Austin Rivers?

Per Chris Haynes: https://x.com/ChrisBHaynes/status/1737501154647638317?s=20

Rivers looking for a team to join, he is obviously not going to turn the season around or anything, but he’s a vet who could help at the PG position and would probably be fairly cheap to grab considering his circumstance.

What do ya’ll think? I’m not sold but it probably couldn’t hurt. He can at least throw a lob.

I don’t hate it, what’s the worst that can happen

I’d rather trade for Jordan Clarkson than pickup rivers

My only worry is his potential effect on team culture. He’s always seemed a little bit whiny to me but maybe I’m just imagining him reflecting his dad’s coaching style on those Clippers teams back in the day.

I’m also not sure we wouldn’t be better served by trying to develop guys we know we want to keep instead of giving shots and minutes to (another) fringe NBA player, except they’re 30

If Pop isn’t playing Devontae Graham he’s not gonna play Austin Rivers

Rivers says no. He’s out to be an injury replacement for contenders.

Sure. But also no. It really doesn’t matter one way or another, they could do it and it probably wouldn’t hurt or help to any significant degree
