Miles Bridges’ playing status for Monday night is up in the air.
Bridges was denied access crossing the Canadian border on Sunday night and the Charlotte Hornets are working to get him to Toronto in time for Monday night’s game against the Toronto Raptors, according to league sources.
The exact reason is unclear, but it could stem from Bridges pleading no contest to felony domestic violence last year. In Canada, anybody with a criminal record may be excluded and denied entry into the country because of heightened enforcement.
Many convictions, including those for felonies, misdemeanor drug possession, DUI/DWI, reckless or negligent driving, shoplifting and theft, can make a person inadmissible into the country, no matter how long ago the incident occurred.
For that reason, those with past convictions may file for a waiver of exclusion before attempting to enter Canada. Often, several weeks are required to potentially receive clearance into the country and a fee must be paid.

If it’s indeed due to Bridges rap sheet then that’s on the Hornets’ brass for not doing their due diligence.
I mean, good. I like several players on the Hornets’ roster, but it’s so hard to root for the organization to experience success right now. For me anyway. To each their own. I cannot support Miles Bridges.

My uncle got flagged on a family trip from New York to Canada at the border because he was arrested when he visited in college like 30 years ago. I didn’t understand why at the time, but now it makes sense why my dad was cracking up while my cousin was confused and my aunt was calling him a dumbass over and over lol. Apparently every time they tell him don’t worry about it it won’t be an issue next time, but every time he goes back he gets stopped
