  1. True.. I think it is good he plays for blazers.. less media spotlight for him to develop. Plus we already have two up and coming guards

    He’s spot on.

I love optimism and hope, but oftentimes optimism and hope drives unrealistic expectations. And when the players don’t fulfill them, a large subset of fans instantly calls them busts or say they need to be traded.

Look at Ant – two offseasons ago people were calling him untouchable and by most metrics he had a pretty good year last year – 21/4 on 58% TS and improved defense (still horrible but no longer worst-defender-in-the-league like he was to start his career). Yet since he didn’t like, become an all-star overnight half the subreddit wanted to trade him for peanuts.

I won’t sit here and pretend like Scoot has been good (he clearly hasn’t been), but it takes time, especially for a PG. You really can’t judge guys this soon.

I remember cursing at the tv watching Simons play in his first 2-3 seasons. I said over and over again that we needed to trade him but now I have to eat my words (luckily). But on the other hand look at Sharpe. Even in his first game I could tell he was special. I don’t see that in Scoot. I think only time will tell.

Scoot has shown a lot of defensively. People are focused on his terrible offensive stats but they’ll improve eventually. Worst case scenario he develops into a really good wing defender who can play make.

The dude is 19 and been injured during his first month and a half on the job. Let the kid play we aint going for western conference finals this year.

Dame spent 4 years in college playing ball and came into the league at least being able to buy a drink in a bar.

Quote from the article: Experience is the best teacher for sure. You can tell somebody, “Hey, look, this is happening,” but you have to actually see it happening over and over again to actually grasp it.
