‘Miami Dolphins’ defense is COMING TO FRUITION’ 👏 – Swagu on Cowboys-Dolphins | NFL Live

The Dolphins offense has gotten praise all year but man this defense has been balling out since Jaylen Ramsey returned from miniscus surgery in week eight Miami was among the worst defensive team in the leagues worst defensive teams in the league over seven weeks but since Ramsey came back the Dolphins had the

Best scoring defense and have allowed the lowest total qbr in the NFL danowski Marcus Spears Mina kimes with us here Marcus what has impressed you most with this Miami team on the defensive side of the ball yeah Jaylen Ramsey has obviously been phenomenal but I like the way they’re

Getting after the passer now and I thought that this was just a process that was going to take a second with Vic fangio and his defense and now it’s starting to come to fruition and Bradley chub is starting to show up with the big contract and the trade being worth it I

Love van gko a Relentless pass rusher the interior is big and stout as well they’re Built Well up front when you think about Miami when it comes to rushers and and what they like to do and and y’all Mina and do knows this Vic fangio don’t want to Blitz you all game

He don’t he don’t want to have to commit a lot of guys to trying to get after the quarterback he wants a fourman rush to start to take effect and it just reminds me of Denver when he had Cain on the outside and he had pass Bradley chub

Coming off the edge with a lot of those guys it was very reminiscent of that um watching them play against Dallas where they didn’t have to sacrifice on the back end in order to make plays and negative plays for Dallas’s offense you know Marcus to your point

When I was watching this I know it’s a regular season game but I was actually thinking about the contrast between what we saw against this very good Dallas offense versus the Wild Card performance with the previous defensive coordinator where they just kept sending the house and getting punished a contrast and

Defensive philosophy yeah right I mean this is The Vic fangio defense we all expected that we talked up this entire offense like you said get pressure with Ford they had a 43 3% pressure rate on Dak with a standard Rush defend the run with light boxes Tony Pard averaging

Just 3.7 yards per carry running into light boxes and then a lot of those pressures and sacks were also attributable to coverage Dak holding on to the football they were putting a roof on CD lamb a lot of those split safety shells we associate with fangio it took

A second some of that was injuries obviously Ramsay wasn’t in the mix until recently some of it I also think is the complexity of fangio’s Defense but it feels like right now this defense is playing exactly as we hoped just in time for a playoff run and this team looks

Incredibly balanced as a result Dan I want to go to you with the offense number one scoring offense in the league had 375 total yards in this game but only got to the end zone once what did you see what did you like about Tua and this offense yesterday or Sunday yeah

Number one Mike McDaniel and Tua took the the defensive line out of the game I mean two a threw the ball mean this is a number for you I think like 2.2 seconds is what he averaged from catch to throw that totally takes away the strength of

The football team I thought he played incredibly fast and then when it came to the decision-making and how if you watched this game there were some clips where the second level of Dallas’s defense so like their backers and maybe some drop- down safeties would literally turn and run the opposite direction of

The ball because they were so aware that they would try to hit those 15 or 20 yard throws that they were trying to run to spots and Tua would just quickly get the ball out underneath and I think that was a Telltale sign and also 80% of

Their snaps on offense used motion we’ve talked about them and that struggle for Dallas’s defense that’s the most in like six years when it comes to how often offenses have ran it and I look at it and Phil spinning It Forward Mina and Marcus I look at it this weekend when

They play Baltimore and I go well I knew Mike McDaniel was going to take away the strength of Dallas their defensive line I will be fascinated to see what he tries to minimize out of Baltimore I don’t know if they have a strength I don’t know if they have a weakness I

Think they have just a complete aspect of their football team yeah both of these teams come off of this game an immediate test next week for Dallas that’s against Detroit and earlier today Jerry Jones was asked how he sees the Cowboys chances in the postseason as far as us being in good

Shape to uh go into the playoffs and really uh make a wave uh I feel very good about our chances to do that and Dak is playing outstanding I thought Dak played a heck of a game the other night he had pressure all night long I think

Dak’s the best he’s been in his career and I think if you can go into uh this part of your season in the NFL and your quarterb back is playing at this level U you’ve got an outstanding chance to do some to come home happy so some optimism from Jerry Jones

Marcus you played for this team for eight seasons what is the Cowboys biggest concern today yeah MK and do they my brothers and sisters and they know if you can’t run it you can’t win a Super Bowl that’s just what it boils down to for me and

There is no better example than first and one in the fourth quarter and you get back for a 8- yard loss by Nick chub and Van Ginko they are struggling to run the football and Dallas and and Dak is Dak did play he was solid but this team

Is at its best when they can hit chunk plays in The Run game and they just don’t have that ability consistently enough in my opinion when you start looking at the NFC you got jir Gibbs and Montgomery and Detroit obviously we know what San Francisco is doing Williams is

