The Minnesota Timberwolves took their time to take control but ultimately put together a well-rounded performance in a victory over the LeBron James-less Los Angeles Lakers on the second night of a back-to-back. Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) breaks down the win, from Anthony Edwards’ strong second half to the fun that Chris Finch had with a gigantic, never-seen-before lineup. Plus, shoutouts for Mike Conley and Kyle Anderson as the vets helped close out another win after Karl-Anthony Towns left with an injury.

Truth…Love Ant but he misses 5 or 6 really dumb shots per game that others arn't. He plays hero ball too much. He needs to be talked to. Going for a layup against two or three guys multiple times a game is really bad. How about him bringing down the ball and nobody's around him and he just trucks up at 3 with 2 of thier guys under the basket? Happens all the time. He could be so much better if he were to play within himself like Kat does now.
Gotta say, a lineup of Ant, McDaniels, KAT, Naz, and Rudy is just so freaking big. I am not sure how any team could match up with that.
I feel like there's a 1 second window in the half court where not everyone is set defensively that quick guards are absolutely killing us in. Like when it's not quite transition and whoever brought the ball up just sees the D getting to their spots and just rushes the basket. Not sure if that's just a feature that we have to live with or if it's the point of attack defender needing to hedge out a little. It killed us against Philly and Sacramento, lakers had a handful but couldn't seem to keep making it happen
