That was fun to watch if you're a Magic fan, and torture if you're a Pistons fan. But the score isn't the reason why it's torture…though it is shameful when you consider that the Magic are pretty decimated by injuries right now, and the Pistons aren't. But no, the part that would kill me would be seeing the stark difference between two teams that many thought would be very similar coming into this season.
On paper, the Pistons seem to have almost as much talent as the Magic…but the results on the court this season couldn't be more different. The Magic look like they could make some noise in the playoffs, and the Pistons look like they could make some noise at the top of the Lottery…again.
The Pistons just don't seem to understand how to play solid team defense. Either the Detroit roster's combined basketball IQ is very low, or Monty Williams isn't nearly as good of a coach as everyone thought he was before this season.
