Now that we kind of have that timeline listen I I get everybody’s excited about drum and everybody’s really oh he 2425 this is what the Bulls are missing I love the the way the Drummond played and I hope that that does continue but the one thing that we have been able to

Count on with Vu is his consistency at least on the rebounding and offensive end that’s the one thing with Andre Drummond that when you kind of look at the reason that he started to become a backup center in the NBA was because the consistency wasn’t always there right

He’d have games like that then in the next game he’d go out there need had four fouls in the beginning the one thing the Bulls really have to do over this next seven to 10 days uh which is what five games right that he’s gonna miss pretty much like you said five

Games um like five to six games right the one thing that they really have to do is TR really try and just keep Andre Drummond out of foul trouble we’ve seen this many times where you know he has the big game the next game we’re talking about three fouls in the first quarter

Now you can’t play him most of the game then you have to go small ball Center I also think I know I said this on the last pod gotta find a way to work in a [ __ ] I don’t want Andre Drummond playing 40 minutes a night every single night

That he’s out there find a way to work in another big I like Terry Taylor I don’t love Terry Taylor you you you’ve got these guys on the team and to me the the number one flaw that Billy Donovan has is we’ve had these guys where we go

Hey we need seven Footers out there Billy’s like I’m gonna put this 62 guy out there at Center and see what he do yeah I mean like I I don’t want us to go back to small ball Center every night I’m not saying put a do Nago out there

There for 30 minutes but give him like 7 to 10 minutes just so that Andre Drummond can breathe and I don’t have to worry about him falling out of the game in the first half yeah I mean I think that’s what it comes down to is that you

Know and I I expect Billy Donovan to still use Terry Taylor but with this extended period of time the way Adam soogo is playing keep in mind sonogo it’s not like he’s just he’s averaging 18 11 one I think one and a half blocks one and a half steals per game and he’s

Doing so in efficient scoring if nothing else Adas go can bring you rebounding block shots and putbacks let’s just say Don’t run a single set for him he can do that and so and and you know I get why you’re going with Terry Taylor I I know

That Billy donov he’s always going to go with the experience especially when you’re trying to win games but I think when you look at the next the set of games that we have for the Chicago Bulls in this stretch that uh that that vots can be out we got Indiana that they got

Uh Jaylen Smith and Miles Turner down there Philadelphia 76ers that speaks for your the New York dicks they have their own big man uh injured down there but Isaiah hartenstein and then the Charlotte Hornets you you got all teams with legitimate big men down there that

Can do some damage to you on both sides of the ball so while Terry Taylor yeah he’s a really good small ball rebounder and he’s a Defender he plays with energy I don’t want to take anything away from him but what is the point of giving somebody an opportunity if you’re not g

To actually give them an opportunity I’m not saying that soogo is gonna make or break these games but I do think working him in five eight minute stretch to see how he plays in that then increase that role after that that should be the thing

In our in my opinion I’m a guy sitting in the studio in his crib though I’m not an NBA coach so it is what it is no I feel you and I think right like the the one thing about this is in this stretch right we’ve talked about niik lavich

Being a key piece that has really been consistent for the Chicago Bulls there’s been some up and downs in there right there’s a couple of games where he’s put up 13 but for the most part I mean you look at V’s game he’s averaged 18 and n

And 11.2 rebounds three assists in all of those games uh multiple game 26 and 16 24 and 12 23 and 8 20 and 12 20 and 12 21 and 16 right like you know what V is going to be able to bring to the floor who’s going to give you that level

Of consistency and that that’s really what you’re looking for right and this is a time if anything to go with the hot hand for me if you got a guy out there who’s doing a good job giving you some rebounding numbers and maybe he’s able to give you a little bit of offense

Nothing crazy but he’s just out there giving you some some rebounding numbers a solid defense don’t go away from that guy that’s that’s a major Billy Donovan thing with with Andre Drummond included right it seems now he’s gonna give Drummond all the minutes that he could

