Well, then you're trusting someone else to get the ball, that they verify its the real ball. I think if both teams were respectful sure, that would have been the case.
But the Pacers were being petty, and they grabbed the ball and ran away. Giannis simply ran after it.
You don't ask for a ball, and then run towards the locker room unless you're just trying to be spiteful.
If there really was sportsmanship, then they would have stood on the court and talked about it. Not ran into the locker room, said I didn't realize it was a big deal, and then shun the guy who wanted the ball back for being lowbrow.
Giannis knows thats not the ball, he played with it the whole game. So whatever, this just motivated the shit out of him.
Lmao this is absurd. This dude ALWAYS treats giannis like a scrub so I’m not surprised.
I promise you this—a rookies first FT point is nowhere near as commemorable as an all-time greats franchise record and personal best game after 10 years of diligent service to the franchise and the city.
Giannis was escalated because of the nature of the game. It was extremely competitive and contentious & the pacers players made a point to try and spite giannis cause their feelings were hurt that he went back in the game and taught them a lesson.
Nobody here to blame except the entire pacers organization and the bucks security who gave them the ball lol
Of course he did. He charged into the Pacers locker room AFTER the game like a psycho and caused a wild altercation. Why? Because the game meant more to him personally and nobody else mattered so he wants his ball. You can't sugar coat this. If two teams can't agree who gets the ball, then both team do not get it. Don't care if it means more to you. Definitely deserves a suspension there. With that said, loving all this drama in the NBA. Keep it up 😂🤣
The Pacers were petty as hell, and it was embarrassing to watch. The guy drops a 60-piece on their behinds, and they act like petulant children taking away the franchise/career game ball. Then they came up with the excuse that "it's for our rookies first NBA point", but he had already scored in the IST, so they then said "His first official NBA point.". Just embarrassing.
Also, they were in his stadium… Every NBA player will say that the guy dropping a 60-piece should get the game ball.
guys like giannis get their kindness mistaken for weakness. and you make that mistake to your detriment cuz he will destroy you if you disrespect him and we love him for it
Terrible take after terrible take. Of course that’s what someone would say if they never played a minute in the NBA. It is rare to make it to the league and score a point, but to make it to the league and become a franchise’s leading scorer.. You guys are supposed to be better then that
That game ball belongs to Giannis , period. The refs. and officials are the ones embarrassed not Giannis. Once someone breaks franchise record…the ref. normally stop the game for a minute and present the game ball to the person….but why is it different in this case for Giannis….pls no room for discrimination…stop it. Afterall Giannis worked hard for the record to be broken. I see how they treated others like Lebron and co when they broke the team record..and alot of people are now quick to talk bullshit about Giannis….yes I said it…because he worked hard for it.
Giannis wasnt mad about the ball. This is what happened imma tell you all cause you all are missing the most important detail. These old guys are just gonna keep running their mouths without knowing the details.
A coach from the pacers, mike apparently is his name, has the ball. Giannis asked for the ball, and the asst coach said, "no, do something about it" smirked at Giannis mockingly, then immediately went to the tunnel, thats when you see Giannis going through the tunnel irate and wanted to kill somebody.
Idk bout you guys but if an asst coach from a visiting team, told u, a superstar who just scored 64 pts, a milestone not only for you personally but for the whole organization, told you "do something about it" challenging you in your own court? What would you do?
I do agree that it looks bad on Giannis, i kind if wish he didnt do any of that and just acted nothing happened as he always does.
Giannis, Patrick Mahomes, not the best examples of sportsmanship by some of the greats the last few days. All that money I think changes these guys minds a little, they kind of lose track of reality.
One point Dan Patrick missed. Giannis wanted ball for Lillard who reached 5th all time in 3-point FGs. Did he overreact to the Pacers staff member "steal" the ball? No, if someone stole something that belonged to a friend wouldn't you run after the thief and get it back? Fight for what's right! I am an 80-year-old Marine who served in the Vietnam War and will never give up on seeing the right. Giannis is someone who cares about his family-at home and on the court- and loves Milwaukee where I live. I love his over reaction, Dan.
Why are we acting like Giannis is the first superstar to go to the visitors locker room? Michael Jordan was notorious for confronting opponents after games in the hall, in the locker room and even at the visiting teams bus. Also, that was not the Pacers hallway…they were in the Bucks house, every hallway is the Bucks hallway.
Listen. I I bust my tail off and set a career high scoring and a franchise record, I will get upset also if I'm not given the game ball. I beleive the Pacers should have voluntarily given the ball to Giannis out of respect and good sportsmanship without Giannis having to ask or demand the game ball. It's not a right or wrong situation. It is what it is. I just can't wit to see the next game a chapter of Bucks vs Pacers. Where ever baby! 😊
I disagree he definitely didn't over react. Every real athlete knows the importance of the game ball after a performance of a lifetime. I have several from back in my day. I obviously was never a pro but I take more pride in those game balls than I do my championship trophies.
Dan description of the bump to Haliburton is really innacurate. Giannis was just standing there getting ready to get the inbound Tyrese was feeling himself and decided to brush or shoulder check Giannis and Giannis was just like nah lil bitch, and gave him what he wanted.
64 points might be the career high for giannis i mean how many 60+ point games does he have left or will he perform thru out his career. i mean lebrons career high is 61 points so its not out of the realm giannis will never score that many points in a game again
It wasn't embarrassing. What's embarrassing is this video clip. The pacers and Rick Carlisle were being extremely petty and low class, and it continued with Carlisles sarcastic bullshit in the interview after. Wake up, dan.
The Pacers vs Lakers IST final game is an exception. Sadly for Oscar his first points on the team didn't count. So the Bucks game was his first that will be recorded/official.

