Vooch had a tough matchup against Wemby tonight. He went 9-22 from the field for 22pts, but he managed to corral 16 rebs to go along with 2 Asts and 1 BLK, so he did IIGHT tonight.
I remember two seasons ago people were saying Keldon and Johnson has bright future but now they are considered as bad players when the rookie came in 🤔
Bulls going to the chip!!! Trade Derozan or lavine maybe Caruso to make the deal good then get like picks and good role players so white and Williams become stars…👍
When the 4th quarter starts, the Spurs look lost. It seems to happen over and over, both last year and now this year. They play well for 3 quarters and then fold the 4th. Standard excuse is it's due to inexperience, youth, not "figuring stuff out," blah blah blah. If the players can play competitive NBA basketball for 3 quarters, they have the talent. This can't be all about them. Pop's a good coach but are there any other good coaches on the Spurs staff? Looks like all the past coaching talent has moved on, and no one competent has been found to replace them. They need someone to tell them how to stay competitive to the end. Or else, why even have a coaching staff?
Wemby with lots of rebounds, including offensive rebounds, and 4 blocks, 4 assists, and 21 points (though on 20 shots)…. and yet 22 when on the court in a 9-point loss. In other words, the Spurs outscored the Bulls by 13 with Wemby sitting. I would have to assume this happened when the second units were playing each other. Even so, Wemby was the clear +/ loser tonight of all the players on both teams. I mention this only to highlight the fact that he is not a game-changer at this early stage of his career, no matter the highlights reel.
For the good of the Spurs organization, Popovich has to retire. He's washed now. The team is 3-18 with Wemby? This is Pop's FIFTH straight losing season. That gets any coach fired in the NBA!
