The OG Anunoby Trade Will Backfire HARD For The Knicks… | YTNM

So a fresh new week has arrived and here on this channel that means one thing and one thing only every weekend I post an episode of this series we do called your take not mine where I Turn to You the viewers to give me your hottest NBA

Takes of the week based on what’s going on at the time and I then choose my favorite submissions and discussed them in a video this week we saw a big trade go down to Mark the beginning of trade season a historic losing streak continued and more big performances and

Matchups went down so we definitely have plenty to discuss Us in order to submit your takes I make a community post on either the day of or the day before the video similar to the one that you see on your screen now so if you want a chance

To be featured in a future episode be sure to stay on the lookout for that before we start though I want to thank prize picks for sponsoring today’s video prize pick is a skill-based real money daily fantasy sports game where you select two to six players and guess if

They will hit more or less than their projection and if you get it right you can win up to 25 times your original entry obviously we’re all basketball fans here but prize pick has almost every sport you can think of available to choose from and play to add to the

Fun they also offer frequent bonuses discounts and weekly promotions such as Taco Tuesday and flex Friday plus so many more specialty free spaces to watch for throughout the year so you don’t want to miss those I personally will be playing Tyler hero to score over 22 and

A half points Kobe white to score over 21 and a half points and Tobias Harris to grab over six and a half rebounds for tonight’s slate of games to sign up go down to the link in the description and use promo code reference when you sign

Up to get a deposit match bonus of up to $100 once again thank you to prize picks for sponsoring the video now let’s get back to the topic at hand the first take we’ll be discussing today comes to us from sheagle and they say that the Knicks made a big mistake going through

With the OG an anobi trade because they gave up to much for him so of course the big news of the weekend is that one of the players who has been in trade rumors and reportedly on the trade block for months now OG an anobi has finally been

Traded as he is now off to the Big Apple to become the newest member of the New York Knicks the full trade details are that the Knicks are receiving ogan anobi Malachi Flynn and precious AOA in exchange for RJ Barrett Emanuel quickley and a second round pick there was a

Feeling that the Knicks would end up making a trade at some point based on how often they popped up on the rumor mill so here they are going after a guy that they feel fits better into their lineup with the talent that they have and in that regard I definitely do agree

The Knicks have Jaylen Brunson and Julius Randall leading the way and both of them are high volume scorers who take a lot of shots throughout the game so having RJ Barrett out there alongside them not only felt redundant but his presence in some instances held them

Them back because Barrett is also a scor first player by Nature who likes to attack with the ball in his hands an anobi may not be as good of a scorer in a vacuum but he is a better perimeter shooter than Barrett and the fact that he’s one of the best perimeter defenders

In the whole league was the biggest reason that the Knicks wanted him that’s the good news for the Knicks referring back to the original take though this really does feel like the Knicks overpaid to get anobi given the full context anobi is on an expiring contract and from everything that I’ve read about

The situation he wants a Max contract or something close to it for his next deal not only do I not believe anobi is worth a Max contract but the Knicks gave up Barrett who is on a much more Team friendly contract to get him plus they

Also gave up Emanuel quickley who is one of the best bench scorers in the league I could easily see quickley breaking out into a 20 plus Point per game score in Toronto now all in all the Raptors got a very strong haul for a player that was

On an expiring contract and the Knicks got a guy who fits well but requires a contract extension that could them down the line in order to keep him in town long term and I’m not even completely sold on the idea of the Knicks being that much better after the

Fact they may have gotten marginally better but not without a cost the next take we’ll be discussing today comes to us from slim and he says that the Pistons are actually a lot better than what their record shows and and now their losing streak is being extended so dramatically because teams are going

Extra hard against them to avoid embarrassment while all of that may be true unfortunately the only thing that really matters at the end of the day is wins and losses the Pistons certainly didn’t enter the season expecting to be at the bottom of the standings again and

They sure as hell didn’t expect to be making history as the biggest losers the league has ever seen but that’s exactly what’s happening so if you want those narratives to end then they need to prove it on the court it’s hard not to feel some sympathy for this group

Because losing to this degree can absolutely be demoralizing but at the same time they have been doing so many things wrong in this span and their talent top to bottom just is not good enough if you’ve been watching some of their most recent games you’ll definitely see a group that has been

Competing hard down the wire but when crunch time hits they implode time and time again and have squandered winnable games Cade Cunningham is putting the team on his back nightly and boy bogdanovich has been a very welcome presence for them since his return from injury but they can’t get stops when

They need to in close games nobody else is really helping them on the offensive end and the frustration continues to mount the Pistons do have some talent but they are most definitely a bad basketball team that is a long way away from getting back into contention I

Actually made an entire video on their situation that I posted a few days ago so if you want to hear my full thoughts on this subject I implore you to go watch that and finally the last take we’ll be discussing today comes to us from user and he says that jamaran is

Going to get the Grizzlies back to being a top seed in the west before the season ends it’s basically been a tale of two seasons for Memphis this year experiencing the lowest of lows followed by the current Resurgence that is underway johnar was as you all know

Suspended for the first 25 games of the season this year and in those 25 games the Grizzlies were an awful basketball team they won just six of those 25 games sitting near the very bottom of the standings digging themselves just about as big of a hole as possible for Morant

To try to rescue them from immediately upon return Morant hit a gamewinner in his first game back against the Pelicans and the Positive Vibes returned instantly the Grizzlies have won four of their last six games now playing much more like the team that had been a lock

