I miss when the pistons had joe dumars drafting players but drafting darko was a bad choice and larry brown coaching the team. Larry brown won't take no bull shit from any of the players because he cares about coaching and winning. It's up to the players that buy into the what the coach is trying to do to implement a winning formula to help the team to be successful. Most players nowadays have too much have an ego that are not willing enough to make sacrifices to help achieve the team win with a total team effort. The 2004 detroit pistons and the 2023 denver nuggets are examples of players wanting to play for each other and willing to make sacrifices such as individual sacrifices to do whatever it takes to win and be as successful as possible. There are hardly any current coaches that can handle each players egos like phil jackson and larry brown, the only coach left is greg popovich. The players need to be held accountable and if they don't, they will most likely keep on making the same mistakes over and over again and will hardly make a difference even when they are being traded to a championship calibur team since the ego gets the best of the player when the player thinks they are the reason why they end up winning when in fact they are holding the team back in order to win a championship and being as successful as possible. In the modern nba, players with egos is not a guaranteed championship unless they have a coach that can help maintain the players ego when things turn for the worse and the coach is on the same page as the players and the team. I wish the pistons got bill laimbeer because of his coaching experience and john salley because of his basketball knowledge and he got to play with former players in the nba that are in the hall of fame like michael jordan and isiah thomas. Monty williams does not seem to be on the same page as the players and it's not getting thru the players on the team and it's affecting the teams chemistry to become better than they currently are. Some how, dwayne casey was able to coach the team and they were not this terrible. There were mediocre but at least the players were coachable.
