Great pod guys. yall deserve more love from mavericks fans. i discovered you all from getting your guys' streams on my reccomended (presumably because I watch alot of kevin gray sports/locked on mavs/slightly biased/grant afseth) and I don't regret it. Apple music might have been 70% of yalls podcast downloads before but I'm sure you guys will start to pop in youtube once the algorithm corrects for you.
This was a scheduled loss but to get blown out by that much sucks. Was always going to be a L with Kyrie and D Live out and Luka clearly not being 100% mad he still puts up 38 whilst being sick! Mavs need a trade and need a bigger 4.
About Hardy you can put the blame on kidd more than him since he runs no actions AT ALL. Mavs are leading the league in 3PA for a reason because that is luka ball. If they had a semblance of coaching they could get a lot more out of the talent they have.

There is no coaching strategy. It's Kidd saying "oh luka's great, we can't take him for granted, yeah we just didnt make shots". Hello???? how about some actual organized basketball plays when luka ball isn't working. Kidd is also useless at motivating his players. He is NOT a good coach. The roster is bad, but Kidd is giving up.
Fans are so mad because Luka is playing so hard trying to keep the team afloat like last year, and we know how that ended, they know he deserves better, and they are being robbed of truly good basketball. Expectations are this way because you have a top 3 player making miracles, you're not getting the usual timetable. It feels like playing trade machine fanspo instead of playing basketball. So frustrating.

grant williams 1 good game since the hot streak to start the season was coming back from the knee injury-i just wonder if he needs to be basically 100% to be good, and if he has any booboos he falls off a cliff
Hello Kirk and Josh! I appreciate the positivity (which frankly for you guys is weird 😂). This team has had great stretches and they are definitely not the best team in the league but they do have the best single player in the world and when guys are hitting shots around him they have been really good. They are not losing to bad teams when they have some semblance of their guys and have a lot of room to get better, develop young guys, and most importantly get healthy.
Im with you with Grant and Hardy. DJJ however still affects the game on D.

the same people that talk shit about luka when play a bad defensive possession.. call grant williams one of the best defender… williams has been trash on D all year, talk about how they perform instead of judging player by the past. Yall see THJ watch on D and say nothing then luka after carrying the load for 3 quarters, dont try hard on D one possession and every mavs podcaster talking about it on the pod.. ahahah yall are funny, every mavs podcaster open the pod saying luka played bad on D this possession and that possession, meanwhyle the player payed to play D get a pass
You guys are right on. They are still digging out of hole. I think Kuzma is the hail mary. There was a moment early in their careers where Kuzma stood eye-to-eye with Tatum. Question: Who else really needs Kuzma at $25M? It also helps that he may want to play with Luka and Kai. What about Gallinari?
For me, all roads lead back to Kidd. Think about how long it took for him to get around to Exum (who doesn't need a pick to get into the paint).
Kirk being quasi positive is ok. Pollyannish Nick is less blindly positive and that’s good too.
One point about becoming a championship team is you need to learn to win the close games. Wonder improvement on that this season.
Thanks for the pod guys! I thought Grant would be a lot better on defense but I’m not surprised by his offensive production. At least Dante Exum is showing out and Luka has been playing like the MVP
You guys are fighting a straw man with Stewart; especially for the guys that want Dallas to build the team the “right way”. No one thinks Dallas is a championship team this year(Luka included) and it’s an obvious meme that we won’t trade a first round pick for freaking Beef Stew. THJ needs to be sold high and the Pistons are a desperate team with a player that has potential but is hamstrung. He has little value so trade Tim (who isn’t in our long term plans) before he gets cold and one 2nd. That does no damage to the team and helps out depth, defense, rebounding and mostly energy. That trade is the easiest win ever but I do assume someone would be able to one up it with another 2nd or a younger player. I mean I would trade Josh but I hear it’s hell with their contracts.
Also since we aren’t a championship contented do u guys really not think there is any chance a 23 year old that has started to shoot the three and has insane switching potential defensively can’t improve in 18 months. Don’t get hung up on what he is now but what he can be. We aren’t talking about that big man we traded for two years ago Stewart had actual talent.
Also three first round picks for Stew is insanely that is pointless to bring up. Even the Thunder with their 30 first round picks would never do that. Maybe one and salary but jeez yall are boxing ghosts.
