Miami Heat: Tyler Herro, busting narratives? | Five on the Floor

Tyler Herro has been back two games, and hasn’t missed a beat. Now he’s at close to 25/5/5 on the season, on efficient overall shooting. So should there still be a narrative that less is more for him? Ethan and Alex dig into the numbers, and the narratives.

  1. Tyler consistently being unavailable during the playoffs since his rookie year is the problem everyone has. We all know he is a pretty good regular season player that puts up borderline All-Star stats. His role is to carry as as a scorer in the regular season so that Jimmy cam save enough to lead us to 16 wins in the playoffs so that we can host that trophy.

  2. When Tyler plays with the roll players it’s his offense and the roll players are moving around. Same when Jimmy plays and Tyler is on the bench.

The problem is when they play together Tyler has the ball Jimmy is just hanging around the 3 in a corner and his defender sagging off. Neither Tyler or Jimmy play off ball… when one has the ball the other is a non factor on offense.

During the 4th when Jimmy comes in we don’t get Bam his shots like in the first half of games. When this team figures out how to get Tyler, Jimmy, and Bam to play together we’ll reach the next level.

Individually our 3 stars are great, but as a unit there’s a lot more to be desired.
