Tyrese Haliburton and Indiana Pacers defense (!) stand out as Pacers take down Chicago Bulls

That’s two straight on the road for the Pacers they go into Chicago and win their weirdest game of the season by far Halton was brilliant their defense might be turning a bit of a corner and they’re gonna have a winning record when the year ends we’ve got a lot to talk about

On today’s lockon Pacers podcast you are locked on Pacers your daily Indiana Pacers podcast part of the locked on podcast Network your team every day what up y’all happy Friday you made it through the week and welcome into another edition of the lockon Pacers podcast where are we of course talk

About the Indiana Pacers as always my name’s Tony East I cover the team for Forbes and SII and today we’re coming at you from a clsh thing deep in the United Center after the Pacers beat the Bulls on the road two straight road wins for the Pacers and man did they need this

One they’re going to have a winning record in the year ends and they did this one on the back of tyres Halbert and on the back of their defense yes believe it or not the Pacers might be turning a bit of a corner on that end of

The floor we’ll talk about that and plenty more today how they got this win the weird game Flow the corner turning they’re may be doing on that end of the floor how their size is helping them defensively with this new starting lineup so much going positively after a

Slump for the Pacers right now as they win once again the Bulls the way to start this game though is to talk about how strange the flow of the game actually was because the final score will not do you any favors if you just look at it to see what happened 120 to

104 is the final of this game the Bulls 104 by the way the lowest the Pacers have allow this season by a lot the first time they’ve conceded under 110 in this game so that looks really impressive Pacers score 120 themselves halberton stats look fantastic but heeld

Has 19 Miles Turner is 24 you look at all that and you think oh comfortable win for the Pacers and you’re kind of right the last seven minutes of the game the Pacers were dominant they looked like much the better team for that stretch but they were losing right

Before that and if you pull up a game chart of this game and the lead and by how much and who it was you’ll see that this game was nothing short of the weirdest game of the Pacers season first quarter was back and forth second quarter for much of it was back and

Forth right late in the second quarter was a seven-point game it was it was that close and it looked like it for that stretch and then until the middle of the third the Pacers were so much better than the Bulls they went in this crazy run from halftime till the middle

Of the third to the point they were up 25 they were looking awesome on both ends their defense was so impressive there was a point it took the Bulls until I’ll look it up exactly because this is funnily enough exactly when the game turned against the Pacers so the

Bll scored 31 points in the first quarter and then they scored 30 points for the next like 18 minutes they hit 61 uh until the F minute Mark of the Third third quarter so they had 30 points for uh 19 minutes excuse me after scoring 31 in the first quarter the

Pacers defense for that stretch was awesome they were making life hard the Bulls they weren’t fouling they had the right guys on the right people they were rotating well Chicago looked really uncomfortable and they were matching that with good enough offense and so at

That point it was 84 to 61 with 523 to go after a jayen Smith free throw in the third quarter it was really 8361 with 630 to go and I’m going no reference that just to tell you about the weird part of this game for the next six and a

Half minutes if you’ve ever been to dicks or gallions or any sporting good store you’ve seen the basketball hoops there that you’re not supposed to use they have that literally a plastic lid on them so if you shoot it just hits a lid and doesn’t go through a net that’s

What it felt like the Pacers were shooting on they couldn’t make anything even their good shots weren’t going in and they had some turnovers and they missed free throws and they tried subbing and that didn’t work and hbert tried to attack into the rim and that didn’t work nothing worked and so for

The rest of the quarter they scored one point one point on a Tyrese Halburn free throw with a minute and a half to go as the Bulls cut the deficit from 25 all the way down to eight as the Pacers scored two points in the final six and a

Half minutes of the fourth quarter but they were still ahead and I’ll talk about why that’s key in a second they were still ahead by eight going into the fourth but the Bulls had all the momentum I was there their crowd’s always really good even when the Bulls

Kind of stink and their crowd was awesome today fourth quarter starts D rozan gets two free throws right away Caruso scores a little bit later and finally Ben ma hits a free throw with 104 to go Pacers up five then IOD dunu scores and there it is with 932 to go in

The fourth quarter Andrew nard nine-footer fade away in the lane Nails it so that means from the 6:30 Mark of the third quarter to the 9:30 Mark of the fourth quarter that is an insane amount of time that’s 10 almost 10 minutes of basketball that’s nine minutes of basketball the Pacers did not

