without him, there’s no milwaukee bucks and the 2021 championship never happens.

    rip king 👑🙏

While we didn’t have the greatest success during his ownership, Herb’s great legacy is that the Bucks are even still in Milwaukee at all. He stepped up in 1985 and bought the team to keep them here, then put forth $100 million of his own money when he sold the team to go toward building Fiserv and helped ensure the long-term status of the Bucks in Milwaukee. Without him, it’s easy to imagine Wisconsin being without an NBA franchise. I’m so glad we were able to win a championship while Herb was still around to celebrate it with us. May his memory be a blessing.

He wasn’t always the best owner when in came to basketball decisions but he is a big reason there’s still professional basketball in milwaukee and for that I will always be thankful for him. I’m glad he got to see us win a championship.

RIP. Thanks for selling to the right owners and giving 100 million for Fiserv Forum. Without that, none of the last 6 years happens.

The man was absolutely vital to keeping our Bucks in Milwaukee, and for that, I am eternally grateful to him. 🙏🦌

This is sad. A relative of mine worked for him for a couple of years. He was a great boss. Met him once during that time.

Without Herb Kohl, the Bucks would’ve gone the way of the SuperSonics. That’s his legacy above all else. He was an unselfish man for Milwaukee when he didn’t have to be. I’m so glad that he got to see the 2021 run and what it meant to the city, and even be part of the parade.

    Thank you, Mr. Kohl.

  11. Idk what list I was on, but I got a yearly Christmas card from “him.” Kohl was overall great for Milwaukee and was just a cool dude.
When she was in college my mom worked at George Webbs that he was a regular at. 20 years later I was at Mayfair with my Mom and he recognized her and remembered her name. He came over to us to cracke some inside joke about the chili.

Kind of wish I would have kept this years card :-/

RIP. Without him the Bucks would have moved. We had a lot of lean years with him in charge, but in the end, he got to see the Bucks be champions.

The man gave millions of dollars, in the 9 figure range, to public causes in the state of Wisconsin and city of Milwaukee. I hope there are more men and women like Herb Kohl down the pipeline.

  15. kept the bucks home where they belong. rest in peace my man

Met him several times. He was a very niceSelig. Also used to come in to eat where a family member was his regular waitress and he always tipped 100%.

Fun fact: his college roommate was bud selig.

  17. Besides the Bucks stuff he recently would fund likely hundreds of teachers’ back-to-school wish lists through his educational foundation. Good dude.

I would see him a few times a year way back in the day when I was slinging milk at Herb’s Superb Milkhouse at the State Fair. Fast Forward 20+ years and I still got his stock Christmas card every year. I also remember seeing him quite often at Ma Fischers.
