Indiana Pacers Postgame Media Availability (vs. Los Angeles Lakers) | December 9, 2023
Rick Carlisle, Tyrese Haliburton and Aaron Nesmith speak with the media following the Pacers loss to the Lakers in the In-Season Tournament Championship on Saturday night.
these 4/5am games are rough for me. lmao vets let the team down big time today, could tell we really missed drew too, I love buddy think that's surely it now for the long-term right? it's pretty bizarre watching from Europe seeing how the broadcast is so majorly leaning to one sided, pretty interesting to see from over here. good group good experience go again
Oh, Coach Carlisle…it happened, buddy. Whether you wanna acknowledge it or not, y'all got shellaced by a bigger, more physical, more dominant, more defensive team. Happy for Lebron and the Lakers. Haliburton is certainly a rising star in this league, but he'd never experienced the bright lights and what veteran NBA guys can deliver on big stages.
I'm disappointed that they lost but overall I'm not down about my Pacers, they competed the game was fairly close for the most part and a young team going up against LeBron ain't easy. They got some really good experience in tonight's game that I believe will only make them better. However the expectations for the Pacers have now risen, they MUST make the playoffs this season PERIOD
Too many fouls 30 plus .. Lakers in bonus for 16 1st half minutes . Weird game . 86 points given up in paint gave up only 2/3 3s. Live and learn. Lakers controlled pace 7 second offense of pacers a non factor because of bonus and defense of Lakers. Make fewer loose ball fouls get to bonus first better shot selection when playing tempo control team like Lakers.
Pacers need a second star to play along side Haliburton. No, that star is not already on the roster. Not Turner, not Mathurin, not Topin, not anyone on this team. Haliburton has to have another star so that teams can't do what the Lakers did and that's double and triple team him. The Lakers knew "shut down Haliburton and you shut down the team". Plain and simple. Are the Pacers going to win a lot of games this year? Oh I'm sure they will. But they won't do much in the playoffs. Don't be a fan simp. "But they beat Boston and Milwaukee to get to the In Season Tournament Finals!!" Sorry, but neither of those teams took this as seriously as they will in the playoffs. Facts. The Pacers may win a first round series, but they aren't winning a championship until they get another star to play along side Haliburton. It's that simple. This is the same reason Reggie never won a championship with the Pacers. And it's also the same reason Paul George left. Again, facts. Until the Pacers get another star player they'll be a cute story that pops up every once in a while and, at some point, Haliburton will move on as well. He's too good to spend his whole career on a toiling small market team like the Pacers. "But he said he wants to build something with the Pacers!!!" Stop it with that. Dude wants a championship.
Team is way ahead of schedule. Should be very proud. That being said we need another elite piece. Pritchard needs to fork up the cost to get Siakam , PG ,Derozen, Lavine etc without letting go of Mathurin.
It wasnt a coincidence that everytime the Pacers got some momentum and within a couple points, someone on the Pacers fouled someone on the Lakers and they shoot fts. No coincidence.

You guys don't want to trade Buddy and Turner to us after all those years
You reap what you sow

We all know the league wouldn't let LeFlop lose….
Lakers defense intimidated Pacers
They got outplayed, and couldn't answer the Halibrurton lockdown, props to Lakers coach and staff on this game.
Way to let the city down
Buddy heild, bruce brown and myles played terrible. Mathurin defense is an issue, but at least he made plays during their comeback.
Turner was trash. We're not going to win a playoff series with him. We couldn't hit the broad side of the barn
Bruce sucked and myles and heild

This game matter what if you would have won

People calling Turner trash are ridiculous. The Pacers beat the Celtics. Bucks twice and the Sixers with Turner at center.
Adam silver needs to fine these refs unless he told them to rig the game for his precious lakers
They wanted that MONEY!! But man, how will teams defend against Haliburton now? Was this the blueprint?
Rick said a lot without saying anything. Pretty much "yeah we lost"

What a sore loser! “This game never happened”. You got your ass kicked. Go tell that to the players.
👎👎👎
Good work Pacers!! All love from the west side!!!

paul george is the missing piece bring him home
Respect from Lakers Nation 🔥✊🏽
EXPECT TYRESE TO DISAPPEAR FOR A MONTH AFTER THROWING AWAY THAT 500K😂
We need more height and better defense. We were getting bullied in the paint.
