BI had a great game. But the game ball goes to Larry fucking Nance. If we get that Larry from now on, I’d be THRILLED.

  2. Briguy_fieri

The New Orleans pelicans are 1-0 when I go shopping at Aldi on gameday

  3. Ureallyworemasks

Only points of the game for trigga mattered most two clutch threes including the dagger!!

  4. Did we just exorcise 2 of our demons in 1 game? Finally beat Utah, and won a close game in the clutch… never thought I’d see that day. PSLF!!!

  5. calmdimensions

“We need a backup big” mfs when they realise we have Larry nance

  6. If Zion hit those late fts, this would have been his best overall game as a Pel. His defense was awesome tonight and made all the right plays on offense

Edit: 8 assists and zero turnovers.

  7. Sslagathor

Wow putting our 2 best players in the same action in clutch time who knew it could be so simple?

  8. Gamez6444

We all needed this win tonight. I don’t know if I could have stomached another blown lead loss. Well done Pels.

  9. _Wado3000

Basketball shouldn’t be as hard for this team as it is

Z got boards all game, BI’s 3 in the clutch was huge (need many more), and Trey woke up exactly when we needed it

Huge huge shouts out to Larry. High IQ and was able to move efficiently for the first time in forever

  10. AnotherStatsGuy

It was the Pelicans’ turn to make some BS shots. Man, there’s still a lot to work on, but a win’s a win. Getting Larry back made all the difference. Zion had almost a great game. The confidence of Trey.

  11. workwork187

Larry was fantastic and needed bc Jonas was dogshit. I think Larry’s defense and energy can help close out these close games we keep dropping (except for tonight). BI is a cold motherfucker and you could tell he really wanted this one.

And let’s keep the ball out of CJ’s hands in the last 2 min of close games. I love him, but he’s the last guy I want taking do or die shots in crunch time. Let BI and Trey handle those.

  12. Ureallyworemasks

Somebody said trey shouldnt shoot those long threes i cant remember it was a forgetful comment

  13. Said the last game that Jonas is not the answer. Got downvoted. Happy to be vindicated in one game at least:

    JV -9 for the game

    Larry +16

Team looks so much better w Larry on the floor. Defensively Larry was a revelation, on offense he was active and provided interior spacing for BI and Zion.

  14. Razor-Ramon-Sessions

Zion playing defense…rebounding…two assist away from a triple double 👀

  15. Larry Nance Jr had his best game of the year. If he stays healthy thats a huge element of our defense. Our stars closed us out of an otherwise sloppy game. Get wins where you can

  16. Dazzling-Mirror8982

Wild how it takes 32 games for Willie to see effective Zion-BI screen actions are in generating easy buckets. This is a level of incompetence that should get coaches fired immediately.

  17. lets goooo motherfucker maybe I take back what I said in my gc

  18. Kwanzaa-Bot

Larry looked healthy for the first time this season. He hasn’t moved this well since December last year. Huge game from him.

Not surprised we won when we ran Z/BI plays in the clutch. More of that rather than the awful iso to end games.

  19. A healthy Larry is a very good player. An injured Larry is a bad player. Nice win now on to LA

  20. Mesame121489

We finally got some BI and Z pick and rolls. Make teams guard them Willie don’t just sit them in the corner like you are Steve Kerr. Also Z had a great game. This is the Larry we need night in and night out, I’m glad he was able to get healthy.

  21. Some of these lineups are just disheartening. Zion waiting on the sideline to return to the game all crunch time was perplexing as well.

  22. Pelicans_Got_Next

I’ll always take the win, but I really hope we clean up the offense/rotations some time soon

  23. SpaceAfricanJesus

BI had a pretty good game outside of some rebounding issues. Would like to see him getting going a little sooner.

Zion played one of his best all around games. He was more active on defense, rebounded well, and could’ve easily had 10+ assists if not for several easy missed looks (JV *cough*). The missed Free throws can’t happen but he got no favors being subbed back in the game so late.

JV and Trey were really off tonight. Although shoutout to Trey for the shot that iced the game.

Larry must’ve ate a senzu bean before this game.

Underwhelming win but a win against the team from Utah nonetheless.

  24. IHaveNoFiya

So Willie basically said, “y’all think we can’t win a close game? Challenged accepted, I’ll keep it close the whole fucking game.”

  25. Savings-Bird-1226

Had to be the roughest game offensively I’ve ever seen from Jonas. Hope that got it out his system, because we’ll need him for the Lakers.

  26. Wakandaforever456

Pelicans have real depth. I didn’t even know Larry nance was injured

  27. BasketTimely

The last minute or so was finally some good offense in the clutch. Finally doing some BI/Zion 2 man action and good results happened.

I don’t know what it is and hopefully this was something to build off of, but this team looks lost late in games. Hopefully this game is a good start to fix those problems.

  28. definitelydidntcheat

The Zion/BI PnR with the kickout to Trey or CJ needs to spammed throughout the entire game

  29. Zion and CJ resting for 4/6 last minutes of the 4th quarter is inexcusable

  30. __azdak__

Pretty good win. Watching in person: honestly starting to wonder about the CJ/BI/Z lineups- they haven’t played a _ton_ so still might work itself out, but feel like we somehow end up underutilizing both BI and Zion in those minutes. This team still has a _lot_ of hesitation/clunkiness running sets with all 3 in, and bigger picture I’m not sure Z chilling in the corner or BI floating around while CJ either cooks or takes dodgy Steph 3s makes sense. May well just be Zion still reintegrating with the team, I dunno. We def don’t take enough 3s. Also, refs still hate us lol
