How much would Capella cost us?

ATL gonna ask for Reaves & every pick & Washington probably scarred from the Rui deal last season.

But what are realistic deals for these centers?

  1. Clippers are probably gonna get him for cash considerations with their luck

Two things to keep in mind:

    1. It’s December so all asking prices are high.

    2. The Hawks are 10th in the East so there’s no reason to be selling right now.

That said, unprotected FRP, Hood-Schfino, and whoever to make the money work.

Closer to the deadline, depending on the Hawks’ record, it’d be a lot more reasonable.

I’ve said it multiple times but we need to offer a few 2nds for Kelly Olynyk. He would be a nice fit alongside AD and can actually rebound and shoot.

I posted this on another post about possible centers.

Here are some of mine best on what they do and their contract as well as our needs (rebounding, interior defense, bruiser)

    1. Daniel Gafford: Probably my second favorite on my list but also most acquirable so he goes first. 6’10, 235 lb. High energy and athletic as well as a great rebounder and shot blocker. He’s young and fits the rest of our guys. Not other worldly defense but can affect shots at the rim. He’s making MLE money (13.3m) and would only take someone like Gabe Vincent to get it done. Offensively not doing much for you besides putbacks and dunks but he does have a soft touch around the rim.
    2. Wendell Carter Jr.: Probably my favorite on this list but haven’t seen any trade rumors but Rob should inquire anyways. 6’10, 259 lb with a long wingspan. He’s one of the very few centers in the league who can slow Jokic down. Basically a double double machine and very good finisher and has been expanding his midrange game. He’s only making 12.5m for the next 3 years. Very nice contract which makes it less likely that ORL will be inclined to trade him. However, he’s been injured the past few weeks and ORL has been playing great without him.
    3. Nick Richards: 6’11, 240 lb, elite shot blocker and very cheap contract (3y, 15m). He focuses a lot on the defensive end with his high energy and runs fast too. Very raw offensively but has shown some improvements. Not an out of world athlete but he makes up for it with his energy. CHA might be willing to move him and Nnaji since they have a bunch of centers already.
    4. James Nnaji: He’s only a rookie with zero games played. 19 years old but 6’11, 250 lb with a huge NBA ready body who can bang with almost everyone. That said he is also a rookie with zero games played because he’s still signed with FC Barcelona. If Lakers trade for him, they would have to buy out his contract. Quick on his feet and high flier. Good shot blocker and rebounder but outside of that he doesn’t provide much. Still very raw offensively and only started playing basketball at an older age I believe. Out of everyone on this list, he’d be the cheapest to acquire.
    5. Kelly Olynyk: Someone that always seems to kill the Lakers and very annoying to play against. Also doesn’t fit the center that Lakers need (big bruiser type) but he can definitely provide an offensive punch. Defensively, he can hold his own but not major part of his game. Definitely can hold his own though while AD is sitting. He can stretch the floor and would do well playing with AD on the floor. Making MLE money as well as an expiring.

  5. I’d rather have Gafford tbh. He’s younger, has longer team control and is on a more reasonable contract than capela imo ($13m/yr vs. $21m/yr). He’d likely cost less in terms of assets as well

Us specifically? AD, LeBron, and a few first.

28 other teams? Probably salary and a few 2nds.

  7. Odd-Direction9452

If Capela is available he should jump to the list as the top target. Having that rim protection and vertical spacing would raise the floor of the team on both ends. Also forces Darvin to start the game big. Would be interested in knowing what the price could be for Hunter too

no no…gafford is far and away the center we need

  9. Fuck Capela he’s washed, he won’t fix lakers issues, lakers best bet is Daniel Gafford, solid Interior defense and nice touch around the rim, I thought he wouldn’t be that much of a help but still solid but even the boy Trevor Lane agreed with me on Daniel gafford and now I’m even more confident gafford is exactly what this team needs a solid defensive boost with a bit of a offensive boost as well.

No trade will matter if Ham’s rotations wont let them get any minutes.

  11. They gotta make trades to focus on the future instead of just win now mode. The reality is that this team is phasing out of contention. Not many trades outside of somehow getting Curry or another top players is bringing them back into it.

  12. LeFatigue

I mean idk, but DLo and Rui with a pick attached for Capela and a wing ain’t too bad.
