In which the Splash Brothers I thought were fantastic again to me you know the 55 points six threes from Klay Thompson another 28o performance for Klay who has been shooting the hell out of the basketball as of late supplemented by what Curry continues to do reading the

Defense knew he wasn’t going to miss a three this time because against Portland on Sunday did not make a single three-pointer he came out and made a three in the first 40 seconds against the Trailblazers and he ends up with 27 and then the young guys with what

They’re able to help the old guys do in this game which is put away a team that they should and definitively beat an opponent that they are better than and that is the Portland Trailblazers the young guys the combination of Jonathan kaminga Brandon Pensky who was incredible in this game and then even

Though he may not have had a great first half I think overall Trace Jackson Davis had a solid game he also got contributions Off the Bench for Moses Moody who was a plus six in 17 minutes and an overall good game in a much better game than he’s played in in

Recent weeks for cavon Looney I thought he was incredible tonight as well dorio charage continues to do what he does Off the Bench and how about Chris Paul I mean the age-old time old veteran 27 minutes third straight game with 10 or more assists for Chris Paul and up a

Plus n Off the Bench as the Golden State Warriors rack up a season High 38 assists tonight against Portland now and this is where I would say two or three weeks ago this is a type of game that I don’t know if I can Envision and what I mean by that is

This the Warriors shot 30% from three-point range they made 10 threes they committed 16 turnovers I think three weeks ago this is a game that they might beat Portland but they do it in the fashion that they had beaten San Antonio that they beat Portland earlier a couple of Thursdays

Ago in which they’re able to win by single digits it kind of comes down to the wire but they find a way to win and we’re looking at what kind of game this was no the Golden State Warriors did not shoot it objectively well tonight from three outside of Klay Thompson you take

Quarter they outscored Portland in the third quarter the Splash Brothers to begin that half and this is also where I think it look I know they didn’t completely run away with the game in the third quarter but in the last few second halves before Washington we did see the

Warriors at times they you know they buildt some double digit leads right and they go into the break up 11 then we begin to see or had seen teams kind of make their pushes especially out of the locker room the Splash Brothers weren’t having it tonight the first 22 points

Pardon me first 20 points of that quarter were scored by the Splash Brothers including an incredible personal 110 run by Klay Thompson in which he hit just a quintessential Klay Thompson 3 he gets it on the right wing after I think he had already hit two

Threes in a jump shot and he just kind of hoist it was a classic well he don’t really like the shot but it’s a clay heat check he throws it up there and gets the shooters bounce right of the rim off the glass and in and it was uh

The way I break down because I think Kerr’s right they do have too many good players for the amount of rotation spots that realistically you’re going to be playing in a regular season game yes but also and I don’t mind getting too far ahead of ourselves because I think the

Warriors are a playoff team who knows how far they can go but if you’re looking at a playoff rotation that generally doesn’t include on an Ideal night eight or nine or pardon me more than eight or nine guys so the Warriors rotation right now let’s just take the

Game tonight because it’s been largely based on what they’ve done over the last week you got your starting five you got Curry clay pky kaminga Looney now Looney played 22 minutes tonight was a plus 15 he played more because I thought he played well in fact he along with psky

Had think about this they both had seven assists that’s the most assists from the starting lineup now Chris Paul had 11 Off the Bench but have I told you that cavon Looney BR and shensky were going to be the leaders of the starting lineup in assist

I I don’t know if I would have taken that bet before the game so it just goes to show how well they’ve been passing as a whole uh and of course along with Looney um you know to me I think Trace Jackson Davis is forcing his his way in

I was also glad to see that Kurt went back to trace Jackson Davis in the second half because he didn’t play particularly well in the first half um I saw some people out there tweeting about how they didn’t like that the guys that were out there with him no I think I

Think tjd had his had his first tough stretch in what like a week I mean I don’t think that’s crazy guys are going to have down stretches they’re also going to be able to bounce back and have good stretches like tjd did in the second half he was a minus 7 in the

First half he was a plus six in the second half ended up with 13 points and five rebounds along with a steel and finished the majority of his looks around the rim which is what they need him to um did go one and four the free throw line but that’s something we can

Work on so I was glad to see that tjd was given a second rope and I thought he played well in his second half s it was the big Warriors why the warrior big reason why the Warriors able to roll in the second half so to me the rotation

Again Klay Curry kaminga Looney pky you’re looking at the bench of CP3 Trace Jackson Davis Dario Char and then Moses Moody to me those are pretty much the nine now I know Cory Joseph G Santos a couple of other guys got in but those are your nine for right now and while

Kerr has said that in the past playing 10 is difficult to do I think there needs to be some room and this would be why so gp2 Wiggins and Draymond come back I actually think I think Wiggins probably slides in a little bit easier just because he had been a part of the

Beginning of this win streak on the home stand and he was playing 20 to 25 minutes tonight uh also had been playing less if he hadn’t been been playing well but remember Wiggins up on Sunday in Portland was a big reason why they won that game went four of six from downtown

Had 26 points he played well against the Trailblazers uh did not play very well against Boston so you he’s going to be inconsistent but he’s going to get a minutes so that’d be your 10th guy right now I think that the odd man out at this

Point which I hate to say because I think he was really good tonight and played well in the 17 minutes would be Moses Moody and that to me is where gp2 kind of fits in because I think you need gp2 against some you know athletic teams

Uh you need him on the perimeter I think he can also play you know a dunker spot position and I’m curious to see how many minutes gp2 takes away from Pensky because to me that’s the player that he’s most Akin into I think psky does more on the offensive side I think gp2

Is a slightly better Defender but then again pods made a couple of great plays on defense including I forget who he stripped it might have been Brogden but he had an Iguodala like strip in the first half in which he just played with all Instinct Instinct and so I think

