Cole started the season playing good defense too. Don’t know what’s happened. He’ll always get pushed around by bigger guys but he doesn’t seem to be playing passing lanes as well anymore and has some real lapses on that end of the floor.
Why getting Kelle back is going to help a lot. Shooting be damned, he’ll at least solve some of our other problems. In the meantime though Mose does have to be more flexible with his rotations if we want to get back to winning more than losing.

AB is a negative on offense though. It’s rough when the only scorers we have in our starting lineup are Paolo and Franz and when one or both are struggling, it’s hard to justify keeping Black out there for long stretches.
We really need Dell and Kelle back asap. It’s starting to get rough. Now that teams are aware of us and we can’t sneak up on them, we desperately need our starting caliber players back.

I’m starting to feel like, when Kelle gets back, he doesn’t need to take AB’s minutes. He needs to take Harris’ minutes. Let AB run with Cole, Ingles, JI, Mo/Goga. Gary can sit next to Chuma.
This could be a bad take. I’ve just grown sick of Harris running around for 25 empty minutes lately.

If we’re talking actual measured barefoot height, AB is 6’5 3/4, Cole is 6’1 1/2. AB’s hair makes him look taller than he is. Cole is not too small to be a good defender. He’s taller than Kyle Lowry who is an amazing defender. He just has terrible technique and footwork.

I mean, you honestly think that Black’s D was going to be the key to the winning this game and that Cole lost it for us? Come on man.
Perhaps it was Harris and Franz being atrocious tonight. Or maybe it was because it was the friggin Celtics! They have 2 of the most athletic and elite guards in the league AND boast an elite defense.
Besides, we actually began to come back at the end of the 3rd beginning of the 4th with Cole on the floor despite him not scoring well. I think it was perfectly reasonable to see if Cole was going to provide his usual offensive spark off the bench in the second half. If he had, we would have been right in it.

When a game matters Cole should play over AB 100% of the time. It’s 5 on 3 with our starting unit every game they play.