Make a shot they didn’t they couldn’t make anything they were struggling to get to their right spots they had to have halberton out halberton hit his minutes peak in this game 37 not his Peak for the season but just like what they’re comfortable with and he had back

Pain all day he was standing all day to play in this game he wanted to play so bad so he couldn’t he didn’t sit down all day he had to get work with trainers all day just to play right so with him out they had to sit him for as long as

They did they could not score finally n hard scores and here’s why this is key that stretch is unbelievable they made two free throws or three free throws excuse me for their only points in nine minutes of basketball that’s atrocious they should be getting smoked but they

Were winning by five they were still winning and the Bulls climbed ahead actually in the next stretch Kobe white hit a three from the parking lot and then hit two free throws but they were only down by three and they were ahead after that slump and so halberton comes

In right at with Kobe white at the free throw line after he makes the second one it’s 9390 halberton just checked in and then in 30 seconds heel hits a three 30 seconds after that halberton hits a three 20 seconds after that Halbert hits another three and then 30 seconds after

That Miles Turner dunks on an assist from you guested halberton and all of a sudden they scored 12 points in two minutes and they’re ahead by eight again Halbert and changed the game and had him up but that run is not possible none of this is possible if they aren’t ahead

Still after their awful slump and so this this is such a weird game Flow right I can run through that whole stretch where the Pacers were dominant and looked amazing and the blls are playing pretty good leading up to this game might I add they’ve won four or

Five they look better uh since LaVine went out Kobe White’s been playing Amazing so to to weather that storm says a lot about their defense right and yeah they gave up a decent number of points in that stretch the Bulls were in transition the whole time because the

Pacers couldn’t score but the fact that they defended well for the quarter and a half leading up to that stretch to limit the Bulls to 30 points in 19 minutes was just as important in the flow of this game as that terrible Pacer stretch for 9 minutes so their stretch for 9 minutes

Was worse than how good they were for the 19 minutes before but 19 minutes is longer and so that ended up working in their favor where they were still able to be ahead and they they held on for just long enough to get tyres halberton back in the game when it was winnable

And halberton was brilliant tonight I’ll do most of a whole segment on him and so this whole game Flow was weird where the Pacers went from a a wobbly first quarter to an awesome defensive really long stretch to the worst offensive stretch they’ve had all season to winning because they closed it out

Perfectly right they go up eight they have all the momentum back they get a the bull Patrick Williams tip dunks on the next possession all of a sudden it looks like here could be some momentum for the Bulls and guess what tyres hurn hits another step back on the very next

Pacers possession and then guess what he assists mes Turner on the very next Pacers possession right he just came in and absolutely ripped their hearts out his clutch play was was perfect right and for all the stuff he’s been criticizing himself for to have no turnovers in this game to do this on

Back pain was just so impressive so big picture and I will talk about defense and I will talk about Tyrese Alber and I will talk about how their size has been good with these new lineups and some guys who stepped up Miles Turner was really good Jaylen Smith has been

Awesome All Season you can point to a number guys buddy healed at half his threes right that’s fantastic that’s what they need him to do but big picture they won this game because they defended their butts off for a long period of time against a decent team and that’s

Not something they’ve done well all season and that’s why the game Flow ended up in their favor despite it being one of the weirder games I’ve ever seen I mean it it it was I’ll compare it to something I’ve compared other Pacer stuff to before it was Payton Manning

RCA Dome levels of extremely quiet to Extremely Loud and then back to extremely quiet because that’s how much the Bulls were out of the game and that’s how much they got back into it when Tyreek Talton was out of the game and then he came back in and all of a

Sudden hey it’s quiet again they couldn’t believe it this fan right behind me who figured out that I was writing about the Pacers during the game asked me does he do this all the time can he make these step backs like these are crazy shots I was like yes he has

Done this all season he’s brilliant in the clutch he can carry the Pacers to a win in games that they have nine minute stretches where they cannot put the ball in the basket and then he immediately helps them score four times in four possessions awesome awesome performance from halberton down the stretch weirdest

Game of the Pacers season to me from a game Flow perspective but the the weirdness went in their favor for longer than it didn’t and that’s how you win a basketball we’re going to talk about hurns night the Pacers defense turning a little bit of a corner and why that’s

