Hopefully, these all fairweather fans who showed up because of Wemby will lose interest soon and go back to being Laker fans. I’m just tired of hearing all the short-sighted reactionary takes.

We’re just not a very talented team right now tbh. No coach or 19 year old Frenchman is going to change that overnight. We’re just not good at basketball. It’ll take time.

FO is fully on board with Pop’s process. Pop’s contract is 5 years long.
He will probably get a shot or 2 at another ring by year 4 and 5.
They currently have the highest future cap space in the league, and the second most draft picks, just taking the time to use their cards right and surround Wemby with the right pieces.
I hope the apologies will be as loud as the disrespect from these impatient “fans”.
They seem to think you can build a dynasty in 20 games (when Bulls MJ needed 7 years, Warriors Curry needed 6, Lakers Kareem needed 5 years + rookie Magic, Kobe and Shaq needed 4 years, Spurs Robinson needed a 22 y.o Duncan and 9 years). And most of their main superstars were not 19 years old when they drafted them and built around them.
They think they know more about basketball than the winningest coach in NBA history, the coach with the most consecutive playoff runs in history, the coach with the most 50+ win seasons in a row in history.
And the active coach who won the most rings and coached two of the greatest Big Men of all time. And casually taught or mentored half of the other active coaches in the league at this point.
You’d be a fool not to want him to share his experience with Wemby for as long as possible. It’s a match made in heaven, it will just take 2 or 3 seasons to build a competitive roster again.

I love Pop and want him to stay as long as possible. Now that it’s out of the way, I do feel like we should still be able to get more from the coaching group at the moment.
We are running non-sensical line-ups where we give up our leads all the time, we are not calling any sort of plays most of the game, our defense on the perimeter has been comical and has barely improved.
I think these can be fixed WHILE we still tank and let young players develop. I just don’t get what we are learning by keeping these things true. Not everything is binary and we should be able to ask for more from the staff without being met by the crowd thinking we just want them fired…
Rant over, GSG!

I more or less blame the posters of this sub who tried selling us on these bad players on the team. Other than wemby, I’m only sold on vassell being apart of a championship team

There’s also something to be said about not letting septegenarians & octogenarians continue running things when they’re starting to fail.
