The NBA’s worst award.

The NBA’s worst award.

The NBA’s most improved player award needs a Rebrand because right now I just don’t really get it so currently Tyrese Maxi is an overwhelming favorite to win most improved player and by no means is this an anti- Tyrese Maxi take the guys is stuck but guys like him Shang goon

Scotty Barnes a these guys were already good but B they’re young former lottery picks they’re expected to improve not to mention with maxi James Harden leaving just opened up a bigger opportunity for him basically I just think the award should be about guys who unexpectedly improve from average or even bad to good

Rather than already good and they just got better like to me the fact that Kobe white isn’t the overwhelming favorite for this award is crazy or if you want to talk young guys how about someone like jayen sucks who was almost out of the magic rotation and has turned

Himself into an old D guy this year so to sum it up I’d like to call this award the unexpected most improved player and I got some ground rules that I think we should Implement to

  1. I’m a massive Scottie fan and I don’t think he should be in the conversation to win MIP, same thing happened with Ja when he won it, he was already the best player on the Grizzlies so he really didn’t improve that much compared to a guy like Garland who went from being a low tier role player to an all star

  5. I think they should just get rid of this award. They should probably get rid of the sixth man and clutch player awards too.

  6. The award isn’t who improved the most that no one expected. Imo it doesn’t rly matter if your a lottery pick or not if you have the biggest increase in production it should go to you.

  7. Your calling maxey young but colby white was drafted a year before maxey in the lottery, while maxey wasn’t a lottery pick

  8. i think it should be dante exum, dillon brooks is having a great season and you have people like keldon johnson having great seasons

  9. No one should be disqualified cuz they were expected to be good. That’s dumb. It should simply be, who has improved the most. No caveats

  10. Kinda takes away the whole point because what if someone was pretty decent and went to crazy good and someone who was not that good went from pretty unexpectedly good that margin between the first one is higher which means that is most improved it doesn’t matter if someone got unexpectedly good it matter how much better they got

  11. Tyrese maxey was picked 21st overall. He’s not a lottery pick, 2/3 of the league passed on him.

This guys doesn’t know ball at all

  12. I don’t think that’s very practical though, very rarely will a player be bad, and then improve enough in one off season to see it significantly