Happening there size advantages other good performers from this game in just a moment first though we’re going to talk about the lovely people over at prize picks the largest daily fantasy sports platform in North America where all you do is pick more than or less than on two

To six player stat projections and watch the winnings roll in the basketball season here you could do a combo projection for example here’s how you play prize picks well Ste Stephen Curry tonight have more than or less than 29 Points or will niika yic have more than

Or less than 10 rebounds I don’t know if those are exactly today’s but you get the gist and with basketball and football going on you can combine them in their combo leagues for example Travis Kelce plus LeBron James at 10 and a half three-pointers made plus receptions and prize pick uniquely has a

Reboot policy so your entry stay in play even if one of your players gets injured you can get rebooted if they don’t return in the second half priz pick the only daily fantasy sports platform with injury insurance policies go to price.com lockdown NBA use the code lockdown NBA

Today and every single day for your second listen check out lock on bulls here about the other side of this game the Bulls are playing better the Bulls guys have been covering the team as such as a team that is is growing and is figuring out their identity a little bit

But a slip up tonight they could not score they were not getting to the foul line they were not led by their star power they were without some key guys of course but shooting seven for 27 from three is tough even though they took care of the ball they didn’t have a

Chance against the Pacers when they made 12 fewer threes than the Indiana Pacers in this game lockon bulls will have more on that I want to talk about defense before I talk about Tyrese Halbert and I’m not going to say the Pacers are defending good although they good enough

For them I’m not going to say they’re defending well but they have certainly raised their level they had that practice if you all remember the Tuesday December 19th the day before they played the Charlotte Hornets and they had just played three and four nights and it did

Not go well they right if you if you can remember this stretch somehow my uh my calendars all my stuff there we go they just had that stretch where they lost in Washington giving up 137 they lost in Minnesota giving up 127 they lost against La giving up 151 before that

They lost Milwaukee giving up 140 right their defense was crap they were they were scoring fine enough in a couple of those games except for Minnesota but they couldn’t stop anybody right and so they had to get get down to work and you know reconfigure some things defensively

And some of it was getting back to the basics on the scheme that they have this year and some of it was slight tweaks to the scheme they have this year Bruce Brown did an interview with the athletic with Kelly eeko about you know they’re toggling a little bit more towards the

Some of the threes they were trying to prevent earlier in lie of some of the drives that they were giving up earlier in the season Kaylin Cooper of course at basketball she wrote and by the way be on the lookout for a podcast from her I

May or may not be on there um Kaylin Cooper has written about some defensive tweaks that the Pacers have made recently as well right and so they come out in that Hornets game and they defend pretty well but it’s the Hornets right so so even I was like well they scored

144 that was more important but they gave up 113 right that was good they won that game then they went to Memphis and their offense stunk they only scored 103 they were throwing the ball over the gym they shot a portly and yeah they could have defended a little better but 116 is

Good for them they lost that game then Orlando the Sunday after they only scored 110 Orlando’s defense has always been Troublesome for them they lose that game then they go to Houston 117 that’s a good number for the Pacers they score 123 and win and then tonight they score 120 and allow

104 their first time under 110 the whole season if you’ll remember for a while before this run of you know Memphis Orlando the number I always had for the Pacers is their line of demarcation of they they should win this game the mat say they should win was

125 125 points they have still to this day lost uh four times this season allowing under 125 they’ve won they’ve played 16 games now 17 allowing less than 125 they’re 12 and five in those games right so that is a key indicator for their wins and losses were at above

125 you can do the math they have four wins Total right so they that has been a key number for them in terms of winning and losing and it’s just an arbitrary cuto off it’s but that’s a high number right so if they’ve done well keeping

Teams below that they win and their wins above it are the Atlanta game which was nuts uh in Miami without halberton where they were on fire from deep and in Philly in the inseason tournament right um so 125 has been the number and these last four now five games they’ve been

Under 120 in fact they’ve been under 118 in all of them so some things are happening here right especially the last two now they’re playing a little bigger to be clear but some of it is a like a little bit slower of play it’s going to lead to fewer possessions and it’s going

To lead to fewer chances for their team to score a bunch of points right so naturally per game stats are not the perfect way of looking at this I thought they defended pretty poorly in Memphis despite giving up 116 right they were giving up easy drives and a lot of space

