Why would a ” fan” start a petition to get rid of Massai and Bobby?

Was scrolling through my Google feed this morning ( hope everyone had a good day yesterday for those who celebrate Christmas) and came across the most outlandish change.org petion to fire both Massai and Bobby.

I couldn’t even find a tag for humor in this sub. But figured everyone could use a laugh the way I just got one after reading this.

2019 seems so far away, but these are the 2 men that put that championship team together.

Inaction can be frustrating but WHY do 135 people (at the time) think that the best way to win again is to get rid of the persons that got you there? Some franchises have never even made an ECF let alone WIN a championship. The NBA is hard and getting harder to win (new luxury tax rules, massive contracts, shorter competitive windows, bad injury luck) as I mentioned before I just found the write up hilarious.

Because a lot of “fans” are dumb lmao

  2. I often wonder if sports fandom was always like this, or if the extreme investment has only gotten this bad with the internet. I once saw a study that said that Canadians are one of the most “online” populations (I think the study was like Redditors per capita from every country or something like that).

Regardless, there are a lot of people who live and die by this team as well as the discourse surrounding the team. It’s why when we were good, a very common talking point on this sub used to be about how little US media watches / knows about the Raptors. Some people just care A LOT.

Anyways, we don’t know if the petition is a joke, and tbh tons of people say the same thing here in this subreddit (making a petition isn’t that much harder than making a post here). If it helps, you can rest easy knowing that you probably are happier and sleep better than most of the people making these petitions. At least you’re not letting Masai and Bobby live in your head rent free

because they are fans of the team, not the front office, and masai and bobby have done a really bad job for like 5 years.

Whether or not you agree with it, I think it’s pretty easy to understand why atleast 135 would want Masai and Bobby gone.

135 people is an insanely small number relative to the size of the fanbase. The funny thing is 135 active users is more than enough to make the subreddit seem extremely negative
