Clear as day who he’s talking about here, at least in part. Although some people here are having a hard time admitting it right now.

  1. I’ve been firmly planted on the, we can’t trade Kyle train… but I think it’s time to at least explore our options.

Maybe he should have a more structured offense then..

I think this is a jab at the whole team moreso than at a single player.

For having so many offensive weapons this team is pretty terrible on offense. We’re bottom third of the league now. We’re being carried by our defense most nights. When the defense isn’t there our team is troubled.

To top that off we have multiple players that have terrible turnover issues way to often.

We got two guys that HAVE to be double teamed within the 3 point line. We have to be able to find the open man. Jaden and Mike should be getting 15 pts a game. We don’t need to force it.

  5. It’s about time Finch called out Mike Conley on his bullshit! /s

He said “everyone at times is too worried about getting their own offense going” and that “other people, if they haven’t touched the ball for a little while, they can’t just decide that they’re gonna put their head down and go to the hoop or that they’re gonna jack it because they haven’t shot it for a little while.”

Finch continued to say, it’s time for the offense to grow up: “I thought at the end of the second quarter, in particular, we all were having a pity party for ourselves offensively. There’s a lot of ways to be immature. And generally, this team has been very mature. But we gotta grow up offensively. It’s time.”

This is where I feel like we should really consider free agency and decide that sign someone who can give us 15 off the bench, 18 off the bench. Defensively we have one of the highest defensive net ratings in the league right now but offensively we could really take a step up.

  8. Of course this guy says “clear as day who he’s talking about” and everyone in the comments has no idea which player it is. Maybe it’s our offense as a whole? We all know defense has been carrying us.

Offense can be fixed.. have to remember before this season our starting 5 played not too many games together and we added TBJ/Shake. It is still early and we have probably been the 1 seed for longer than we haven’t at this point even with a mid offense.

Ant and Kat got greedy with Luka out. Ant was so hot that it’s hard to blame him but he was careless in the first half. Kat just needs to make the easy play. I’d like to see some Ant and Kat pick and roll but that usually leads to offensive fouls for Kat.

OP. You said it’s clear as day and there’s a lot of disagreement in the comments, who were you referring to?

Ant = make the easy pass when driving and swarmed

KAT = control yourself when you drive, move the ball when you get it at the top of the arc

Rudy = try the occasional deep seal if you have a tiny guy on you but if you don’t get the ball immediately, move your ass to the dunker spot and be ready to screen away from the ball or flow into empty side PNR with Mike. You’re not getting post touches unless you’ve completely planted your man well under the basket

  12. Finch and TC really need to thread the needle here.

How much of our offense is stagnant because of Ant (and KAT) decision making and how much is it because our talent is lacking?

Overall, our offense is very mid.

But how much would this offense be better if Shake and Kyle are scoring/shooting well?

Also, aside from Ant offense – what other offense do we have that teams can’t scheme against? Both Conley-Gobert and KAT are very stoppable.

Tbh, I feel like just KAT having a straight up mid J solves a lot of things. Not the fall away kick defender mid J he does now.
