It's going to take many more games like this to make up for the last few games. A 14 pts win Edward could have scored twice that amount it could have easily been a 14 pt loss so let's not get excited about this win there is more challenges to come.
Great – Zion had a good game. But the inconsistency is still there. Great that Willie Green called out the lack of effort against the Lakers but no one has seriously analyzed WHY it happened. On that stage, effort should not be the problem.

This is not a vindication for Zion. It's actually an indictment. If you can do that to a contending team wtf were you against Lebron? Trim off that spare tire and he can bring it on a consistent basis with even less injuries.
He needs to lose weight. People have been saying this. Yes, the national media is/can be malicious with their criticism of him. SAS is over the top with his.
His effort on the defensive end is beyond abysmal. And he should be more of a factor in rebounding.

It was both a bounce back game and a par for the course game for Zion … anyone worth their salt will want to prove people wrong but also you have to keep in mind that it is the same work If you see it as more than work, than you can get overwhelmed by the moment (like in Vegas)

Jake, Stephen A Smith was devastated when the Knicks couldn’t draft Zion, Stephen A Smith was distraught when Zion resigned with the Pelicans. Stephen A Smith is a Zion hater and he should be ashamed of himself making fun of this young brother. If Barkley, Shaq and Stephen A Smith was so concerned about this young man they would reach out to help not ridicule and try to get likes online for making jokes about his weight or his play. I saw a few of the responses from their comments and it’s shameful that these older black men are making fun of this young man. Stephen knows damn well that there is no chef in New Orleans talking about Zion.

The national talking heads know very little about the Pelicans and should be ignored. Regional reporters can give a much more accurate assessment of locally based teams.
I still don’t think you get it about Zion. It’s not that he is playing bad or even not competing on defense or whatever. Right now his normal game or even bad games would be really good games for most players. The issue is his weight and conditioning presently will prohibit him from reaching his full potential and keep him from being a great player. He has the talent to become an all time great player if he can get into great shape. It’s really up to him.

I'm not surprised the Pelicans won this game, but this is also frustrating to see because why can't this team play like this every game? Bring this same level of play, same level of energy and this team will be hard to beat.
