ESPN “SHOCKED” Pistons fall to Nets 126-115, tie single-season record with 26th loss in a row
Bounce back wi for them there was really only one little lapse maybe halfway through that second quarter Detroit forced five Turners turnovers in a row but the Nets just took back that Tempo and kept it sustained it you never thought for one second that the Nets
Were going to lose this one I think that was really important they kept it out of sight didn’t allow Detroit to get confident and to feel that that sense where hey maybe we can win this game they shot the ball pretty well actually tonight but just weren’t able to pull
Even within a close range to beat the then that’s tonight let’s dig into the highlights we’re going to go right to the second half they led by nine going into the third quarter swag down the street with your red lips and funky beat you better hold
Your head up to the sky I’m going to r with you till the day I die hey swing those hips around Can’t Stop hold back down my ladies sh T in all right always down and ready to ride one by one billion by billion then holding up half the
Sky raise your hand if you’re ready and willing if you know it’s time time for over go time time for on where you’re ready or now time for pulls it back knocks it down from three what a game he had too and that’s end up pulling this one out pretty easy
121 106 at that point the final 126 to 115 Mel Bridges showing the way with 26 points 29 Points rather nine of 17 from the field six rebounds seven assists so many ways we can go with this Julianne the first thing I want to ask you about is something you touched on
And I think it’s very important is the fact that we didn’t want to see any let down right they had started slow that had become a bit of a pattern that was worrisome last night they played a terrific game and today they kept their focus when at times they could have lost
It right and I think that’s the key to a team that is growing in maturity is you want to see them continue to keep the focus and do the little things and I thought they did the little things well they rebounded the basketball they looked to push it they out leted the
Ball a lot of players touched the ball you saw so many players seven players in double figures here tonight for the Brooklyn Nets but you’re right they never had a let down after last night I think last night’s game was a really good game for Brooklyn they they got a
Taste of the chance to beat the best team in the NBA and they could have done it it was Within Reach and so I think that was a confidence booster in a sense for them even though they took that loss but you sort of felt that that feeling
Coming back that confident feeling so to get the win today is just an exclamation mark I think off of last night’s pretty good performance not not well enough to win but a pretty good performance and an excellent performance tonight so important exactly that because you played well enough to win last night
Tonight you actually do so you can taste that right that’s right uh Mikel Bridges we’re going to focus in on him shine the spotlight on him he led the way for Brooklyn 29 Points he had 13 in the first quarter Lov to see a fast start
And he kept it going yeah he was tremendous nanc I mean he was all over the floor and it was good to see him finally get his rhythm back and for a shooter you just got to keep shooting he’s been in a little bit of a slump the
Last few games we have talked about it at nauseum because the team’s lost when he hasn’t played well but tonight he really took it upon his shoulders he was taking pull-up shots he was getting in the teeth of the defense nailing jumpers he was knocking down threes he was
Getting to the rim I just liked his aggressive nature right from the GetGo and I think when he starts game strong it’s a good sign for him it gives him that confidence booster and once you see one go to down two go down and boy it
Just catches fire as a shooter and you just continue it’s contagious so tremendous effort from him I think that’ll get him out of that little slump that he’s been in it and it’s a long season you’re going to see that happen to the finest players in the league so a
Great effort from him sixth game with 20 plus points five plus rebounds five plus assists and you know he’s an Iron Man 421 consecutive gam that’s unbelievable right and you know some people were talking about maybe he should take a break he should take a couple games
Games off but no he really is Young he’s somebody that can play himself out of a slump I think it’s better actually to get yourself out of his slump by being on the floor and you saw it happen here tonight and he doesn’t just score you see all the different nuances of his
Game he gets people involved he is their leader on the floor they the the limelight’s on him this year I mean that’s just how it is I mean is he going to have the kind of Limelight of of Nicole yic no but he’s wanting to go in
That direction and he doesn’t have other players like that around him he’s got to be that guy and I think he’s seeing that this year that hey if I don’t if I don’t do it every night if I’m not scoring 20 plus points a night we’re losing games
So I think that he’s been able to see that maybe a good thing that he had a couple of bad games here but you sense that he’s uh coming out of that now well it was a team effort in so many ways we’re going to take a look at the
Assists in particular this is the the second straight game with 30 plus assists and in fact the Net’s tie to season high with 32 assists tonight and that’s huge I mean that’s because their offense was so good but they were doing a lot of Wheeling and dealing drawing
The defense and just making the extra pass and this is just doing the right stuff right here the fundamentals of the game you’re getting to the rim somebody else is open okay and then we saw those nice passes and we saw the good teamwork and and not any selfish one-on-one type
Of play this is what we like about the Brooklyn Nets when we see multiple players getting in involved and then of course Denis Smith Jr drawing the defense he does a lot of different things for them he’s another Creator I think this team has a lot of players
That can create off the bounce and they really utilized that tonight and they annihilated the Pistons in the paint another team 62 points in the paint against Utah Utah also did that to them just a few nights ago I think it was around 62 64 points in the paint so you
Got to like the way that they got to the rim yes these are your key keys to the game uh like we said 32 assists I was pretty sure sure is set on that graphic which is which is tremendous they shot 52.3% from the floor which is also tied
For third highest this season yeah they took advantage and that was important you don’t want to go down to the competition and you know the Pistons have not been good this year there’s been some franchise mistakes with what they did this season clearly having a hard time getting a w they haven’t won
Since October 28th and you know you can easily come into a game like this and play down to the competition or get lest sleep and not play the way that you’re fully capable of playing and the Nets were kind of in a in a tricky position
Too they didn’t want to be that team that handed the Pistons their first win in a long time and you know you don’t want to play with caution either so it was a trap game for the Brooklyn Nets so I’m actually pretty proud of the guys for stepping up and not allowing that
Kind of to overshadow them and they played with a sense of urgency and they took care of business and that’s important in a professional manner I completely agree for Remember me when I’m done with you now Solo solo oh yeah that first Blood remember me when I’m done with you nothing nothing can hold me down no no no I’ve got eyes and ears Everywhere get out of my way you have defeated an enemy is that it nothing hold me down I’m I bre lightning get out of my way ultimate remember me when I’m done with you breathe lightning Oh my I’ll you BL lightning for
