Part oft the problem is lineup issues. Jalen Smith needs to play power forward. Myles needs another big alongside him. The Pacers are the next to last worst rebounding team in the NBA. Only the Wizards are worse. Last season Smith was not effective at PF because of outside shooting woes. He's corrected that. He also is a 6'9 and a solid rebounder. The lineup should be Haliburton, Hield, Turner, Smith and Toppin. That lineup has size, shooting, rebounding, shot blocking and still maintains its running ability.
Never understood bringing up that the team hasn't made the playoffs in 6 years when we have maybe 2 players left from those teams
Mathurin needs to be back in the starting lineup, or maybe start Brown at the 2 & Nesmith at the 3. And let's get Jarace more minutes now that we've seen some promise from him. Whatever is done, get Buddy out of the starting lineup. But honestly, the starters have been giving up big leads when they come back in before halftime, then they keep trying to play catchup.
1. I agree with kevin. Lakers exposed him. Need to put another ball handler. Bruce need to handle the ball if needed. They need nembhard to play more with hali. No need to change starting lineup. just the adjustment on playing time.
2. Need to do more defense scheme. Need to do this more. Turner need to make the others play defense
Bruce and Buddy need to be coming off the bench. Entirely too small and not enough creators on the floor. This is only referring to playing those upper echelon teams in a playoff setting. This team can win some games but they will not get any further unless they get a bigger lineup that can create at more than one position. My 2 cents

This year has been more of a pleasant surprise to almost everyone, but no one expected the Pacers to be this good. At this point, for me, if they can make a top 6 seed or at the very least make the playoffs and be competitive in a 7 game series, this season is a success.
However the most important part is who the pacers can acquire for Hali to play next to, and if Mathurin can continue to grow into a bonefied #2 or #3 guy.
Personally I'd love to see Pacers somehow land one of either Markkanen, Siakam, or Towns (either FA or trade) Turner is by no means a bad player and I like the guy, but we need an even better big man who can dominate with Hali on a nightly basis with the Pick&Roll
Nesmith's been our best forward since the preseason. I tagged him as starter from game one. Ideally he's a back up, but not on this team. Do a consolidation trade for a starting forward if a good one becomes available, asking prices for those right now are crazy. So most likely we won't get that guy until the summer.

In all seriousness, what’s Carlisle problem with Mathurin? He should be starting. Hield ain’t hitting 3 and can’t play D. Brown the specialist on D, is getting cooked cuz he has no other defenders to rely on. They sacrificed offense for defense and it’s showing
Switch NeSmith for Toppin says Kevin Bowen? What… ???? We need more length, not less, on that starting five! No. Instead, you swap Nesmith and Math for Brown and Hield. Brown always came off the bench. Nesmith is prototypical 3 and d guy and Benn brings physicality if game slows down… and one of the best ways to improve defense is to slow down pace… so you need to ask yourself who are the best players in a slowed down scenario…