Literally defended Mahomes for acting like a baby but now acting like Giannis overreacted
lol
Guy With A Hundred Police Badges On His Desk: 'The Black man got too angry.'
Okay, Dan.
IST Finals game stats don't count. Much like the play-in games, it's viewed as an extra game
Yep blocking this channel straight clown Giannis take
Whoever the panini guy is is a Celtic/76ers fan I bet. A 'room full of game balls' he didn't even get the game 6 ball bro.
Well, then you're trusting someone else to get the ball, that they verify its the real ball. I think if both teams were respectful sure, that would have been the case.

It's not about the ball it's about the disrespect. As a 🤡 you can't relate
Dan you are embarrassement

Who is anyone to tell anyone what should be important or how important it should be?
Its his ball to have for giannis
If you never heard of a rookie gets a basketball its because it doesnt happen.
They thought they were going to come to Giannis crib and punk him. Give that man his ball
They really took it? REALLY!
This is a shit take they are acting like scoring 64 is a regular thing
Haterrrrr. He is not embarrassed. That wasn’t embarrassing. That was passion.
For what it's worth, the stats and win/loss in the IST Finals does not count towards the regular season.
Let's goooooooooo Giannis!!
Lol ok boomer
I didn’t think it was an overreaction at all. That was his career high and a franchise record. Things don’t happen like that very often.
He wanted the ball so he could shoot some more.
Shut up old Man, give him the dam Ball!
because we Europeans have a culture and we keep the moments of our minds we are not like the Americans the only culture they have is guns
Giannis in the wrong!! WOW LOL
guys like giannis get their kindness mistaken for weakness. and you make that mistake to your detriment cuz he will destroy you if you disrespect him and we love him for it
No he didn't over react this why I stopped watching DP when MClovin left and switched up to Pat. Dan time to retire
The championship game no stats count cmon Dan do your research
If Shaq's 60 point game ball vs Clippers was taken from him, best believe Shaq would react the same way and you would never call it embarrassing.
L Take. 🤦🏽♂️
Pacers are way classier. I hope they smother Milwaukee.
Terrible take after terrible take. Of course that’s what someone would say if they never played a minute in the NBA. It is rare to make it to the league and score a point, but to make it to the league and become a franchise’s leading scorer..

Mr Dan Patrick you have covered games for quite a while and to speak on this with such ignorance is outright embarrassing.

Geez, another day of DP believing there are just "employees every where" to do these big shots like him their bidding

It’s a basketball lmao Like who fkn cares.
Guy scores 1pt….

Bucks already had "the" game ball

😂You wrong Dan Patrick Giannis should get the game ball right away. The Pacers switch the ball Giannis think the ball is not the real game ball.
