Not NEARLY as bad as last night let’s be honest. Franz looked a little better outside of the 3s. Our bench had some really good moments. Paolo was OK. AB is a long-term project, tonight was awful for him. WCJ is still looking rough. Gary is starting to suck. Plus we only lost by 4. Nothing else needs to be said really

  2. But “Gary Harris” hit a 3 from the logo!

Wait, it was a last second bullshit 3 that didn’t matter.

  3. RT3_Legend

At this point even Jordan Poole and his contract are worth a chance cause we’re not getting any big names who can create their own shot and hit threes like D Mitchell

  4. stinx2001

Not sure why you play WCJ so many minutes first up on a back to back. And give 0 to Goga.

Someone we could potentially get cheap is Buddy Hield. Not a huge fan of his overall game but fuck he can hit a 3.

  5. Moe Wagner can hold his head high. He was amazing.

I don’t think we played badly overall but my goodness, watching all of those 3s miss was really not fun at all. It hurts knowing we could’ve (maybe even should’ve) won this one but instead we’re on a 4 game losing streak. I don’t think Suggs and Joe being out helped but still with the personnel we have, going 8/33 from 3 is just not good enough

We actually played a great game.

We win the game comfortably if we hit shots and make FTs. We played good defense at times against a good team.

Unfortunately, I think we have reached our ceiling until we acquire shooting. We don’t even need much, just any shooting. A small move can make us a top 4 team. Without it, these guys will have done great to get top 6.

  7. I enjoyed the game, they played fluent, good defense and generated good looks. Also coming back to their strength overall.

Gianni’s better at the line as Paolo’ was rough, but overall a great improvement from last games

Downvote all you want, I love this team! No shame at losing to the bucks in their house when in a general slump. Hope we are on the way out and to me, I it looked like today.

  8. evenyetodd

Mose really thought to himself “Oh look JI is doing great, let me put Wendell back in lol”. Nah, all jokes aside, I can stomach a loss like this vs. yesterday.

IMHO, Mose very clearly didn’t care about winning this game. Hes not calling timeouts like he used to either. Goga with 0 minutes is unacceptable. Overall, I’m pretty sure the team morale is not very high right now but I hope they hang in there. We will be alright.

  9. Cthulhus-Tailor

Everyone is talking shooting, but the real difference is no Ingles or Markelle to make plays. Even the team’s shooters can’t shoot without a facilitator (see: Gary and Franz).

  10. guioligon

this roster construction is bonkers, I’m starting to think we are over .500 DESPITE our roster. we can’t shoot for shit, our starting pg is always injured and his backup won’t attempt a single damn field goal. our 3rd center was balling and we bench and cut his minutes for the starting C even though he’s not playing well.

Goga and Mo are a decent C rotation, trade WCJ and a 1st or two for anything resembling a shooter or/a PG who actually plays, send AB to the end of the bench to get Okeke minutes while he works on his game. like seriously, why is WCJ starting when Goga and Mo were playing the way they were playing?

I know it’s easier said than done but something has to happen or we’ll be lucky if we finish the season as a playoffs team. we’re figured out. everyone knows they just need to clog the paint and dare us to shoot. we might squeak a W against the bad teams, but good teams like Miami and Milwaukee will beat us if they’re at least serviceable in following the gameplan.

our future is bright independently of what the FO do and that is 100% their merit, we will be contenders in three to four years because Paolo and Franz are damn studs. but shit I wish they’d change something, anything, try a damn trade this season instead of another evaluation year. we could try to fill the needed roles while still maintaining our cap space potential for the next offseason.

also, holy cow do we miss Ingles. his presence is sorely missed every time we play. I’ve been Jingled, man.

  11. Flat_Marionberry9475

Man… Every time Giannis shoots a free throw my balls go keep company to the guy living downstairs….

  12. Programmer-Gullible

The Magic were undefeated when holding their opponents to under league average from 3. We held Milwaukee to only 30%. We are so ass from 3 to the point where we are legitimately losing games because we dare to attempt them.

  13. philip_p_donahue

Once my man Cole evolves into his final form of Dame Lillard with dreads we will be off to the races don’t stress

  14. FO is horrible for never acquiring any legitimate shooting. Mose gotta stop playing houstan there’s gotta be better players than what he’s providing all he did was one block and one rebound the entire game. There’s no point in playing a guy who’s role is to shoot and can’t shoot. Please I don’t care who’s making the decisions JI has to play more than 14 minutes a game especially if ingles is going to remain out.

  15. Honestly we didn’t look too bad besides shooting 20% from 3s. No shame in losing to the Bucks.

  16. I get we want to meltdown especially all the little in game things the last few games BUT losing to the Celtics (2) and Bucks away is hardly reason to throw hope of the playoffs out the window. That’s three losses to teams that are better at every single position than us. The Heat had a lucky 2nd quarter, it happens. Indiana we can get a result because they don’t play defense so if we hold them again, I like our chances, then Washington and then back to the gauntlet with the Sixers.

Could be worse. None of us expected this team to be in the in playoff push this season which means we are ahead of schedule and lacking in key areas that were filling space while young players got their sea legs. Maybe we make moves or maybe we ride this team out and see what we have in some of the kids. In hindsight we should have been in on the Lillard trade as a point guard is sorely lacking rn.

