How could Thibs do this? It’s almost like maybe… just maybe…he’s not that good of a player.

He still can’t defend and he still can’t rebound
Wish we could have got more for him though

so we’re a pacer sub now???

Let’s resign him in free agency for cheaper than the expected contract extension

So was Buddy Heild and Bruce Brown. Rick said in a post game about a week ago that he was going to start trying different combinations. It’s seems like Myles and Tyrese will start but he is throwing shit at the wall when it comes to the other 3 spots. Feel free to push a weird narrative killing a kid who mostly played well in a difficult spot for your team and currently has a 60/39 shooting split though

Damn that is how they announce it?
Ayooo Carlisle!!!!

Obviously I’m rooting for Obi to be successful but I’m always shocked at the toxic affection that replacement level players will garner. It’s like these fans fall in love with their own fantasy about how good these players could be.
Maybe it’s bc ppl wanna believe we have a 1a in the wings and the only roadblock preventing us from becoming a title contender is a “stubborn head coach”. reality is much harsher than that.
From Frank, to Knox, to Reddish, to Obi, and many more, we literally haven’t paid AT ALL for letting any of them go. Thibs has been vindicated time and time again regarding his talent evaluation on young players. If they aren’t playing, it’s bc they don’t give us the best chance to win.
But ppl said with a straight face that Obi could be 25 and 10 and an all star without Randle in his way. Unreal.

Not surprising, the guy is awful

Pacers finally understood playing defense is literally half the game

It don’t mean anything really. They switch guys in and out of the starting lineup all the time. It’s his first year starting and even though he’s older, Obi hasn’t played a lot of minutes so it was predictable he would have ups and downs. The mental conditioning of being a great player game in game out is lacking but maybe he can get better.
