Blazers went what on a 29-5 h i don’t even remember the number it was bad it was huge the Blazers outscored Sacramento 34 3527 in the second quarter luckily Fox scored the last 10 points to make it a seven-point game at the half 67-60 but then the

Blazers dropped 37 in the third and then they outscore Sacramento 2618 in the fourth for a final 113 130 to 113 it’s not just the the number of what they scored in each quarter it’s how they scored in each quarter and I think that was the most frustrating thing when we

Watch tonight’s game because when you watch the Kings take on the Clippers and they got James hard and they got Paul George they got Kawhi Leonard and they’re getting those line drives you’re still like this defense is bad like that’s bad you do not allow that when

You are watching one of the worst offensive teams in the league being the Portland Trailblazers have those line drives and then no adjustments were being made at the half and those line Dy drives points in the paint continue to happen for this team and they started knocking down some of their outside

Basket it was everything was too easy for Portland and I don’t care who the team is if you play Bad defense like that you give NBA players confidence this can be the result I just want to challenge you on one thing because you said guys weren’t getting into guys

There was moments like a moment I thought had some better moments de there was I know there was a one play I think you referen with Jeremy Grant where he was getting really into him physical that I think you know Grant was physical enough that fox tried to sell contact

There was moments there so that that’s what but like those moments but here’s the thing even in those individual moments with players whether it was a Keegan moment whether it was a block um you know I think Keegan even had a block early on a dearn moment a sabonis moment

Like even if they had those moments the entire possession was never executed it was always ending in some some Miss shot oh great contest oh the defense actually rotated over to a long rebound timed awfully by the Sacramento Kings throughout the entire game though like I understand it happening even in a full

Quarter being like all right you got to figure that out like how can you I there’s going to be weird bounces but an entire game of weird bounces feels like it more of an effort Thing by the other team and that’s where I just felt like

Portland was doing a really good job of of um having a lot of effort in vibing off of each other’s energy and momentum and taking that even when dear was trying to shut them down in that before going into the half looking at some of these numbers I

Mean wreath comes in gives you 25 and N scoot Henderson 17 points 11 assists Jabari Walker had 17 all three of those players Off the Bench yep I mean this was a night where Jeremy Grant had 13 points those guys were outstanding I mean the bench production from Portland

Was great and you know I thought as the game went on too you could just sense the confidence even someone like scoot who’s had a rough year maybe hasn’t lived up to the expectations right of being one of the top picks in the draft dealt with injuries not shooting well

There’s a lot of hype surrounding him duh but you felt like oh that’s scoo Henderson tonight like that was the scoot I think Blazers fans have been kind of waiting to see where go oh these are the Flash of what could be a really special player some of it was like oh

Too easy early on but then he had some incredible finishes around the basket a beautiful re reverses he started knocking down some shots he played with a lot of confidence tonight and I I just I’m just disappointed I I think we this has been a theme where this is the ninth

Time this year the Kings have been down 20 in a game that’s just too much right they were missing two starters which you started the show pretty much mentioning and on the flip side the first time this season the Kings have had a fully healthy roster Alex Lynn was available

Losing teams you haven’t played a lot of teams in the East yet the fewest in the NBA now you’re getting some of these East team starting to come about how are you going to handle that and I think the way they play tonight it’s like good luck beating anyone unless you’re

Knocking down three it’s like and they have not been able to do that especially tonight 10 of 42 from three yeah and so you’re looking at it and you’re not seeing contributions from everybody from the team and I get it there’s going to be those nights when some guys have

Their nights and other guys don’t but this was one of those nights where it was like sabonis and fox were doing everything and we’re like okay guys who wants to like jump jump on this momentum train let’s take it into the third oh no no one no one wants okay let’s take it

Into the paint maybe let’s keep punishing everybody in the oh nobody just okay I’ve just felt like that end of the floor too guys were settling for outside shots they weren’t taking it enough when you’re playing against a team that has terrible defense in this league when it comes to points in the

Paint and so sabonis knew obviously the game plan was to like go at them give it to sabonis he’s going to go and it felt like they got that right away sabonis continued to do that throughout the game but you just weren’t feeling that from everybody um especially with some of

Those outside shots that were being missed that were being shot like you said shooting 24% from three-point land cidos game says so the rest of the team outside fox went three of 27 from three yeah yes yeah I thought Keegan had some great looks he missed he was one of

Seven monk was one of seven as well here Barnes 0 for three herder hit one early he was one of five and that’s like another guy we should talk about I mean this starting shooting guard spot has been disappointing this year for the Kings I know we hit a little bit last game

But another time in which like he’s playing under 22 minutes and his confidence looks shot right now yeah I understand you’re G you’re missing shots and it’s messing with you but you got to keep he is the perfect example of a guy that when his shots going it feels like all

Aspects of his game getting deflection he’s denying like H the midrange setting up guys you know having five assists six assists in a game and tonight it was just like I’m missing shots there were some bad defensive moments and then you know Mike Brown doesn’t play him much at