Ever want but don’t you don’t have to go away from that guy because oh my goodness well you know we we didn’t feel like uh that lineup was really going well for us with the numbers well you know what the numbers looked bad on the offensive rebounds that you were giving

Up right like there’s too many times that we see that and I just I don’t want to see the Bulls over this next stretch of games without Vu shoot themselves in the foot the one thing about Vu that people are always going to do your always gonna complain your always gonna

Say he’s not good enough defensively we need more here we need more there and then he finishes the game with 24 and 12 yeah yeah I mean V has been a key a key part of this team I know a lot of people like the crap on vot but you know it is

What it is I do think Andre Drummond is going to do what he does well like you said you just got to keep him out of foul trouble things like that and if you can do that listen it it’s it’s six games potentially so in the grand scheme

You think it’s not a lot I know Nicola vich was hoping to hit that that 82 again this season like last season but you know that that rarely happens for anybody period so and he’s hit it so consistently bro Vu has been the the the

Pinnacle of uh just I’m going to be dur like you don’t even think about it at CLE like when they were like Vu is out I was like oh like he’s probably gonna play like V is honestly one of the more durable players we’ve ever had in a

Chicago Bulls uniform it’s it’s listen this is this next seven to 10 days is going to be very interesting the one thing I will say is this though in that game where we watched Andre Drummond uh in the in the starting role it did feel like Chicago Bulls ran the floor really

Well it felt like they ran the floor much better than when Vu is out there Vu is usually the trailer there were times where Andre drummer was running right with Kobe white I thought that I thought that Andre Drummond really allows the Chicago Bulls to actually push the ball

And get out ahead of teams and that that we haven’t we don’t see that as much with v granted V is 34 33 years old like he’s not going to be he’s not sprinting down the court and he’s never been breaking any speed records well it’s also the fact that that Andre Drummond

Started some of those fast breaks with his ability to get Steals and that that helped as well in that stretch so yeah I mean you definitely have that with Andre Drummond that you don’t have with Nicola vous vich and you know that’s why you saw like like IOD dumu play as well as

He played as well so you know the it fits into what the Bulls stylistically want to do there still it offers some limitations but defensively there’s there’s very little you can poke holes into it when it comes down to defensively he does have that really nice like he’s a underrated on ball

Defender he’s still he’s listen him and V got the same problem they struggling pick and roll but is W he’s a he’s a very underrated on ball Defender where there was a couple of times where like his man would try to drive past him and he’s like hitting him with the little

Just that little tap right the little Boop and then the ball goes the other way and and it’s like cookies wait a minute did did Andre Drummond just rip me up and he’s going the other way for a for a two-and jam like like I I have to

Give Andre Drummond credit he does a really good job staying with uh the big man the one thing I do want to put out there as a caveat for a lot of people though is right the excitement around Andre Drummond and will it still be that over

The next five or six games because if you were ever going to play against a center that you know Andre Drummond is going to just be better than it’s Clint capella and there’s no disrespect to Clint capella but what you do is dunk and rebound and Andre Drummond is

Literally one of the best I’mma just grab this ball and then dunk it back or I’mma just grab this ball and throw it down that you’re gonna face so Clint capella going up against drum was a really tough matchup for him yeah agreed agreed and and you know

You’re not always going to have that to what to what you’re saying and pointing out there but it’s it’s up to the Bulls as well to create different matchups and so we got Billy D is going to have to coach especially offensively we’ve seen him do really good defensively he’s

There was some initial doubt on how legit this injury is for Zach LaVine it seems like it may be something legitimately going on there but when you hear that LaVine is now moved on to the next phase of that have like I said cutting now in practice doing some

Runarounds uh how does that make you feel about a potential Zack LaVine return to the Chicago Bulls I mean listen if everybody keeps getting out on Zack LaVine you know he’s gonna have no choice but to return you know I mean like we thought people were in but it

Was just the toe yeah so you gota watch that but uh I guess that was we jok around about the toe so much they said we wasn’t dipping all the way in it it was just the toe baby we we can only give him the toe but uh I

