The problem is Ham doesn't know how to coach. The constant different lineup changes has players looking over their shoulders. Some of these guys were still learning how to play together.

Lakers trying to create/find an identity which is why they are leaning into speed and athleticism. They looking at our 2 best players and want to build the team based on that. Think of 2020 we were stacked with speed and athleticism which usually can be a great indicator of a good defensive team with a mix of the right pieces

I agree, d ham is flying under the radar in terms of his coaching. Specifically, the lakers lack of consistent focus and effort, substitutions patterns (line-up combinations), and lack dynamic offensive sets.
Pulling for D Ham, but it just feels like there’s often matchups were the Lakers loose the head coaching matchup versus their opponents.
Here's what the Lakers need:
– a shot creator
– a spot up 3pt shooter + defender
– a backup center that can crash the boards / get offensive rebounds
So it's basically Lavine, Caruso, and Drummond..
If Pelinka can pull a trade to get those three players, we're all good. But I highly doubt the Bulls' asking price
The reason why lavine would be a nice fit Is because darvin can’t fuck up his mins and the rotations. He refuses to play Rui and reeves heavy mins and even get Christie on the floor at all. With lavine he will start and that’s one less player darvin can screw over

If D-lo is benched then Ham really needs to put Reaves back in the starting lineup. I get Reaves has been good off the bench and Ham probably doesn't want to stir that up too much, but if guys are already confused about their roles, just admit you were trying things and just start fresh. Reddish or Vando to the bench. Prince can probably stay with the starters, his 3pt percentage has come around.
What about targeting Cam Thomas of the Brooklyn Nets!
