Yeah yeah, paywall. I won’t do my normal summary, but this is the most important bit, since it’s new:

    > If the NBA grants them the DPE, they could sign or trade for a player who makes up to half of Robinson’s salary, $7.8 million, this season without sending any money out. If they sign a player using the DPE, it must be to a one-year contract. If they trade for one using the DPE, that player must be on an expiring contract.

The one-year/expiring bit severely limits the pool we can draw from.

Is JaMychal Green or Dewayne Dedmon cooked?

My gut says Nerlens just cause he knows the squad already and it’s only a one year commitment. But 36% from the field last year in Detroit and Brooklyn is concerning.

Mason Plumlee. He’s out now but he fits the requirements. Last year on deal for $5M. Clippers signed Daniel Theis while he got hurt. Zubac starts for them so their team at the 5 position is deep. Good rebounder, 1 year rental, potentially I-Hart insurance if I-Hart decides to leave, our DPE or TPE from the Obi trade can probably get the trade done.

Can we bring back all the backup centers of the last 6+ years and sign them as 1 player? Cole Aldrich, Amundson, Hernangomez, Noel, and whoever else. I bet they’d create a decent backup all together

noel is the obvious easy choice. Khem birch I think would be an interesting add.

The DPE can be used for any player though not specifically for a Center though. We could use Fourniers contract to trade for a Center and then use the DPE to fill a different position

Mitch is a key piece of our team and the defensive anchor but with his injury history it might be time to look to upgrade from him if possible ..somebody more reliable

for a 1 year, I dead ass think Dwight Howard has it in him as a backup. He won’t have to play crazy minutes, can get us some boards, and potentially shoot 3s. Even defending, he’s probably better than Sims. I mean for 7mil, who is a realistic possibility that isn’t either washed or a end of bench scrub? We really don’t have many options.

  9. Fournier for Jonathan Isaac, he’s long, block shots, and is a great big man that can also stretch the floor from 3. He does have injury history but he’s just the back up. The Magic need 3pt shooting and Fournier solves that issue for them. It works within the cap.

I think dedmon would be a good fit. Can space more than Mitch, decent enough to play 2nd string Cs for 15 mpg

Clint Capela? Atlanta been looking to move him and he fits almost exactly the same archetype. Should be cheap to acquire him too.

  12. Dragon-Bender

Bamba has an expiring 2 million deal as the Sixers 3rd string center.

Plummlee 5 mil expiring would probably be top choice he’s always solid and is a solid passer.

Drummond 3.3 mil expiring is a great rebounder bad defender.

    Boyombo 5 mil expiring.

Muscala on the Wizards, Harry Giles on the Nets, Robin Lopez Bucks, Bol Bol Sun, Alex Len on the Kings, Poku on the Thunder,

hartenstein can replace him for now, sideshow bob can back him up when his cankle gets better

    **what’s up w melo on a 1 year tho**

he talks big about the squad on JJ’s pod

Biayambo. The grizzlies not making the playoffs anyway 😂

I’m honestly down to bring back Nerlens Noel. Just like Gibson he’s familiar with the system and should be to fit right back in.
