“When somebody’s ready to go, they ready to go,” said Aldridge. “(Expletive) was going back and forth with them but we didn’t know what was going on.”
“I ain’t going to speak for nobody but he didn’t want to do all the other (expletive) that Pop did too. Like the learning. He just wants to hoop. Everybody don’t want to learn what’s in Africa. Learn the maps and he just wanted to hoop. I ain’t saying that’s right or wrong but he just didn’t want to do that.”

In addition, Barnes and Jackson spoke about how Tony Parker publicly stated how he returned from injury faster than Leonard which left the former Spur feeling that the franchise didn’t have his back in public.
Interestingly, this led to Aldridge ignoring their statements and trying to get out of that topic completely and not comment on Parker’s past comments.

“Even when you’re there, certain (expletive) is never told to everybody, some (expletive) stays behind closed doors,” said Aldridge.

I mean… that doesn’t seem unreasonable. We’ve always heard rumors of Pop doing stuff like that. That’s great and all but some people just want to play and also some people may not agree with whatever Pop is trying to teach them. I think it’s great Pop tries to make sure people understand there’s more to things than basketball, but at the same time sometimes people just want to go to work.

Still, I don’t like Kawhi for how he handled things.

Kawhi trying to get jumpers up as Pop tries to atone for his past CIA ambitions

It just needs to be noted that “Spurs Culture” lasted exactly one season without Duncan. That’s why it’s asinine when people say he was lucky to have Pop. They fit well for sure but Timmy was sooooooo the main ingredient.

He and his “posse” wanted to go to LA…

    Nothing was gonna stop that

  6. joben_512

He hated being in San Antonio. The way he left is considered the bitchiest move ever.

  7. I can relate to wanting to go to work but not drink the kool aid too. It’s ok for people to just want to do their job and leave work at work.

Sure LA whatever you say.. That doesn’t mean he couldn’t be with his teammates during the playoffs cheering them from the bench.

And he won a chip with Toronto. What was his excuse for leaving a championship team? Masai was asking him to get a doctorate in Critical race theory?

His fucking head was turned by his uncle and he wasn’t going to be with the Spurs even if Pop had kept his mouth shut.

  9. Pop needs to keep his toxic political views separate from his job. Now we know it set back this organization 10 years.

  10. What kind of real world teaching was Pop trying to cram down his throat? What does “maps and whats in Africa” even mean?