To the Griz Le the other four games I thought they had good moments of Defense the second half against Orlando they defended really well the first half was terrible Charlotte they defended well the whole game to me they had good moments of defense against Houston had great defense in this game against the

Bulls and so that’s a lot of numbers and numerical crap to say maybe the Pacers are not not turning a corner right there’s not a no one thinks they’re a good defensive team right now but maybe they’re figuring something out on that end of the floor maybe between that

Practice and a couple tweaks to stay bigger and Jaylen Smith coming back and Andrew n hard coming back something is happening here because they look a little better you can go to their last five games uh on nba.com uh really MB every every team’s last five games sort

By defensive rating the P are 13th in their last five games 115.2 defensive rating three and two in that stretch right the Bulls game is now in that log so I couldn’t do this math right that’s not good 115 is still like not awesome if you search for the whole season

Segment and sort by defensive rating a 115.2 defensive rating would put you right behind the Portland Trailblazers right with the Phoenix Suns at 19th or 20th right that’s not a good defensive rating that’s below average in the league that’s below median I should say in the league but one it’s way better

Than where the Pacers have been all season still now after this Bulls game where the P are now 16- 14 their defensive rating is 120.4 that’s 28th and being ahead of the Wizards and hornets basically means you’re last among competitive teams they’re creeping closer to the Hawks and pistons to me

The Pacers should try to get above all the non-competitive teams if they can reach the Jazz in defensive rating that would mean a lot for their growth but all this to say their defense for for the whole League’s point right now being above the median above average for these last five

Games shows the progress they’re making on that end of the floor right they did put a focus on it and I’m not saying this will last I’m not saying this will be something that lasts going forward right the Bulls are not World beaters on offense the Rockets are not World in

Fact most of the teams they’ve played in this stretch are not good offensive teams Charlotte is 26th Chicago is 23rd Houston is 20th Orlando’s 21st right that’s the easiest thing you could point to as you’re out here now the Grizz or the the Memphis Grizzlies are a good offensive team um certainly although

With jaw that you know their offensive rating you can throw out the window they were 29th before that so you could point to those numbers and say hey they’ve just played some crappy offenses and I would say yep that’s fair right when they play some better teams coming up

The Celtics who are fourth in offense twice early in the next month the Bucks were second in offense twice early in the next month and that game will be up and heated the Knicks literally in two days who were ninth in offense if they can remain at a high level defensively

That will be more telling certainly but what you have seen in these last five games and really in the stretch for the Pacers since that practice which I think is key because that’s since then where you’ve seen both some tweaks in style some guys are turning from injury and

Even most recently a full-on lineup change significant lineup change they’ve defended better and the numbers say maybe this is something maybe they have climbed from to use Kaitlin Cooper’s phrasing that I think is perfect they don’t have to be good on defense they don’t have to be average they just have

To be bad and they’ve been terrible if they are going right now from terrible to bad that is significant for them now let’s talk about what that means because we’ve seen the thing I said that it does change their style and identity a little bit right their Pace during the last

Five games is 21st in the league right they’re playing a little slower their offense in that stretch still good at seventh but it’s not the top of the league if those sacrifices are What It Takes and it makes the team better then it’s worth it duh right being seventh on

Offense and whatever they can settle in on defense but it’s been 13th the last five games if that rate they’re three and two in that stretch that’s a winning record competition is the competition say what you will this was an important stretch for them but if they can continue at that level

Maybe that is a sustainable profile excuse me maybe that is something they can continue down a path of I don’t know if slow is going to be the way for the Pacers forever but they they know they can rely on speed they know they can rely on getting into their stuff early

And they know they have a brilliant offensive player in tyes halber who we’ll talk about in just a second but if this is a thing if more size if easing up a little on the the way they’re defending threes if of more of a focus on defense and effort and intensity is

What it takes for them to be a more competitive team on the end of the floor and it makes them a winning team at three and two right now maybe this is something they should continue to do and see how it works but I numbers guy and

The Pacers a team that watches film and has way better data than I ever could they’ll need to see it even longer than me right they’ll have more games against top teams to look at the film to look at the data and see how they feel so I

Think this upcoming stretch Nicks bucks bucks uh Hawks Celtic Celtics will be very telling is the Pacers defensive growth actually real are they really turning a corner somewhat or have they just played some crummy teams and succeeded with a slightly tweaked style and some more size on the floor those

