  1. lost $50 during that game 7 because of the 27 threes. it was at a bbq and everyone laughed at me. last time i placed a bet on a basketball game.

  2. The rockets were destined not to do anything. They were a stupid team…. And kept chucking up shots. They did not try to change anything. Dudes were stupid and one dimensional

  3. everyone blaming the coach but people forgot even the commentators were saying why wasn’t refs blowing the whistle on back to back 3’s , fans think their smarter then coaches and players 🤦‍♂️ those rockets players and coaches already knew the refs was going to rig the game for the warriors they tried blowing them out with straight 3s so the refs can’t get involved it worked in first half just shots weren’t falling in 2nd half Gerald green was playing like a beast that year fading 3s like it was nothing and after that game 7 loss he was caught by the nba liking a tweet on twitter saying that game was rigged and was black balled from the league while the players like pj tucker that shut they mouths are getting rewarded guaranteed contracts

  4. People tend to forget refs canceled a 4 point play from Harden into a normal non-shooting foul in the middle and there were so many unbalanced no-calls on the physical contacts on lay ups from rockets while that 27-0 run, people now just assume they didn't try other shots. I saw Eric Gordon fell to the floor every time he attacks the rim with defenders all over him and both Demarcus Cousins( joined the warrior after) and Jeremy Lin tweeted about how bad the whistles were on rockets in the halftime… I am not saying rockets lost because of those, Warriors played great, but it's mad all those situations were simplified into "rockets loose because they only shoot threees"

  5. I really wonder what are the odds of an NBA team missing 27 consecutive 3s. Has to be the most bizarre thing to happen in NBA history.

  6. As insane as that was, the fact that they weren't able to adjust shows the teams weakness. And as crazy as Harden was that year he is one dimensional and so the team was one dimensional.

  7. For those who say "the Rockets should've taken it inside or gone for midranges or layups":

    1) both teams defensive schemes were to switch everything, the reason the Rockes were the only real competition to the GS dynasty was because they were the only team that had enough 2 way guys to make it work (ariza, tucker, gordon, mbah moute if he wasnt hurt too), combined with their offense being top tier enough to keep up with GS.
    2) because everything was switch everything, that meant that both teams had to play a lot of iso to generate good looks. The rockets did it with harden and cp, and the warriors did it through kd & steph, something they didn't really do all year because most teams didn't switch everything on them yet.
    3) Once cp went down, not only did the rockets lose one of their 2 way guys, but that left them with only harden to implement their offensive game plan. All year long they had practiced spacing out their offense by harden & cp "taking turns" in iso. Once one of them goes down, the other suffers (stamina wise), and the rest of the team doesn't get as good of looks as they are all 3 & D players.

Conclusion: the rhythm of which houston took that many 3s was all off. A typical possession would be harden getting a screen, forcing steph on him. GS sends a double team to get the ball out of harden's hands and scramble on close outs, gambling that any other player can't really reliable create their own shot. Ball finds itself back to harden, same thing happens. Shot clock gets low, harden has to give it up to ariza or tucker to shoot a stepback 3 against kd or draymond or klay. That's not his shot. Neither is it tucker's. Even when Harden was able to get by his guy cleanly for a few good looks, by then the rockets rhythm was all thrown off. The result: 0-27. GS was able to break free from the switch everything /bait kd into iso'ing at the elbow and a gassed harden couldn't/didn't get back on transition and klay hit a lot of big transition 3s. That's why they won.

[Yes, iggy not being hurt from games 4-7 would've helped the warriors even if cp doesn't go down. Functionally it would've meant a lot more iso's on curry than whatever 5th guy GS put out there.]

  8. I love how people say “nobody stood a chance against that warrior team” knowing dang well the rockets went 7 games with them and it took 27 missed threes to lose that series. They just say that bc bron couldn’t win 2 games against that team over 2 years

  9. Eric Gordon once scored 50 pts against the Jazz when Harden and Westbrook didn't play. Great player and a nice guy

  10. As a neutral observer, this was completely insane and a little painful to watch. That rockets team was nasty and deserved to win.

  11. Lmao I feel like in the dozen plus years i've watched Eric Gordon play I don't think i've ever heard him speak until this video
