One of the best defensive wings of all time. His off-ball defense was arguably better than his on-ball defense. He played off-ball defense so well that teams regularly struggled to get their star player the ball, slowing down their offense and rushing plays. We haven’t seen anything like it since. No defensive specialist has had the same impact since. If he hadn’t started slowing down, teams would’ve signed him specifically to guard Bron in his Miami era.

The HOF is not all about stats. I feel like the unwritten rule that gets guys in, is the answer to the question, can you tell the story of basketball without him? Metta is a huge part of the story of basketball. Put him in!
