks "they just can't compete right now with the other contending teams they need to make another trade for a superstar lebron needs help he's 38 he can't dominate without another superstar"

  5. the Suns arent very good right now. the Lakers will look bad again pretty soon because they're inconsistent af. lebron does look way better than last year but the Lakers jumpers are so hot and cold from game to game where it makes them so erratic. Just like last year.

  6. Fk you all talk so much sh|t. Wemby is overrated – he is simply tall. That's the whole basis of his game. His dunks are boring, his skills aren't sublime. KD is about as tall as you want before you just lose the visual impact. NBA always desperate for a new face. Remember that dude called Zion lol

  7. I think perk goes to sleep with a replica of LeBronze's nuts on his pillow. The Lakers just got back from a road trip where they beat bad teams and got blown out by good teams. The Suns committed 20 turnovers and lost by three points. Keep it real man!

  8. People focus way too much on how many points AD scores… he has scored 35+ in plenty of games when the lakers lost and it wasn’t a close game… AD getting rebounds, blocks, and altering shots around the rim are what wins games for the lakers and he had a ton of rebounds in the 2nd half… also the lakers start every game trying to feed AD the ball on offense as much as possible then it gradually shifts to Lebron & Reaves being the offense for the rest of the game.
Y’all can talk sht but it’s clear you haters don’t actually watch laker games and just go off of how many points AD scored and even if he scores 35 total but had 30 in one half & 5 in the other that somehow isn’t good enough for you…

Go rewatch last years playoffs vs the Grizzlies & vs the Warriors and come back trying to tell me it was AD’s offense that won those series… AD blocked & altered almost every single shot at the basket in those games especially at home, that’s why they won.

  9. LA Lakers won that game, Yes! But They still let the PHX Suns scored and narrow it down in a close out game. Vulnerability

  10. Levels to this….Mike didn't need an in-season tournament to show up on day 1 of the season ready to compete with intensity.

  11. The difference is just that the Lakers are finally healthy. Not the mindset or whatsoever.
The Lakers couldnt defend well because they had no Vando/Hachimura/Reddish, so no wing depth or defense.
That being said, I still believe Vincent will be big for this team later on

  12. Trouble for BricksBanyama? His entire professional career (which now is his 4th season) has shown he is an inefficient shot jacker. All we are seeing is exactly what he has always shown. You would think if you were the 9th best 3P shooter on your team you wouldn't be taking the 3rd most attempts. Complete selfish losing mentality. And hey Bricks stop stealing uncontested rebounds from your teammates to pad your stats and doing nothing on defense other than hunting for blocks

And yes I stated all this would happen BEFORE it did

  13. Jefferson hit it on the head it's pops fault for not having a point guard for wemby were the fans we want to see wins not throwing seasons I don't pay to see them just to lose
