  1. It's genius. Collecting young cheap assets. Getting a high draft pick this year with all the cap in the league this summer to build a true team. They have a solid defensive center core in Durren and Stewart. They have a potentially great point in Ivey to keep or trade. They have 3 point guards behind him, Hayes and Monte are both expiring and Sasser is a proven shooter already. Thompson shooting will get better and he's already elite at the little things. Bogdanovic has trade value. There's one big question… is Cade going to be the main focus?
I'd love them too trade for Draymond Green. He's suspended, so it won't hurt the tank. Draymond can become the leader they need to turn everything around… it's the perfect story.
    Stewart Durren
    Draymond
    Bogdanovic Thompson
    Cade
    Ivey Sasser

  2. To be fair, the Spurs are just as far into their rebuild and not much better than the Pistons. And they have had the stability of one of the best coaches of all time. They also have a team stacked with high draft picks and only have two more wins.

The Pistons don't have the worst pt differential in the league, they are not the worst offensively, or defensively on a pts basis. A lot of this really comes down to the inability to close games. Twelve games in clutch time. Just one or two wins in those games and we aren't even talking about them.

If you look at the Pistons draft picks its hard to fault them based on the info available at the time. People were really high on Hayes(who has a 4.1 turnover/assist ratio this year), Stewart, Duran, Cade, Ivey, Thompson. No one was roasting them for any of these picks.

They have by all means not done everything right, but how many teams do.

  3. Pistons fans were crossing their fingers hoping the Kings wouldn’t draft Jaden Ivey at 4. They were elated when the Kings drafted Keegan instead of Jaden. They got who they wanted.

  4. Tossing this out into the void: Stephen Silas got his nba start under his dad Paul. They coached together on that (!!!!!) bobcats team with Kemba Augustine Maggette etc.

At least he’s in familiar territory

  5. Shut these guys up. They just rant how bad a team is but never really understood it. Just stats and stuff but never really researched. Yeah, Detroit is bad but you didn't discuss the motives and yet you bash Troy Weaver like he never did anything. The team is in a prime position to have a huge salary space and there are no bad contracts. This is the year that they want to see what is in their hands and how to surround Cade. Yes, it turned out to be bad but that is part of the experiment. Pistons didn't have much time to assess Cade Cunningham last season due to the injury. Stan Van Gundy left the team with no tradeable assets like Reggie Jackson, Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin. OKC had SGA to start with while Orlando gave away Vucevic, Gordon and Fournier while they still have value. The team is technically building from scratch. This is like the the official second year with Cade Cunningham and the team's starters is younger than the Michigan State Spartans. You also showed a fact that they are missing open shots with Bojan with the team…. heck he has not played many games along with Monte Morris and Joe Harris who are acquired to be shooters! Troy Weaver is doing a good job with the cards he was dealt. Do your research. Just a bunch or ranters who does not understand it. How bad a team is and you are one of those casuals who just want Troy Weaver out or fire someone for a quick fix? LOL Such basketball intelligence. Get a job at the gasoline station instead of branding yourself as 'The Athletic'

  6. Luv…da the factz!!! Now it hurts a little less. Sell da team! Fire coach and da GM now please! The worst combo in history!

  7. Thank you for talking about this. As a pistons fan, I’ve genuinely struggled to understand how they’re this bad. This helped.

  8. If troy draft haliburton and maxey we a be contending right now but troy fumbled first draft put us back a year plus we started rebuild with absolutely no assets minus brown who a really good role player

  9. Just letting you know that if you’re gonna title this as ten facts, with YouTube as the way it is nowadays a lot of people are gonna expect either timestamps or a list/overlay/graphics to see or navigate the list of facts.

  10. This is why the Rockets overpaid for Vanvleet. Fred knows he's not going to win a ring with the Rockets, but he's a pro and works hard.
Apologies to Bojan, Burks and Joe Harris, but these aren't the grizzled veterans that can lead a locker room.
The Bagley contract is inexcusable. It should have been an overpay for a vet for the same price.
Edit: lol, Rockets gave old Jeff Green $10M / yr for 2 years.