Questions will be answered soon but to the Pacers credit they have defended well recently and the results are showing for it good for them this is the first time all season this has happened but they still need to score some points to win these games and boy did they find

A way to do it today on the back of their star Tyrese halberton ridiculous game second since 1985 to do something that only Chris Paul had done before what was it I’ll tell you in just a second after this break where we talk about the lovely people over at FanDuel the weather’s

In the Pistons maybe breaking their streak in Boston but they lose in overtime man is kah Hill doing his best covering the Pistons at locked on pistons and John caralis kills it covering the Celtics at locked on Celtics so two great shows for you to learn more about two other NBA teams we

Close out Today’s Show with Tyrese halir what a game and this one won’t pop because of the scoring 21 points wasn’t even the highest on the Pacers Miles Turner outscored him Miles Turner I’m I’m sorry to Miles Turner who I’m not going to talk about enough today who hit

All of his free throws and was eight for 12 from the field the 24 points on 12 shots and was plus 30 30 miles Turner was awesome and and tyres halberton steals his shine snatches it out of the air tyres halberton shooting was from inside the

Arc especially one for four on two is not particularly great only got to the fine once one for two from the fine nothing about his Rim attacks was that special in this game and yet he finishes with 21 points uh made six threes hit his free throw and made it two that’ll

Get you to 21 points 21 great points a ton of them in the fourth quarter when the Pacers needed it the most they came in he came in remember Kobe white hits the second free throw right after he checks in so they’re down three they need Points bad and they need him fast

Well who’s better at scoring than tyres Halbert they got him the ball and he hit some huge shots of his 21 points eight of them um over a third came in the fourth quarter is it made two-pointer came in that quarter and five of assist came in that quarter as well which is

Vital because he finished with 20 assists 20 assists that is an unbelievable number to see he had 20 assists the Bulls had 19 assists tyres halberton accounted for more setting up of his teammates than the Bulls 20 assists is just a ridiculous number and Tyrese halberton is a master passer H

But that’s his career high in assists more than he had in that first season since joining the Pacers ridiculous to see tyres halber to get a career high anything anymore with how good he is and oh by the way no turnovers plus 302 in a win in a 16-point

Win what an absolutely bananas performance from tyres halber second player ever Chris Paul was the first with 20 I believe this is true I heard someone ask him a question using the this stat in the question I believe the first player since Chris Paul and the only other player besides Chris Paul

That since turnovers are tracked with 20 assists and no turnovers in one game uh the third Pacer ever with 20 assists in a game if you can get the other two congrats to you it’s Jamal Tinsley and Jaylen Rose Jaylen Rose was the only one

Of those two to have a 20 and 20 game and of course Tinsley and Rose both had turnovers in their outlandish performances holy moly I mean the Bulls had nothing for him no matter what they sent it him he got the ball and he got it to the right guy right he had

Two-thirds of the Pacers assists in this game I I mean the way he was getting it out getting it to the right guy and getting the Pacers offense running was ridiculous they lost he was off the floor for 10 minutes and 50 seconds right they lost those minutes by

16 that some of that was into the third quarter some of that was in the first half but the Bulls had nothing for him and they were playing well in transition so with him out there and the Pacers scoring the Bulls were naturally just way worse he did everything and oh by

The way he did it on a messed up back right they’re going through shooter on today in Chicago his back’s really tight it hurts him really bad he leaves shoot around Rick caros said throughout the day he actually thought Tyrese wasn’t even gonna play in this game the

Phrasing pregame from Carlile made me think that there was a chance halberton wasn’t going to play halberton said he got with the trainers called the pisser training staff best in the league um that all gave him opinions about his back they all worked on it he went back

To his total said he’s not sitting down he’s not laying down he’s keeping the back straight so he sets up his steam deck on top of like his suitcase on a desk he said so he can stay standing he played Super Mario Strikers with a Player Development assistant Isaac Jacob

They were going to keep him standing they were going to keep him active they were G to keep that uh back stretched out yes these are the details he provided us I love that I get to talk about Super Mario Strikers on this podcast um and he stayed standing all

Day and he was good to go it worked out that he was painfree enough that he could play said he said he could feel it after the game wasn’t feeling great but he pushed through it he loves playing on the road and he had a huge game in

