Man got sat down and told you’re all washed up bro

  2. RapsareChamps_Suckit

this isn’t nba2k16 on a snowy day in February anymore Klay

  3. FERFreak731

He has to obsess over his stats, for his next contract

  4. KlaysToaster

He barely took shots today, efficient night tho

    Maybe that’s why

Obviously I don’t know Klay personally, but just based on his public quotes it definitely seems like he’s too obsessed with the idea of ‘successful return from devastating injuries’ or ‘proving doubters wrong’.

Went back and watched highlights of his 60 point game in 3 quarters and the biggest takeway was how he was almost always on balance and perfect at going at his own pace. Now he rushes terrible shots off balance and looks like hes trying to manifest a heat check with every other shot. The recent 5 game stretch he had where he played well he was playing slow and precise and not forcing things. I think the contract is definitely messing with his head.

i hope this marks a slow shift in attitude for him. he had that great five game stretch and he’s been overall less pouty. he just needs to bring the good vibes he brought when he was healthy and I think his game will get stronger as he learns to adapt to a new role.

Bravo to you Klay for such a mature take and being willing to share that with the public.

  9. Have a hard time believing this will keep up

At the end of the day, securing that last contract takes priority over the have a good attitude approach

  10. BUUAHAHAHA

Jokes aside that talk must have been emotional cause he kinda looks like he was ready to tear up.

So he’s admitting he had negative energy, was a bad mentor, and was obsessed over stats/performance.

    > enjoy the last chapter of his career.

If that don’t make you feel old, I don’t know what does.

    Stop this train, man.

  13. cock-a-dooodle-do

Klay can still give you 15+ pts on high efficiency if he accepts this role. I have watched every minute of dubs basketball, he plays really well when he lets the game come to him. Problem starts when he starts forcing shit to chase all-star glory. If Klay stays with it, it can revive dubs’ season.

Hard to not root for Klay, wears his heart on his sleeve and isn’t afraid to be open and honest with his emotions

  15. I used to hate the cocky Warriors and their actions but now that they resemble a harmless grandpa i even root for them to win. 🤗

When Kerr tells him to stop sucking shit or will be benched he usually just holds up how many rings he has, so its refreshing to hear he actually listened this time around.

It seems especially hard for wings. They don’t control the offense like an old crafty point guard. They don’t guard the paint and rebound like a big man. So much of their identity is around scoring and perimeter defense, and those are probably the first things to go as you lose a step.

Dwyane Wade couldn’t really figure out that transition, and it really hurt the end of his career. Same with Melo, until it was too late. Kobe didn’t even try. Manu did figure it out, and because of that, he seemed to have pretty much the best last few years of his career that you can reasonably hope for as a beloved teammate on winning teams. Same with Ray Allen.

I hope Klay figures it out, because the league is more fun when these legends can have cool ends of their careers into their late 30s.

It’s rare to see someone ruin their personal brand so thoroughly, so fast. Klay was pretty adorable, in terms of personality, and seemed unflappable.

Now it seems he’s taken the mantle of Emotional L from DeMarcus Cousins and proven himself to be pretty mentally weak.

  19. capitalistsanta

This has vibes that he’s been told he’s not getting re-signed

  20. AutographedSnorkel

Who would have thought we would reach a point where Klay Thompson’s negative energy is a worry. One of the most classic NBA memes ever is him with a shit eating grin on his face after fouling out with 7 points

  21. kasaan110

Kerr You making it sound like he suck or he retiring soon. Damn you know what Klay it’s time to move on. They won’t trade him but he should just walk every team in the league would go after him.

  22. trelium06

It’s super duper difficult for athletes who are performing below their peak abilities. Denial is a hell of a drug.

It took me years to get over not being able to dunk anymore.

  23. Cleanandslobber

Klay thinks he’s Meryl Streep when he’s actually Susan Lucci.

  24. Over_Ad_6384

You can see he is not a person to just let things go. Its like saying to Draymond to just calm down.

Ego people are what they are and changing means defeat.

  25. Incredibly powerful statement from Klay. Something we can all take with us in our lives. 🔥

  26. feel32own

bro should have signed that extension. His contract negotiating leverage is gone

  27. HikmetLeGuin

I’d like to see him enjoy his final years. Whether that’s as a starter or a bench player, as someone who is putting up great stats or as someone who is mentoring the young guys, have fun out there. He’s earned it.