  17. SpideyUdaman

How they got a close game is honestly still a great thing. The 9W gave some of us a facade and felt comfortable with it. We’re feeling frustrated when we started losing. We’re talking about facing the Bucks. The other day, the Heat, and then Celtics. They’re still the best teams in the east. This may look like a reversal of the 9W, just jesting. Really, it’s just an ordeal to the journey. Our team is like a hero full of bandages, or your friendly neighborhood with a tattered costume from fighting. We aren’t complete yet, full of young members, full of experiments, full of injury management, etc. The team will get there.

We know the team is really good with one thing and that is the paint. Since they’re unreliable at three, they gotta be able to be unstoppable at paint or midrange. They also need to own their defensive prowess and become impenetrable. Not to mention own the boards, and also own the bench. Just maximizing what they’re actually good at. Some of these advantages, the team has probably peaked at some attributes, idk, but I know we’re still great on d and paint offense. There’s no impostor syndrome here. Magic right now is great; just needs to own the identity they’ve built.

  18. Totally missed the game tonight. Anyone able to give me the detailed highs and lows? Looked pretty competitive

  19. treadwater23

Gary and Franz did fine, glad Franz was better around the rim but man.. besides the last second fake three from Harris they still gave us two threes combined.. they are the ones we’re relying on to space the floor in the starting lineup and we can’t get any consistency from the three.

  20. Loading_Scr33n

Okay guys, time to trade for a sharp shooting guard. Evan Fournier

  21. gabelliot93

if we were healthy we are probably winning this. Suggs and ingles would’ve made a big difference. At this point give chuma minutes over Houstan because idk what he brings to the team

  22. Hardwork407

2nd game of a back to back. Lots of stuff to improve on m, but I still love this team as is when 100% healthy. GO MAGIC!!!!

  23. This team is out of the playoff race come January as long as Mosely and Weltman continue to run this team into the ground

  24. Honestly, I want to believe that getting three-point shooters would help this team. But I don’t think Mosley actually knows how to use any three-point shooters. We have three-point shooters on this team and they can’t seem to make a bucket because Mosley doesn’t seem to be able to put them in positions to do so.

  25. NikThaGreat9

We’re not going anywhere until we retool the roster. Plain and simple. If Franz is going to be this bad of a shooter the PG can’t be totally useless from 3. Paolo and Suggs are decent enough shooters and should probably shoot more. Sad that WCJ has basically lost all confidence in the 3 ball too when I thought it was developing nicely with him. It’s not a total dealbreaker since he’s a decent lob threat though.

Yeah, but as soon as Ingles is back Cole should move to starting PG. Ingles is a good enough ball handler and creator to hopefully keep our bench production at a pretty high level. And we desperately need the spacing that Cole would provide over Black.

  26. treadwater23

There needs to be more variance in the starting lineup. It worked when Paolo and Franz were playing well and hitting shots, but now there’s too much overlap. It’s a roster issue too, big time. Our shooters can’t actually shoot and our roster is so injury prone that there is always someone having to play out of position or too many minutes. Black and Jett honestly shouldn’t play much at all if we want to win. There’s a reason Cam and Amen aren’t playing much for the Rockets, Jarace for the Pacers, etc. The only team that can play two rookies 15+ mins right now are the Jazz and they’re pretty bad.. and they JUST started playing Hendricks.

Black and Suggs can both be POA dawgs but it doesn’t matter if we have no spacing. We’d be in a horrible position with most of our guards if Suggs was shooting badly this year again, with 3 of them being decent defenders and no threat on the outside. We’re having to rely on an old ass Ingles to be the fix to a lot of problems.

Franz, WCJ and Paolo are all turning into similar players too like I pointed out in the GT – it’s nice they can all do their damage from inside, but they’re all kind of finesse bigs at the moment who have the same problems. You can’t have nobody in our starting lineup being an elite, reliable shooter in 2023.

  27. most_unoriginal_ign

And another one! Oh well. We are still a growing team and learning to pay together! Just got WC back. Just let them play.

  28. It’s just really frustrating watching us struggle to score. Basically every time a shot goes in that’s outside the paint, I’m surprised. Meanwhile Milwaukee and a whole bunch of other teams have these players who can just score whenever, wherever. Like watching Middleton today.. he would be our best scorer by a mile. We have no one who can create offense like that. It’s supposed to be Paolo, but he’s not there yet. If Cole was 5 inches taller he’d be one of the best players in the league. Franz hit a 3 and I thanked the basketball gods, but he’s still struggling. I know we’re missing players still, but we’re still a long way from being anything serious. Still an improvement from last couple years, but that win streak sure did set us up for disappointment.

  29. Effective_Owl_17

Isaac needs to play more… I understand they want to be cautious but it’s getting ridiculous to constantly take him out when he’s helping. Black needs to be benched until he wants to contribute. I swore rookies were gonna have to earn minutes? A starting pg with 1 point is insane. Understand he’s a rook but if you aren’t gonna do anything offensively you gotta hit the bench

  30. Comfortable_One7716

Btw the reason our shooters aren’t hitting threes is because there are no PLAYMAKERS to set them up
