Our new projected starting lineup thoughts?

  1. It also helps we have Dennis and Gary off the bench where we lack any kind of scoring and playmaking.

  2. mikeymouse95

Trash ass team. This trade will change nothing.

  3. Organic_Prompt_2069

ideally I would want a dynamic shooting guard and a stretch 5. not good enough, but have to imagine the front office will see how these guys play and then deal siakam by the deadline if we keep losing to solidify our core. hopefully we fix one of those issues with a trade

  4. Hopefully they play with more enthusiasm, if they aren’t good enough yet then that’s fine

Bringing in new guys not attached to the raptors is a good start, RJ being Canadian is good too

  5. Here’s hoping RJ can regain his shot. Without it, him + Pascal + Poeltl is kind of nasty.

Good size in this lineup though — the Raps have been mismatch hunting for their offense, they can continue to do so if they roll this out

I want IQ and Gary to start so we have 2 actual shooters in the back court for the first time since our Lowry + FVV double pg days.

I had this convo with a few people the other day and I get what everyone is saying so it probably won’t happen but I think IQ, Gary, Scottie, Pascal and Yak maximizes the lineup around Scottie.

And RJ crushed it off the bench for Canada no?

Offensively we may be very tough to stop, but that is heavily reliant on how well we will be able to shoot. We have fantastic players, but a lot of their primary attributes are scoring in the paint, and if we aren’t hitting our shots those drives are going to get tougher and tougher. If we end up shooting average or even a bit better, we could make a playoff push. But at the end of the day there will always be a hole at center with Jakob until we trade him unfortunately, just not good enough to defend bigs.

  8. YouDontJump

I most definitely want IQ to start, but I’m not sure if it wouldn’t be better to bring RJ off the bench, at least for the first little while.

  9. My preference is to have RJ start, but it’s honestly hard to say, it could go either way

GTJ starting is not a bad idea either

Having Dennis + GTJ or Dennis + RJ to clean up the bench minutes will be a blessing either way and a massive improvement over what it was before

  10. McWarrior943

3 non shooters. Looking forward to the same shit

  11. Barnicus57

Poeltl can’t close out games so I really hope the front office can somehow get rid of him.

  12. Imma guess

    Schroeder/Gary, IQ, Barnes, Pascal, Jakob.

    I’d probably prefer

    Barnes, IQ, Otto, Pascal, boucher.

    Gary, Schroeder Jakob bench.

  13. was looking into RJ’s shooting and its kind of an enigma lol
first 13 or so games 40% from 3 then next 13 or so games 25% from 3. The drop off happens around the charlotte game where he said hes having migraines but playing through it. His freethrow % has jumped into the 80s for the first time in his career too. This is mostly cope from me I guess but eh ill bite on the Duke of York potential for a couple games and then call him a bust like everyone else

I like it. IQ provides instant offence and a solid 3 point shot while RJ, though inconsistent, can score off the bounce. The team isn’t the defensive stalwart it used to be so why not lean towards a more balanced offence?

Schröder going to the 2nd unit will help a lot too. Gary is a catch and shoot player first. He’s very limited off the bounce. The same can be said for basically everyone on the bench. Dennis will provide some actual looks for the 2nd unit while also adding some scoring himself.

The team is a lot better than it was a few days ago.

  15. Toronto_Once_July2

Quickly, Trent, RJ, Scottie, Center. It’s been time for Pascal to go. Yak at the very least should move to the bench. Top 10 my ass.

  16. Federal-Sentence-754

Excited for this new chapter! Will miss OG but glad we’re trying something new. Hopefully this re-energizes the team and fanbase

  17. dickassman1973

Can’t be worse than the old lineup. Could it?

  18. Gary Trent Jr. should start over R.J. Barrett. He is a better catch and shoot player and feeds off of Pascal and Scottie in the post.
Dennis and R.J. off the bench with McDaniels, Porter and Boucher will be a nightmare though.

  19. tonydanzatapdances

I wouldn’t be surprised if Darko pulls some dumb shit like moving Dennis back to the starting lineup and benches IQ. I can feel it coming, it might not last super long but don’t be surprised to see IQ stay on the bench for a bit despite playing better than Dennis

  20. LilUZIVurt21

Imo RJ should come off the bench. Switch him out with Gary

  21. mango_invasion

Apparently his play has been weak, but was beloved by the Knicks players and staff. For a 23 year old of this calibre, if he plays his defence and finds his 3, he’ll be a Raptor for a long time.

Expecting IQ to play with a chip on his shoulder and make the Knicks question why they never gave him a chance

  22. lobotomylunch

Get rid of Pascal and poetel and I love it.

  23. It’s different than before! Yay
    Really pumped to watch Quickley

  24. Seanbig888

Barrett pascal and Jacob are horrible 3 point shooters

  25. No shooting, id start Gary over RJ, at least at the start. Id also probably start boucher over yak but I think im massively alone on that one, don’t like clogged lanes for pascal/scottie…