For the playoffs the last two years so now the question obviously becomes whether or not they actually capable of digging themselves out of this massive hole with johnar on the court the Grizzlies are a massive 9.3 points better per 100 possessions so the fact of the matter is they need him at his

Best to have any chance what makes me hesitant to fully buy into their Resurgence at the top of the West though is that in total the Grizzlies still haven’t really been producing like a top team even in their wins lately because since Morant has come back to the team

From suspension the Grizzlies have still ranked in the bottom five of The League offensively and in the middle of the pack defensively in that span I could maybe see them squeaking into the playin tournament but the lengths to which the original take believes in them is too farfetched and with that being said

That’s all I have for you today make sure to like the video subscribe to the channel and comment down below what you think about the takes discussed thanks for watching and I’ll see you all next time

  1. Honestly a win win IMO, quickley deserved a bigger role and barret needed a change of scenery, btw the best player here is quickley

  2. Rj Barret is so trash, one game he'll be 10-18 then the next 5 games be like 3-15, 4-12, 6-20 < seen a TON of those 6-20 games

  3. Going from RJ to OG in the starting 5 for the Knicks is a massive upgrade. The guy saying RJ's having a solid year is straight up lying, he's playing terribly, especially as of late, and is responsible for a lot of the Knicks' losses this year. He doesn't work well with Randle nor Brunson in their starting unit and just is so inconsistent and inefficient most nights. Quickley is a great haul for the Raps, as I think with a starting spot he can do some wondrous things, but the Knicks moving RJ might be addition by subtraction on its own, let alone replacing him with OG and a competent backup PF/C in Precious.

  4. the pistons are not better than their record shows… they are the worst team in the league. ppl can bring up how many times they've just barely lost but that's the whole reason they're terrible, they cant play in clutch time and cant close out games. what do you expect when you take every teams garbage hoping for the slim chance of finding a breakout star?

  5. Cade and Duren and Thompson are going to be a monster if pistons get their heads out of their asses. 80% of the pistons shouldn't be in the league rn. I swear if they ruin this young core it's going to be kd OKC all over again.

  6. I agree that yes players should try to get as much as they can while they're playing but it is so obnoxious dudes who are good but not worth a max and they are not. Max deals should be for the best of the best but when just good players want a max deal is kinda stupid.

  7. How does Monty Williams still have a job?! Sure, the Pistons weren't good last year, but they weren't anywhere near this bad. Which is insane to even say when they won SEVENTEEN GAMES LAST YEAR

  8. Contract extension that cripples the Knicks down the line is Knicks 101, homie. Way rather it be OG now than RJ later. I also think Precious Achua will be a rotation player for the Knicks. Knick W.

  9. Anyone who thinks the Grizz can finish better than .500 simply just dont know math. WHen Ja got back they had to play at a 60 win pace just to get to that. Thats not happening

  10. The biggest loss for the Grizzlies is Steven Adams injury. His rebounding and screening is a major key in both their defence and offence. And his defencive presence is what allowed Jackson jr to become dpoy.

  11. I get that the Knicks needed to do something, but i just dont know if this really was the right move. It was definetely an overpay for OG and his contract situation could end up being a disaster for the Knicks. OG is a great role player, he is an amazing defender no doubt, but the Knicks loose a lot of offensive production in this deal and OG is really not a great player on offense. Both Quickley and RJ are better offensive weapons than OG and loosing both of them could really be an issue. A player like OG is not worth anything near a max contract, he is a 20 mil a year guy in my view, but now the Knick basically have no other choice but massively overpaying him. I think OG gets massively overrated because of his versatility, you can fit him in every team, but i think his very low ceiling, which he already reached imo, gets overlooked. I actually thought the Knicks are quite fine on defense and their problem is a lack of offensive production, this problem just gets massively amplified by this trade.

  12. Did you say Barrett is on a friendly deal?///😂😂😂😂 double check that… and knicks weren’t paying quickly 25 mill a year,, I love and will miss quick. He will be a bucket where ever he plays next year

  13. Knicks should have kept IQ and gave up Fournier Grimes or DiVincenzo. Rose dropped the ball by not getting a deal done for IQ in the off-season.

  14. Knicks fans blaming the players for not playing great when they consistently go elsewhere and play better. The Knicks aren’t a glorified franchise, they’re just a bad team in a big market. I wouldn’t be surprised if IQ and RJ start actually developing in Toronto. The Knicks have not resigned a player that they have drafted in over a decade. Yes, they’re THAT bad at talent evaluation and talent development.

  15. I said years ago that Knicks were never going anywhere as long as they had RJ. Not sure if this trade works out, but at least the RJ time is over.

  16. Content creators and critics always have something negative to say about the Knicks but the signings of Brunson, Randal, hart, and even Donte have been great upgrades at great value. So kick rocks 🤷🏻‍♂️

  17. #5 hurts the team .R.J jus a YNGER Randle plus he been her long time he should be ball like guys in his class . Him or Randle had to go.

  18. Knicks stupid as usual. Mr Barrett is playing solid right now and they traded him for whom? OG seriously? It's not like they in win now mode with this roster

  19. OG is a solid defender, fits the Tibs scheme, and more efficient than Barret on offense. But casuals only watch highlights so they make hasty clickbait statements like Backfire HARD For The Knicks without watching a single game after the trade with their new lineups.

  20. Honestly any move the Knicks make people say it’s a bad move just so they can eventually say I told you so. They roasted the Knicks for signing Brunson. Then roasted them for trading for Hart. It’s getting old.
