The Oklahoma City Thunder are sooooo good, and when I saw the report that many believe the Utah Jazz could make Lauri Markkanen available. I don’t know if the Jazz would actually trade him, and Danny Ainge is notoriously a hard gm to make a deal with, because he wants to win the deal all the time, but the Thunder are more equipped with draft assets than any team in the NBA to make a move.
I think if the Thunder can make a move without touching their big three of SGA-Chet-Jdub, then getting Markkanen would make OKC a tier 1 contender with the Nuggets in the West. If they can keep Dort, Isaiah Joe, and some other players, this team would be NASTY.
Even if they don’t make this move, the Thunder are so well set up for the future. They have their young big-three, young two-way players, and a metric fuck-ton of draft picks.

That trade would be incredible for both OKC and the league as a whole.
They need a veteran or two – at PG and a big.
They won't "be able to compete with anybody in the NBA" until they have a good deal of PLAYOFF experience – which will also mean getting bounced a few times before ultimately succeeding. Most of the greats had to; it's just a fact of the long tough road to the top.
Watch the kings get him đ
Small ball 5 as a 7 footer đ€Ł
Bertans cason wallace 7 unprotected 1st rd picks and i as a jazz fan say okay
Home run trade for OKC and Utah
Bertans + Giddey + Mann + 4 1sts
FOR
Markkanen + Olynik
Utah gets cap, youth that fits the Jazz and Utah, Mann, who IMO is a star if starting and 4 1sts.
OKC gets big man depth and versatility.
Side note, i feel like if we got rid of Giddey and gave Micic notably more minutes, we would see a real high value in him.
I hear ya ,but I hope my sixers can get him somehow đđżđ«đ©
Calling it now; Chet Holmgren will be the first player with a quadruple double ever.
Josh Giddy would be happier in Utah , I m sure they would defend him.
They should trade him to the Clippers so he can play with Josh Primo.
OKC had about 100 first round picks. They are on their way. Brooklyn has bright future too.
Itâs sad that most fans (causal/ ESPN highlight watchers) donât know how good this team isâŠ
Just like Ja Morant ppl will find out about SGA in his 5th year. If you donât shoot 3âs all day or dunk most fans donât notice your skills.
The Chicago Bulls let Lauri go stupid organization.
Thunder and Magic are good. Rockets and Detroit horrible.
Why would the Jazz want giddy? You just trashed him for like 10 minutes. I don't think there's any chance the jazz do this deal unless Wallace is in it.
Lauri would not only put OKC in the top tier of teams, but Iâm willing to say itâll be one of the greatest all around rosters of all time. Not saying theyâre there yet, but with some playoff experience this would be a world beater team.
Giddey and a buncha picks for Lamelo Ball or Scottie Barnes???
If we get Luri đźâđš
Iâm gonna be honest I think they need to be patient in this season
If we get Lauri its OVER
These trades are ridiculous OKC can't keep their core and get Lauri
Not likely at all!!!!! To happen đ
i dont want tre mann traded
lost your validity when u said trade josh…
yes, he's having a down year.
yes, we're better with him off the floor rn.
yes, we need to trade SOMEONE.
yes, his off-court stuff is bad publicity and doesn't help his confidence or focus atm.
but a casual doesn't realise the glue giddey adds to okc, he'll work out of his slump, he'll be better for it and so will the team.
just another overreacting take.
In Joshâs defense the last update that I saw about the pending investigation was that he was 19 and she was 16 or 17 but had a fake ID and was in an 18 and older bar and so he thought she was 18 or older and he was only 19 not 21
I love the trade idea, but my only concern is how long can you keep it together? Because eventually people are going to get paid. And several of them are going to deserve Max contracts or close to max contracts.
If it ain't broke don't f with it !!!
Excellent video my man
Two things: first Lauri is exactly 7 foot, not 6 foot 10 (213cm) đ Secondly: Jazz has a lot of picks. If they would move of of Lauri, I'm pretty sure they more want some promising young (or established) talent than just picks. They have been talking a lot how they don't want to stretch the rebuild forever. I still don't think they will anyway move out of Lauri though, but it's always possible.
That's the thing with OKC. They have such good young talent, but do they let them grow together, then who do they pay, who do they trade, who do they let walk??? SGA is their man. Chet showing he solid #2 guy. But after them, who is #3, #4,… do they trade away Williams & another to get Laurri???? Would be pretty damn nice to see. Do they trade for a center? Like a Wiseman who is labeled as a bust, but obviously has skill, won't cost much to get. I think if you tell Wiseman, your job is just rebound, defend basket, don't go farther than 10 ft from basket to defend, he can be solid.
He doesn't fit the culture
Also OKC's one big weakness is rebounding, and Lauri is a very good rebounder. It would definitely be a great fit.