All in the second half I think once he came out in that third quarter he didn’t come back in and so this has been a theme for him where you’re starting shooting guard who was very impactful last year even though he may have had some weaknesses we know this but

Impactful enough to be RedHot from three at times shot 40% from three his shooting is dipped a bit his playmaking has dipped his confidence doesn’t look the same and and they really need to figure that out to get him going because this team is not going to have the

Success they need to have if they can’t get him going in the starting lineup yeah and and I I don’t know what that is right like why would his game take such a big dip it’s not like you see last year as just a fluke for Kevin herder in

Fact you would expect for someone to have that type of game around a system that seemed like it was fitting his game well to find growth to develop to a different level and for it to not find its Rhythm and now now Mike Brown already lit the the fire under his ass

In training camp trying to start other guys being like look I’m going to have some issues here if Kev can’t get it together then everyone was calling for Kevin herder to not start anymore whatever and then he started he had a few games and everyone’s like okay okay

He’s good he’s going to figure out keeg Murray had a few games okay okay they’re both figuring it out now you’re seeing more and more games like you said your starting shooting guard is not making the impact that the rest of this team needs to see especially with the minutes

That he’s supposed to be playing and I think someone else is mentioning it too in our chat it’s like the depth for the Kings isn’t looking too hot right now Sasha venkov isn’t one not exactly what everyone was expecting him to be but two I also think sometimes he gets too short

Of a leash and he should be able to make more mistakes and be left out there just a little bit longer like let him experience this game and figure out his game because think he is such a smart player with so much length that just needs to keep working on his

Conditioning I agree I think there’s I mean I’ve kind of said the same thing about herder where you know there’s certain guys that like he he’s a confidence guy and I think sometimes showing some confidence in him would be all right keep going out there and figure out figure it out you

Know um and I I agree with you on Sasha it’s like he’s going to make some mistakes out there I I know but what I do know is more times he’s trying to make the right place right he’s going to try to do the right things offensively

He gets Bas the floor knock down the three he gets deflections he’s tipping balls out getting offensive rebounds like I I just like his activity it’s not perfect it’s not at all and and that’s where I think like Bey besides Fox sabonis and I think Murray’s been

Doing enough this year where he’s not on a short lease feel feels like everyone else has a pretty short leash Harrison has a long leash than some of those other guys like H her in the bench guys but it’s like if those bench guys don’t bring it like he’s like I’m not playing

Them and I I think that’s it could be tough for for players to deal with that sometimes well look at someone like Davon Mitchell for example like that’s someone who’s now just getting dmps tonight seeing a few minutes you know just garbage mins whatever one of my

Favorite things that they showed on the broadcast was after Keon I had gone and maybe there was a timeout by Mike Brown whatever there’s just this shot of Davon talking to Keon and going and like pointing stuff out and just still being a a a vocal teammate and and sharing his

Thoughts and educating someone like to the guy that pretty much took his backup point guard position and I think it just it shows you a little bit just from the outside Optics at least it’s like okay things are good these guys still play with so much joy even if they’re not

Getting those play th those minutes like they all like each other there’s there’s good style of basketball there Mike Brown is a good coach all these things are going for them so why the hell is it taking this big of a drop in some of these losses especially on the defensive

End like yeah I I’m not blaming it on effort I’m I’m blaming on like um almost technique and and just because Morgan they here’s the reality what best case scenario this roster that’s in front of us right now best case scenario is an average defensive team that’s their ceiling is average

Okay average okay they were 14th at one point I think last week they were 14th in defensive rating wow which would be a huge you know improvement from last year that’s their Peak they don’t have the pieces to be a consistent defensive team because they don’t have the Personnel to

Be a consistent defensive team so why can’t they hang around their Peak it’s cuz it’s hard to do right it’s hard to do when you’re just kind of average that means you’re going to have some really good moments and you’re going to see have some bad moments we saw like

Stretches tonight where it’s like oh my God okay they’re they’re starting to get locked in and then it’d be like not securing a rebound it’s like wait you just had an amazing defensive possession where the activity is there the rotations are there the communication’s there and someone Miss times to jump on

A rebound or’s getting a quick easy too like it’s nothing and that that’s thing it’s like okay so if you’re not recovering that rebound how are you not recovering still on the play like how does everything just like do you black out and everything end for you that’s what it’s

Starting to feel like on a lot of these possessions uh and and uh them not being able to execute the entire possession but at the same time I just I just feel like with their defensive strategy and how we have seen it come together and be engaged and be focused with players that

Aren’t Elite Defenders it has reached so many good moments that I’m just like it’s there but no because it’s not it’s their average okay and that’s the difference it’s like even if they have better moments this year defensively yeah which they it’s tricking it’s like gaslighting me like what is it doing no

It’s just they’re average defensively and their offense isn’t as good this year okay I mean that’s fair a lot of times last year the facts they were knocking down a ton of Threes I think the three point percentage someone our Discord was mentioning this earlier is

