Seen a lot of (understandable) confusion / Glenn Rivers PTSD surrounding the lineups and minutes lately – this article has some relevant quotes from Nurse.
Sounds like this is still a trial period, and while there’s a mostly decided group of 5 starters and 3 backups, now they’re evaluating the rest of the guys to decide on the last 2 spots.

> “I think you can pretty much safely say the 5 starters are gonna in the rotation, right?” Nurse explained. “I think you can pretty much safely say Paul Reed’s gonna be in the rotation as the backup 5. I think you can probably say Kelly Oubre is gonna be in the rotation considering what he brings on both ends of the ball…Pat Bev is gonna be in there as the backup 1. After that, I really like—there’s a lot to like about all the other guys.”
> “That’s where we gotta figure out are we playing 10?” Nurse added. “Yeah. We are now, for sure because we’re trying to figure out what’s Marcus bring? What’s Cov bring? They all can bring something. All of them. All the way to 15. We’ve seen Jaden (Springer) bring his things. We’ve seen (Danuel) House bring his things. We’ve seen Furk bring some things. We’ve seen even Mo who’s hardly gotten a chance have a pretty good game the other night, but it’s hard to see them.”
Roco better be in that next 5. Or heads will roll!
Hope this is code for the long awaited Tobias benching
I don’t know the stats officially but I saw RoCo and Melton Force a lot of turnovers and deflections together.
Would love to see a starting 5 of Maxey, Melton, Roco, Batum, and Jojo. Great balance of defending, 3 pt shooting, while still allowing Maxey and Jo to be ball dominant.
Move Tobi to the bench and he can take all the terrible contested middies and iso all he wants without digging us into a hole.
Bench unit could ideally be Bev, Springer, Oubre, Tobi, and Reed.
Do it NN, do it now.
I just hope the evaluation of Marcus Morris ends asap and with the correct result.