He’s beginning to make strides on the defensive side as well the the elephant of the room is Draymond Green and I really wonder how he is going to fit back into this because I do think at the end of the day he’s got to play I know there’s been a lot of people

Saying well you got to trade Draymond you got to move him I don’t think that’s going to happen and I think the bigger question is how does he reintegrate himself with this team to me he is going to be someone that’s going to have to because again this is going to be like

Three I ideally three weeks out maybe longer but this isn’t a question that they’re going to have to answer for a few more weeks so we’re going to have more of a sample size to choose from and I think that games on the next home stand for the next seven against some

Better teams will give us more of an insight to that but I think Draymond Green is going to have to work his way back and what what I mean by that is when he comes back he might not start and he’s going to have to look himself

In the mirror and see where he is going to help this team whether it’s as a rebounder a Defender a passer um how is he going to fit with this group because this group is playing some damn good basketball right now and I think he’s smart enough to know that he doesn’t

Want to wreck that he wants to help that or at least he should and that’s what I hope to see from Dr when he comes back I want to know what people feel about what Steve ker said before the game as far as his rotation the amount of good players

That doesn’t necessarily need the ball to get Buckets and I think from watching the game people can see that too like he can get his own shot anytime he wants but he’s also playing within the rhythm of the off defense and being able to get some putbacks being able to get some

Some TAPS at The Rim being able to take a guy off the dribble to go around scoot Henderson seeing a rookie that he’s got keeps him on his hip takes him left finishes at the rack for an an one psky he was one of five from three-point

Range tonight but I thought he he just knows how to use angles to slice his way to the cup he’s also good at you know either cutting off of screens um finding open Cutters you know I I think these guys are playing well together off defensively and the points to me what

Clinching the five straight in a row at home let’s hear from the head coach of the Golden State Warriors Steve Kerr and what he thought about the convincing Victory uh 38 assists tonight how does uh what does that say about sort of your depth and and how you guys are moving

The ball around and getting everyone involved yeah it was a it was a beautiful uh offensive game after the the early turnovers you know Portland uh is very aggressive defensively and they got a lot of athletes they they bothered us early in the game with their pressure

And then once we uh got a little better organized and and uh got more under control um we had some great possessions um Chris continues to just um operate the team so smoothly and um lot of guys are really uh playing at a high level so it’s fun to watch tonight Clay’s been

You know playing really well for a little while now what what have you specifically seen work for him is it a matter of his shots just falling down or has he been changing something shot selection is the biggest thing with Clay um I think over the last five

Games um he’s just taking better shots um and as a result our team is more settled um we just we just feel um like we’re operating uh more efficiently you know he’s coming off screens if he’s open he’s shooting it if he’s not he’s moving it and and uh when he does that

Um he’s he’s at his best and we’re at our best and you take into consideration just as a followup what he said about clay but then also stiffs always shooting well but everybody seems to be playing well and you said after the Celtics win that it seemed as if that

Win could push you guys and give you a headed into this season well the rest of this season and it seems like that has been the case what’s the feel I’m always asking about the feel but what’s the feel you know cuz it seems like everybody feels pretty good right now

Yeah the vibe is good um you know we have a lot of leadership in the locker room and I think you know the guy I want to point out tonight is cavon um you know the last four games or so haven’t gone his way at all um Trace has played

So well so a lot of lons have gone to trace and every single night every day at practice he’s a rock he’s leading um he’s he’s been great on the bench um advising guys uh giving advice during timeouts um cheering them on when they’re playing well um I think you know

The true definition of a leader is someone who leads when things aren’t going well for himself and um that’s what makes Lon so special is um that’s who he is and then you just know that things are going to turn back around like they did tonight um and um you know

He had 11 boards seven assists um I thought he was fantastic tonight and that’s that’s who he’s been um his whole career just totally professional kind of an old soul a a lot of wisdom and um steady as they come so we’re lucky to have loon I I would Echo that sentiment

Cavon Looney by the way that was Steve Kerr of course after the Warriors beat the Portland trailb by 20 tonight but cavon Looney I think has been guy that has been lost because of what Trace Jackson Davis has done as of late but he has not been playing great basketball

And tonight was perhaps his best game of the season in 22 minutes racked up 11 rebounds the six offensive boards for a guy who last year was the leader as far as offensive rebounding rate in the NBA and also was great a great passer tonight seven assists for cavon Looney

Those was the second most on the team along with Brandon pmy so plus 15 and 22 minutes a big shout out big UPS to Big Lon because to Steve K’s credit he has apparently been doing it off the floor and I’m glad to see it kind of culminate

Be turning a corner I’m not ready to put him in Championship contention either but they look like they’re beginning to turn a corner he also said something interesting that I think has gone through a lot of people’s minds about the I guess kind of Full Circle potential reality that we’re beginning

To see which is when Draymond Green got an opportunity to start in the 20145 season it was because of an injury David Lee missed the beginning of that year and Draymond Green flourished he blossomed it was a big reason why the Warriors started 20 and2 that year

There’s still a long way to go and there’s going to be a long time before we see Draymond Green again because of his indefinite suspension but I do think we’re beginning to see The Accelerated ascendance of someone like Jonathan kaminga and to maybe a lesser extent Brandon Pensky who are getting

Opportunities in the starting lineup because of the absence of Draymond tonight the absence of Wiggins and then of course the injury to Gary Payton the second but these guys are making the most of their opportunity the way that Draymond made the most of his back in 20145 I’m not saying that kaminga is

Going to step in and automatically make the Warriors title contenders and that he’s going to go on to be a future Hall of Famer like Draymond Green did but it sure would be something interesting to see that come full circle and I am getting to the point now I still got to
