During the 18 games where Lavine played, only 4 Bulls players averaged double digits in points per game this season. 3 of them are 14+ (Lavine, DeRozan, and Vucevic)
In the last 12 games where he’s out, 5 Bulls players averaged double digits in points per game this season. 4 of them are 14+ (White, DeRozan, Vucevic, and Williams)
Bulls offensive rating in 18 games where Zach played: 111.6 (26th in league)
Without in last 12 games: 119.7 (14th in league)
Bulls defensive rating in 18 games where Zach played: 117.4 (21st in league)
Without in last 12 games: 115.7 (11st in league)
So the question is you really want a guy who makes his team worse with a salary of $178m in the next 4 years?

Compare the missing / injured players from when Zach Lavine was playing versus now. Are they more successful because they’re healthier or?
No getting him would be a bad mistake.
Correlation not causation. there could be a number of factors that contributed to Chicagos success. Also, if Lavine were to come here to a place he’s not the 1st option, – I’d imagine it’d look completely different
Yes
If we could get him in a multi team trade that gives the lakers a mid level playmaker, back up 4. I would trade for him.
11st
I want our boy Caruso back
Hell nawl
i dont even want lavine but this level of low iq analysis forces me to defend him. using winning as a measure of a players worth isnt the best method, pau was getting swept every year in the first round but the lakers traded for the player and the skillset and not the playoff record.
lavine has a perfect complimentary skillset to play next to bron and ad, the issue is his injury history and contract.
Caruso and Vuc although it won’t happen
Not saying I’m for or against a deal for Lavine but I think it would be an interesting fit as a 3rd option on offense. We aren’t asking him to be the 1A or 1B guy on this team and maybe that would open his game up where as the Bulls rely on him to be their top guy. So I think you can definitely can make an argument about that stat and how their teams playing without him but maybe he’s just not the right fit there with what they’ve got. I’m open minded to a deal but it just depends who goes out and if we can get anything else back in return.
Dude, we are starting D’Angelo Russell.
Until the trade deadline a better option can be available, but you talk like our starting PG is at least playable in playoffs. Damn, we start Reddish and Prince as the only way to have Dlo on the floor just to see how much of a liability he is on defense while his offensive production is always floating.
LaVine is a good player with a few significant caveats that makes trading for him a bad idea:
1. His contract limits the team’s ability to improve especially with the more punitive CBA. We’ve already seen firsthand what three players taking up that much cap space does.
2. He isn’t good enough to gamble on his injury history. You do that with an elite player like AD. The tier or two below? Nope, especially not with three years left on his deal after this current one.
3. He doesn’t solve either of the Lakers’ biggest needs: playmaking and a strong, defensive big. LaVine addresses shooting which I consider the Lakers’ third biggest need.
Why overvalue a team full of intriguing-but-inconsistent role players (i.e. the Lakers) over a solid scorer and All-Star, when the current “depth” is resulting in losses?
Bron has a small window. If the team isn’t working as currently constructed, then they have to shake things up. **I don’t think LAL gets worse with Zach** ***IF*** **they keep AR.**
**In fact, from the Bulls’ perspective, I don’t think they believe LAL has anyone good enough to trade for Zach except AR** (assuming Bron and AD are untouchable, of course).
Zach Lavine is hurt, no shit other players are or should step up in his absence how is this even a post ?? This happens a lot when teams’ top scorers are out. This isn’t even a valid argument between these two.
What’s a Caruso-Vucevic trade for the Lakers look like? That’s much better imo
Lavine has 5 games of playoff experience as well. Why is everyone so hellbent on him? Dudes basketball game has been overrated since the dunk contests
I’d rather Derozan hinestly, Zach is a chucker who gets pouty without touches…give me guys who know there role and can chill if they are 3rd behind Brin and AD on offense. IMO derozan efficiency eith go up crazy playing 3rd to those 2
Lavine can put up sexy stats but to me he should be a 6th man, not a starter anymore
Every time we play Sacramento I think of what could have been had we picked FOX
I think if you don’t give up picks or Reaves, this is a major upgrade. Bulls were incredible with Lonzo for the half season he was healthy and LaVine has been part of elite defenses last few years.
Now imagine him next to LeBron as his best scorer/playmaker instead DeRozan and AD as his best big instead of Vuc. He’s also only 28, you’d get him in his peak prime years of 28-32. That’s incomparable to Russ. If you could get back Caruso too that’s great.
He is so overrated..
1- volume shooter
2- bad defender
3- injury prone
4- 200 million contract
there is a reason in 9 years he only played 4 playoffs games.
The Pistons last won a game with that bum trying to take over the game and putting up 51 empty points. He absolutely is not what the Lakers need lol.
The guy I want is someone who can score WIDE OPEN threes consistently
