I used to watch Nets game religiously, I’d watch them on the app if I was at work, and def have it on in the background at home… This year though, I think I’ve watched maybe 2 games?
I think I’m still in shock from going from championship aspirations, to whatever this is. Its like we didn’t completely rebuild, but we obviously aren’t championship contenders clearly. I used watch those games in 2018 so closely bc I liked watching our young guys develop, but we have a bunch of veteran role players who can’t get it done. Pretty much the worse kind of team to watch honestly.
This might also be partially because the YES network app doesn’t let you log in with your TV provider anymore
I mean yeah, we suck and casuals are t gonna tune in to watch cam Thomas and mikal. Kd and Kyrie made us relevant
There was a stretch when the team was really fun to watch. Then December happened and there was some weird shift.
Removing YES from the Hulu Live Sports add-on the last few seasons hasn’t helped
No shit a rebuilding team draws less viewership than a contending one
I love the nets I really do… since I was a kid but fans get frustrated too
JV isn’t a good coach
Some guys like Dinwiddie are getting starting PG roles but are backups at best
Our roster build sucks
I actually miss how fun we used to be watching our guys develop like clax Allen levert etc I wish we could bring back Kenny as coach.
The feeling just sucks I still watch because I love the nets too much but i understand how fans may feel
Honestly, the biggest Nets star right now (the person who is a part of the game that I am most excited about) is Ian Eagle. The dude just keeps getting better and better. Sometimes I’ll keep a game on just because he’s calling it rather than really caring about the game action.
Maybe if you could actually watch yes network without a cable subscription they would go up?
The Nets lack the lifer fans who will suffer through everything. There are some poor MF’ers who have watched every Knicks game for the last 25 years because that’s what their dad did and so that’s what they do. Those guys definitely raise the floor on ratings and the Nets have none of them.
But more importantly, I heard someome who would know (maybe a network announcer?) say LeBron James drives the most NBA interest/clicks/ratings, then there’s a big drop to Steph Curry, then there’s a big drop to everyone else. Assuming ’21 Durant and Harden (and even Kyrie for the crazy) were top tier ‘everyone else,’ how far down the pecking order do you think you need to go to get to zero-time all star Mikal Bridges (and I say this as a huge fan).
I think it’s as simple as that. It’s not Jacque Vaughn. It’s not DFS regressing slightly. It’s not Hulu. It’s a lack of stars. If even 2/3 of KD/Harden/Kyrie were still here and they had the exact same record as they do now, the ratings would be way more comparable to a couple years ago.
No shit
