Wiggins still has great defense. Just that his offense is legit bad in the 2nd half of games. Not sure what it is.
The trade Wiggins stuff is just dumb. Still frustrated with his offense but I still think he’ll get it together.
Wiggs still has value as a defensive wing. I think that would be an easier sell to him at this point of his career than being a quasi all-star that the team wants him to be…
Other than a couple possessions, I thought Kuminga guarded him well. SGA was hitting some tough shots so credit to him.

Too many people thinks that JK is the new MJ. Sorry, people, but he is not the savior of this team.
JK has huge defensive potential, but is still young with it. Got beat by Shai way too many times playing so close at the three. Gotta give the guy some space so he can’t get past you and to make him shoot some long jumpers that he doesn’t want to take.
People need to chill. Kuminga played better than Wiggens last night but overall Wiggens has proven to be better. Kuminga will grow but he is definitely not ready to replace Wiggins yet. There is no denying Wiggins has been awful this year offensively but has rebounded and defended incredibly well so far. Attacking Kuminga to present Wiggins in a positive light is just not the right move. Kuminga stayed in front of SGA most of the time and overall played good defense but SGA is really good. The sample size is too low to paint any clear picture. If Wiggens doesn’t revert to his previous self then there is no way that this team will win a championship.

I’m tired of this narrative. Does no one realize that it’s pretty easy to hunt the match up you want by setting screens. Even if you had wiggs be the primary defender he most likely would not have ended up on him. Also sga is an incredibly skilled player who has cooked much better defenders than Wiggins so sometimes you just miss, that’s not to take away good defense possessions from wiggs, but sga also could have been 4/5 through no fault of wiggs.
JK’s on ball defense was absolutely horrid against SGA. He got blown by to the RIGHT multiple times on drives. Bit so hard on change of pace moves when SGA was going downhill to his left. Then he showed absolutely NEGATIVE dog when fighting through and around screens. I was physically hurting watching JK’s on ball defense in that fourth. Fuck.

We all have to admit that JK is still learning. It showed yesterday that he was getting cooked. And it was obvious why JK was getting cooked. Not cause SGA was that much better but purely cause JK was making a bunch of silly mistakes and isn’t that dude yet. He was -11 in the game. Now it makes sense why Kerr benches him a lot and plays his starters. It’s just easier to coach vets cause they always get their basics right. JK will be our star in a couple of years but we have to trust our vets and get something going before we experiment with youngsters this season. Just a solid 10-15 game run that’s all.
Very small sample size. Wiggins has quicker feet than Kuminga and does fare better against quicker guards. But some of SGA misses against Wiggins were good shots he could make. If he goes 3/5 on those does that make Wiggins less impressive? Kuminga guarded him ok but at least a few of those were closeouts or switches of SGA on transition. Another thing I really don’t see in this sub is the fact that Kuminga gets abused by the refs. Wiggins many games gets the benefit of the doubt with the refs because of his great reputation while Kuminga doing similar things gets called. Offensive players bump into him and get consistent calls even when he doesn’t initiate the contact or gets pushed.
Wiggins finally looks in shape and healthy (besides the smashed finger). Recovering from broken ribs must have been gnarly.