Chicago last year and he he wanted this one especially coming off a big win in Houston and he showed up for his team and made all the plays and all the passes and scored all the key points in the fourth quarter when they needed the

Most it’s what stars do man they show up when it matters they fight through pain and they play awesome games that the Pacers need to win they are now at a key moment right they could have easily in this stretch they lost six to seven they

Had a key stretch right now I talked about this with Kevin Bowen last week key schedule stretch they could have easily sunk under 500 the lost to Orlando got them to 500 they could have sunk there they didn’t they won in Houston they won in Chicago they can

Beat the Knicks I’m not saying they will the Knicks are very good they can beat the Knicks they could get out of this stretch going four and two which to me they had to go at least four and two they still have a chance at it if they can

Win against the Knicks they could go three games over 500 into a very tough January and they could have a chance to stay in the mix in the East going into a very tough January because they won a key game in Houston and because Tyrese halberton was awesome

When they needed it against Orlando he gave them a chance against Houston to gave him a chance and they got it and against the Bulls to gave them a chance and They seized it so the Pacers right now they’re starting bigger Jaylen Smith’s playing well in that role Aaron

NIS playing well at the three their bench guys had solid games they’re defending better for the fifth game in a row they held their opponent under their Mendoza Line of winning versus losing and they won it for the third time in those five games their star player is

Breaking out of his slump which some of it he called self-inflicted some of it he didn’t but he’s making threes again he’s not thrown the ball all over the gym to use his words and all of a sudden the Pacers slump maybe maybe a thing of

The past three of their last five have been wins they’ve done it against at least decent teams not great teams but decent teams right they’ll be happy to beat a bull surging team and a Rockets team that’s awesome at home in these games they have a chance to get a a nice

Win against a great team when they play the Knicks on Saturday and this could be a very important stretch for them and at a good time they seem to be turning out of the slump they were in coming out of the inseason tournament and their defense and Ty talber are to thank hope

  1. Are the Pacers actually taking a step on defense, or is the recent success a mirage from playing against five-straight bottom ten offenses?

  2. Tony East is a beast, im born and raised 🙌 in Chicago Illinois for almost forty years and his love 💕 and dedication for the Pacers is making me love the Pacers ( and when i say Tony East is a beast, i mean Tony East is the best)

  3. Haliburton deserves as much Blame as he does credit though. HE TAKES TOO MANY ILL-ADVISED SHOOTS WHEN HE'S "FEELING IT", Skips and dances after shots INSTEAD OF GETTING BACK ON D, AND GETS BEAT EVERY TIME. This happens MULTIPLE TIMES a game. Have Fun, BUT TAKE THIS SHIT SERIOUSLY….and give Myles his Flowers! Rick is a GOOD Coach.

  4. We beat Houston & Chicago—big deal—the Knicks game is a true test. Go bigger! Start Toppin on Barrett & Nesmith on Brunson, Smith & Myles rotate on bully Randle. However, can see it now—Ricky will insist that Nembwit guard Brunson & he’ll get schooled & foul out & we’ll lose.

  5. Imagine that, I've said Nesmith and Smith should get most all the minutes and put Nembhard in the starting lineup and it works. I should be a coach.

  6. Very important win to keep the mark of over 500 there before the new year and to stop the overall slide. Trying to show we are making strides from last year and at the end of the day the record is where they are trying to do it – so we need to do it…and hats off to Ty for toughing it out and showing up massively! Shows grit and determination and that spills over to the reset of the team. No excuses…play hard and play smart and don't quit. Enjoying the lineup change. Seems the in season was truly a micro playoff experience. It taught up we will be bullied and attempted to be out matched with physicality. Also that it's not just one big game but up to 7 a series. Also that teams can and will figure out defensive schemes and we must adjust as well as make stops. Super important experiences to learn from if we want to make actual waves with TY as the new leader. He gave us back some hope! Also great work and dedication Tony. Keep at it. You are relentless!!

  7. Now go after a real Forward, like Bridges and sign OG in FA. Go after Patrick Williams too, Bulls don't know how to use him. Trade a 1st or something for Kuzma or Grant. Play Walker as a backup.

  8. It’ll be interesting to see if the Pacers keep up this slower pace going forward. It will be very telling how they perform over the next few weeks

  9. Do the Bulls deserve some blame? They made a huge run with a small lineup, but then they put Drummond back in and the Pacers pulled away. Coincidence?