Actually the same exact same as it was last year but it just seems like the highs are there and then the lows when I mean they they hit eight against Minnesota they hit 10 of 42 tonight and like I said earlier seven of those came

From dearen Fox so you know I I think tonight was more about approach than anything like they they just came out to me a little nonchalant like I know I just felt like they they looked at that Blazers team with they’re seven and 21 we can we can beat him offensively

Tonight because we we know they don’t have any real size in there to protect the paint we’ll get what we want we’ll knock down some threes and adios they looked like they were going up against a high school team in those first few minutes right and then once the Blazers

Like found their confidence it was and and the Kings and the Kings not only did the Blazers find their confidence the Kings ah took a deep breath and we’re like we got this this will be easy tonight and it’s like no these are all NBA players too no matter

What it is still going to be a game with effort with guys that want to be out there and try and get a w um on their record and that’s exactly what the Blazers did and hats off to them because I thought they did a great job of

Staying with it and making the Kings look bad on so many defensive possessions that yeah it it’s just it’s they had great activity like it’s you could tell the guys who are getting a little more run tonight off their bench like brought an extra energy because

Look they’re on a bad team and they’re trying to get NBA minutes opportunities you know a game like this for wreath like what’s that do for his confidence a game like this for scoop fantastic and you know got to be careful too and this is why we keep going hey remember these

Are NBA players because you don’t want to act like well the Kings just allowed him to score at will it’s like no I felt like that some of the Kings the Kings made some mistakes in transition right not picking up like the guy with the ball you gotta worry about him let’s

Stop ball right little things like that are not paying attention to the guy who’s trailing who’s going to go by right by everybody and get a basket like it too easy for sure but they also played with such great energy right scoot got confident he’s attacking wreath finishing around the basket they

They played well I thought as the game went on too into the second second half I thought their defense was prettyy engaged and that’s the one thing we should mention with Portland is you know we talk so much hey they’re terrible at defending the paint but on the season

Coming into tonight they were 17th in defensive rating teams do not shoot the three well against them at all and look at that Sacramento was 24% from three in this game so yes as you mentioned give the Blazers credit I just maintain that like for Sacramento we’ve seen them when

They’re locked in and if they just played more of an average game tonight they they they win but they didn’t have the right approach and I my whole point is they could have fought through some of these offensive struggles and fought through the fact that they were 10 for

42 from three if they played better defense got deflections got out and ran but the Blazers end up shooting 50% the Blazers end up knocking down 16 of 40 from three and the Blazers in the game end up with 10 turnovers so yeah just Notting just not enough uh you look at

The Kings five steals seven blocks uh you know one of I feel I felt like a lot of those came early on in this game too when they were feeling good feeling it but um but yeah too many mistakes being made on both ends of the floor and it’s

Just it really sucks on a night like this where Fox is one point shy of his career high and this is what we have to talk about and we talked about this on most game show too was that I’m really glad that Mike Brown didn’t leave him in

To get uh a new career high and it be in a shitty loss like this yes there’s no way you could have kept him in there for that I put a poll question up that’s what is it this is great you know because people get higher though I think

Is very good and look the kings are 17 and 12 all right they came in tonight fourth in the west with the loss they dropped to six standings watch is way too early but if you look at where we’re at in the standings yeah I mean Denver’s 22 and 10 they’re

Number two OKC who the Kings have beat twice 19-9 the Clippers are 18- 12 the Mavs are 18- 12 the Kings 17- 12 the Pelicans 17- 14 the Rockets 15 and 13 Lakers 16- 15 15- 15 Warriors who have climbed back to 500 right suns are 14

And 15 that’s a lot of teams close together and I think that’s another thing like I I keep reminding myself I’m like well I’ve seen the Kings beat Minnesota this year I’ve seen them lose to Minnesota I’ve seen them beat Denver I’ve seen him beat OKC twice once

Without Fox they got dominated by the Clippers they beat up on Dallas they’ve got a chance to take on New Orleans in a couple of weeks but they’ve lost all those games they lost twice to Houston without Fox they beat the Lakers twice and they beat the Warriors once like so

My whole point is these teams are bunched up the Kings have a lot of flaws so do these other teams these other teams but and you know what maybe gives me that like PTSD type yeah situation going on is when they get in these holes because I remember that that is always

What they used to do as a losing team they would just get in holes and never be able to crawl out of it right where this team to me it for the Kings is too good of a team to get those 19point holes those 20o holes and how many times

Has that happened this season and I don’t even know how many times that they’ve actually bounced back from it all I remember is the Golden State Warriors game the IST game down 24 found a way to fight back and get the win it’s like hey it’s an ugly win but it’s a win

Great we’ll take it even with this one tonight how many times where it was like oh it’s a six-point game in this fourth quarter and then finally when the Blazers just pulled away it was like oh yeah the Blazers that’s where I give them on credit tonight they responded to
