I mean Ja is fantastic but how does Ja turn the current grizzlies team into a dangerous playoff team? 1. They have to make the playoffs which the optimism of that happening is dwindling
2. Even with Ja is this current team a scary playoff team? I would be doubtful without some sort of moves before the deadline
3. Ja is a great scorer and solid playmaker but outside of that he is an average defender who can’t play off ball super well without a reliable jumper, I don’t think he’s enough to turn this current teams trajectory this season.
I’m not out on the grizzlies but this season might have to end up being similar to the mavs last season, a solid team tanks for higher pick then turns things around the next season

Ja def helps grizzlies in closing they should literally save him for the 4th. But we went 20-5 without ja. Grizzlies are bad without adams thats it. hes the lifeline second chance and play maker and defense is way better with him, ja is the fast break downhill demon. I fear the grizzlies had the chance the last 2 years but focus was off.

You forgot to mention 2 other major factors, additional time off to heal his body. He had he knee knocked around a few times, had that awkward fall that bent his wrist terribly. We could see a physical transformation it's been hinted that he's gained 10-15 pounds of muscle and could be be fully healthy and rehabbed. I think Ja is absolutely going to take the league by storm this year and put up career numbers across the board to the tune of 29 PPG, 6 REB, 8 Assists. Would miss out on All NBA due to missing to many games, but I believe he becomes a clear cut top 10 player in the league going forward for the next 5 years.
