SAN FRANCISCO — The Celtic blew a 17-point third quarter lead en route to a 132-126 overtime loss to the Warriors. The Celtics missed 41 3s as well as several open looks at the rim. Jaylen Brown lamented the misses but also was critical of the Celtics shot selection.
“We had open looks, and we encourage our guys to take those looks,” Brown said. “But I do think at times we have some numbers, we have an advantage, and we could have got layups and we settled for 3s. But I felt good about, for the most part, with our looks tonight. We just missed some easy ones. I missed some layups. Our guys missed some layups and they made some incredible plays defensively.”
“We had open looks; they were wide open,” Brown continues. “But sometimes when you have numbers or you’re in a transition situation, rather than taking a 3, just penetrate and go to the basket and get fouled or you get a layup. And I think we could have gotten to the free throw line a lot more.”

Jaylen is maturing beyond belief. He should have had the ball at the end of regulation because a) he's been hot, and b) Tatum turned his ankle and was not 100%, c) frank and truthful interview – his head is on straight.

Tatum is overrated, and he cannot finish either shooting jumpers or at the rim near the end of the games, but Celtics keeps allowing him to finish at the end. He has already failed in the playoffs in the last couple of years, why the coach keeps making the same mistakes. I cannot understand it.

Really wanted Brown to have the ball at the end – he's repeatedly showcased a willingness to take the shot if its there, to drive if it's open, and then dish if it closes up. Everyone in the building knew Tatum was going to walk up, and then take a contested 3. And yeah, sometimes he hits them, but not when he's that deep in his own head. Tatum is really struggling when Brown is playing well, and I dont know how they sort out these primacy issues. I think the reason the team does so well with KP in the mix is that both guys are happy to give him touches, and it spreads the Im The Man stress around to manageable levels.