Running his butt off with with the Rams why that Resurgence is happening along with Matthew Stafford being the play the way he wants to I think Dallas needs to really identify how they are going to manufacture yards on the ground between Tony Potter and Rico Dao in order to be

A real contender in the NFC because if not and they think that they gonna drop back and throw the football and win a Super Bowl and try to beat the San Francisco 49ers or Philly in that regard or anybody it’s not going to happen Cowboys had one rush in this game longer

Than n yards and it was a daak Scramble for 22 wasn’t even scripted Dallas loses back-to-back games for the first time since late in the 2021 season but it’s time now for our ESPN bet future Spotlight as it stands the Cowboys do have 10 to1 odds to win the Super Bowl

According to ESPN bet that’s the sixth shortest in the league and despite the home loss last night the ners still have the shortest odds to lift the Lombardi trophy followed immediately by the Ravens [Applause] the

Marcus “Swagu” Spears, Mina Kimes and Dan Orlovsky join Phil Murphy on NFL Live to react to the Miami Dolphins’ 22-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Christmas Day.

  1. Going to be humble . But the fins have played the commanders, Patriots , jets , titans and raiders not really offensive juggernauts. Those stats are missleading but im nkt sleeping

  2. Don't forget that my Dolphins still haven't had Jevon Holland at the safety position. He's been out for four weeks so far, he's gonna be back and better. Jaelan Phillips too!

  3. Cowboys loss to dolphins should speaks volumes. Cowboys losing to 2nd and the 3rd stringers. Cowboys using there starters and still lost.

  4. Until they can do it to Buffalo or shut down the Raven's playground scrub from running and force him to throw it all means nada.

  5. All I got to say refs are against the cowboys they never call the holds on against Micha Parsons I watched the games and I'm tired of the double standard they got to start calling these calls properly.. Micha Parsons has been in the league and not once let me repeat that not once has he gotten a hold call against the opponents offensive. Sucks that he has to play against the officials by them not calling those calls its like the refs give the players the green light to hold against him.

  6. Since week 8? they played the patriots, chiefs, commanders, titans, jets, and the raiders. Great offenses right? Na There’s 1 winning team and that’s the cowboys. Let’s just see how they play vs the ravens. Aren’t the 49ers a bigger more experienced dolphins team?

  7. Ill never forget the casuals bitching and moaning about Fangio and how Grier should lose his job for giving him so much money and blah, blah, blah. And rational people like me telling them it takes time and reps for players to conform to a new system, particularly one that is so vastly different from the previous one. When you go from a primary man/blitz heavy scheme to primary zone, coverage conscious defensive scheme, you can get much different in terms of philosophy. Where are those people now? Probably complaining about the offensive playcalling and saying how the NFL has figured the boy genius' scheme out, not realizing that MMcD is constantly changing and evolving his system.

  8. Hey Nick Wright, your QB mountain is 100% correct. Your co-host wanted to swap out Dak from the second tier and replace him with Josh Allen in the third tier. However, his argument that Dak was only good at home and Josh Allen was better, is totally flawed. The facts support your argument, proving that going into week 17, Dak Prescott has a better HOME AND ROAD WIN PERCENTAGE RATE than Josh Allen. Here are the facts to support YOUR ARGUMENT. Dak has a 7 -0 home win -loss record and that's a 100% home win percentage. Josh Allen has a 7-2 home win-loss record and that's a 78..7% home win percentage. Josh Allen has a 2-4 road win-loss record, which happens to be a 33.33% road win percentage. Dak Prescott on the other hand, has a 3-5 road win-loss record, which happens to be a road win rate of 37.7% which is better than Allens. In conclusion, your argument that Dak Prescott should be on the second tier of the QB mountain, is based on facts, while your co-hosts argument is based solely on his love for Superman Josh Allen, who has more than twice the amount of interventions as Dak with 15. Going into week 17, Allen has a total of 18 turnovers. Dak Prescott on the other hand has only 7 interceptions so far, including a sack-fumble turnover against the Eagles. That's all I have Nick, please keep up the good work and I wish you a happy New Year. 🎉🎉

  9. To be fair, they've also played a bag of ham and egger teams all year and the only team over .500 that they've defeated was dallas, who is a shell of themselves on the road

  10. Miami does a good job containing Lamar ,,,, Lamar is not a pocket passer ,., they whole team depends on his legs ,, you take that away .. they lose ,, Thats why Tua is undefeated vs ravens .. Miami has their number

  11. This guy just called the Dallas Cowboys, his brothers and sisters. I didn’t realize the Cowboys had females on the field.

  12. Lol, We'll see just how "on a roll" they really are this weekend against the Ravens. They need to shut jackson's running down and they can win. Jackson can't throw a football to save his life -when It matters. He's an extremely overpaid wild cat component.
