Precious Achiuwa had the highest USG % on the team against Philly
Precious with a team high USG% 28.6 and Scottie with the 5th highest USG% 19.5 against Philly last night. This is what Darko has envisioned with this team. Precious being the hub of the offence.
I mean it looks like Flynn had the highest to me, but yeah I get your point

Is it Darko’s fault that’s he’s empowering him or is it Precious low IQ, thinking he deserves the touches?

He only played 16 minutes with 9 FGA and one turnover though. You can argue that he shouldn’t be playing at all, but who off of the bench would you like to see getting his minutes and taking those shots instead? Malachi? Grady?
You also can’t compare USG% between players with such a large discrepancy in minutes, or without considering how much time on the court the two players shared. And looking at USG% over the course of one game doesn’t tell you much in the first place. The straight-up comparison between Scottie and Precious based on their USG% for one game isn’t a valid use of that metric.
I can guarantee you that Darko has no intention of featuring Precious over Scottie in the offence.

We’ve all seen enough. He doesn’t have what it takes to be more than a bench player.

It’s because he does dumb shit and forces things ever time he touches the ball

He’s been getting a lot of run as of late. Scottie should have had higher.

I had high hopes for Precious but it doesn’t look like he’s getting any better. If anything he got worse in his role. Everytime he touches the ball the offense dies with it

I think at this point it’s on Scottie to shoot the rock more. Way too many times he kicks it to someone late in the clock and precious or McDaniels or Malachi takes a contested shot. Last year it was on the vets not getting him involved, this year he needs to be the guy

He had a 90 second stretch in the 2nd quarter where he missed 2 shots in the paint (one blocked), and missed an open 3. After that he was immediately taken out of the game. He then missed 3 shots (one of them off his own offensive rebound) in 2 minutes of garbage time at the end of the game.
This isn’t a case of the team drawing up plays for him, it’s an aberration where he shot high volume in 4 minutes of game time, 2 of which were when game was already over.

I want off the Precious experiment. He just doesn’t play smart basketball.

If only you could teach Scottie vision or Lowry IQ to Precious. With his physical tools, he’d be a monster.

Achiuwa has some obvious skills and athleticism. They just need to really narrow his role. He can drive, handle, and shoot… but not yet at an NBA level. He needs to play defense and catch lobs
