What is the difference?

I’m honestly curious what the explanation would be for why that foul was called on Towns and why it was not called on Randle. They seem like incredibly similar plays and Curry seems to kick his leg out the same or possibly even more than Towns.

Randle clearly went into KAT’s body. Karl is annoying at times, sure, but it’s really fucking pathetic how the refs seem to collectively agree to fuck him over

One is a flop, the other is I think should be a flagrant landing zone call.

Well in 1 video Kat is on defense so clearly a foul. In the other clip he is on offense so clearly an offensive foul /s

Both had a bit of a leg kick. Kat lands on the guys landing leg not the kick out leg, other guy hits Kats kick leg, so that’s maybe part of it. Like if you are going to kick a leg out, we’ll be conservative in calling anything, but if your back foot is landing on the other guys shoe (Kats foul) that’s getting called. Kats first foot to land lands on the court. The Mavs players first foot to land on is on Kats shoe.

But that said, I think part of the difference is KAT’s foul baiting and history are working against him rather than for him at this point in his career. Him going to the floor doesn’t draw attention anymore.

Def a foul on Kat, probably a foul on Randle, but with KAT having that history, refs will err on the side of caution.

I really think that part of it is KAT. I get the frustration, but the body language and facial expressions do not help his case … especially when KAT does actually foul a lot. One thing that I don’t see KAT do as much as other players is speak with the refs. A bit of lobbying during TOs and cutting down on the “howwww???” 🤷‍♂️ could go a long way. The same goes for Ant. I feel like his “heyyy” has been more pronounced in the last few games. A foul is a foul, but the effectiveness calling out the foul while the ball is live not only conditions the refs to respond less but also often puts the defense as risk while they’re complaining to the refs while the other team is going the other way.

What’s the difference between North Korea and the US? North Koreans can’t tell if their leader is seriously dead. Americans can’t tell if their leader is dead serious.

Kat has the worst possible whistle of any star/superstar caliber player.
