Bro, I know we don’t have a draft pick this season but there’s a lot of interesting prospect in this draft class. Good role players that would fit our system.

I love going through scouting report every season’s draft. Last year, my top picks for us in order were:

    1. Taylor Hendricks
    2. Jaime Jacquez Jr
    3. Olivier Maxence-Prosper
    4. Leonard Miller
    5. Trayce Jackson-Davis

Our glorious Brandin “Air Podz” Podziemski wasn’t even on my radar last season. Also, I was one of those guys who complained when we picked him at #19 instead of Whitmore. I learned my lesson, and I’m glad to be proven wrong. Podz has been outplaying these guys today except JJJ.

With that said, these are my top 3 picks this upcoming draft even though we don’t have a draft pick:

    1. Ryan Dunn (Wing)
    – Comp: Taller GP2/Thybulle
    – Height: 6″8
    – Wingspan: 7″1
    – Bro is a menace on defense. He’s a defensive playmaker. He recorded a season high; 11 REBs, 7 STLs, & 5 BLKs (on different games of course).
    – Shooting is still at work, but he’s a good cutter than Thybulle. Very explosive and athletic. Really reminds me of GP2 but 6 inches taller.
    – GP2’s health is very uncertain for the next 2 seasons plus his contract. So having a guy like Ryan Dunn could help us fill that need which is the Point-of-Attack on defense.
    – Draft Projection: Late lottery to early 20s.
    – Per-36 Average: 12.5pts, 9rebs, 1.4ast, 3.4blks, 3.1stls.

    2. Yves Missi (Center)
    – Comp: Mark Williams
    – Height: 7″0
    – Wingspan: 7″2.5
    – I think, we need to atleast draft a decent 7 footer in this draft. He’s very mobile as a big. Good shot blocker. Recorded season high 14 REBs, and 5 BLKs (2 times).
    – We need more centers in this team. Bro is a dawg.
    – Draft Projection: Late 20s
    – Per-36 Average: 18.7pts, 12rebs, 0.3ast, 4.2blks, 1.7stls.

    3. Tyler Smith (Stretch 4)
    – Comp: Trey Murphy III
    – Height: 6″11
    – Wingspan: 7″⅕
    – He’s a good shooter. Shooting percentage kinda’ dipped because he’s not shooting well lately compared at the start of the season in G-League Ignite.
    – He has a high motor, decent cutter, decent playmaker, and a smooth stroke shot.
    – He’s a good stretch 4 you could ask for in late 20’s to 2nd round.
    – Dario is just a 1 year rental for us, and has a huge bag waiting for him on other contending teams. So a player like Tyler Smith, would be good for us.
    – I think this is another Leonard Miller situation lol. They play similarly, so I guess LM is a good comp too.
    – Recorded a season high 11 REBs, 6ASTs, & 4 BLKs.
    – Draft Projection: Late 20s to early 2nd round.
    – Per-36 Average: 22.9pts, 8.3rebs, 2.7asts, 1.2blks, 1.6stls.

I know, we can just get a decent Free Agent with similar traits. But I want us to snag atleast 1 of these 3.

  2. >***Where does Podziemski go in a 2023 NBA re-draft today?***

    >***I’m thinking as high as 3rd and not any lower than 7th. A lottery lock for sure, so Podz is looking like a steal for the Warriors as the 19th pick.***

second recent opinion about how podz would go much higher in a 2023 redraft, [previous one posted had him going #11](https://fansided.com/posts/2023-nba-re-draft-victor-wembanyama-scoot-henderson)

#3 sounds a bit too high for podz even for the most optimistic warriors fan who is high on the him as a rookie

although he is probably the best or at 2nd best performing point guard thru the first 30 games when compared to the likes of the #3 pick in henderson, #6 pick in black, #10 pick in wallace, #17 pick hood-schifinopodz probably doesn’t have the highest of ceilings because of the lack of elite athleticism but imo he likely has one of the highest floors out of most of the 2023 NBA rookie class due to his polished skill set and BBIQ

it’s not like he’s old either as he only was in college for two years and still 20 years old which is only a year younger than henderson/coulibaly, same age as wemby/black, and younger than miller and the thompson twins all whom were picked within the top 7 in last june’s draft

I really can’t digest the fact that podziemski is taller & heavier than Jordan Poole

  4. Please just trade Luminga and Moody. They both have worked hard to improve and fit in with the team. But there is no real pathway for them to get the minutes they deserve. Kerr is playing with their money and futures. If we don’t believe they are quality consistent parts of the rotation, then trade them for someone who can be.

  5. Spirited-Cap-9779

There is an unlikely scenario where JK will get more minutes no matter what, even in playoffs. He will have to make a 2014 Kawhi-esque or 2022 Poole-esque leap. He needs to average something like 25/10 over 10-15 games and he would have to display the ability to create his own offense consistently. If he improves his three point shot that would solidify his case even more. This also applies to TJD, Podz and Moody.

Rn, the main reason he (and the rest of the young dudes) can’t get minutes is because the young guys are all playing decently at around the same level. None of them are significantly better than the rest of their peers.

If one of them takes a leap significant enough to the point that Kerr is forced to play him over the rest of his peers, then that will solve the minutes problem involving the young dudes entirely.

Pistons Alec Burks is who r/nba says Klay is.

Funny to me most comments here lately are about us being “too deep” (aka not enuf mins for ___). I love our strength in numbers roster, & trust the coaches to work out rotations that allow us to play all 12 of our “main” guys once GPII & Dray are back.

Yes, I can also see a trade or even 2 “fixing” the problem. But if we don’t make moves, I won’t be unhappy. I like our guys.