I think I I don’t know the LaVine thing at this point is is very just whatever AK is going to do he’s going to do right to me I feel like you can’t put him back in this lineup because we haven’t seen this Bulls team play at this level um

Everybody the the people that are in favor of him talk about him adjusting um and adjusting to what the team is currently doing I don’t know if that’s going to happen because I don’t believe that he is is a big fan of the coach and I don’t think that’s going to change

With that being said it’s good to see him reh stabbing and and moving in the right direction cutting and running again um and I never want to see him down right you don’t you want don’t want to see him out of the lineup and and you

Feel like if he is able to come back and give you anything one it UPS his trade value two he’s he’s an asset to have when he’s playing like Zack LaVine but what is him playing like Zack LaVine entail for this team is that going to

Take away from him there’s there’s a lot of questions that have to be answered before I feel very very comfortable about Zack LaVine putting back on a bull’s uniform and and suiting up with this team yeah and so Billy Donovan actually after practice was asked about the situation with Zack LaVine he was

Asked if there was a timetable for his return and he says this even if he passes part of it I’m not sure how many days of cutting it will be it’s going to be more uh loads of more intensity and and a lot of it for him right now is

Going to be structured when it’s when it’s to cut here cut there uh the next step after that would be to have him start randomly cutting and moving with without it being a directional workout so very very clearly there setting that expectation that it’s going to be a

Minute still before Zack LaVine returns um he still kind of right in the middle of that initial uh timetable for his return he could like I said I think the earliest in that if I have my dates right would have been January 10th based off when it was initially PR much yeah

We’re still we’re still a little bit away from uh over two weeks away from zakine potentially returning now I know we’ve talked about this a little bit Pat um has your has your mindset changed at all about Zack LaVine is healthy at January 10th there’s no trademark yet

For him do you just play him do you start him like do you can’t sit him you can’t sit him I mean listen he he he still makes $250 million he’s still your highest paid player on the team you can’t sit him just just off of I feel

Like sitting him I don’t want him to be here right if if you if you want to move on from him that’s one thing but if you’ve just got him sitting on the bench for no reason why that makes you look as an organization too um that he hasn’t as

Much as I I compare the addition by subtraction to the James Harden situation he is not James Harden this situation he has not um come out and been a poor teammate he has not been somebody who has not been in support of what the young guys are doing he’s been

Somebody who’s out there cheering every single game you you have no reason to not play him if you haven’t moved him I think that is all the more reason for AK to get kind of a little bit more on the phone with some of these guys and try

And find a market and if there is no Market there is no market right like I guess if we get to January 15th and there’s still no Market there’s not much you can do about that um and then it then it falls on Billy Donovan to say

Hey listen you have to find a way to play this guy you have to find a way to play him to where he works the best and you have to find a way to play him to where he works the most with the team and you cannot allow the grip that Kobe

White has on this team right now to fade away because Zack LaVine is back yeah and I think that’s that’s the biggest thing is like how do you incorporate him back into the offense now with the way the ball’s moving around things like that theoretically you can get him back in there pretty

Easily but you don’t want to you don’t want to take away from Kobe especially while Kobe’s playing well and if you start seeing that it’s starting to disrupt Kobe’s Rhythm or whatever uh Billy Donovan’s gonna have to coach now Billy Donovan’s done a pretty damn good

Job coaching here lately I got to give him his credit for it he’s he’s done a really solid admirable job at working out these uh the balance of this roster and hopefully hopefully that that’s going to continue but like on paper the way that the Bull’s playing right now

Should play into what Zack LaVine likes to do and on paper doesn’t always come into reality but on paper it’s there I mean and and maybe I guess here’s the flip side of this is is the scenario that that we have talked about as the one scenario of this works for the

Chicago Bulls is zline comes back he adjusts he allows Kobe white to keep doing what he’s doing and they they find a way to incorporate him in his catch and shoot role which he’s been very good at but I do think that you’re at a point
